So ive noticed this problem. Over the course of running several different roms, (mainly AOSP based) i notice that while the photosphere feature works brilliantly on my one x; it refuses to upload the file to G+ in P-sphere format. It will upload fine, but it is never in the format that G+ recognizes as "photosphere." Instead i get a low res and wonky looking panorama... and no option to view it as a photosphere. I have tried uploading the pics both directly from the gallery, and from the G+ app.
Its like it is trying to convert the P-sphere into a jpeg or something. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or know of any fixes or workarounds?

I am loving the tab 7 right now. I am running into one problem with an app and I wasn't sure if its the app or the rom I installed. I installed cyanogenmod nightly build for the p3113 model at of Nov 4. I installed an app called social cam because I have seen people use it quite a bit and I wanted to give it a go since we have two cameras on this tab. The problem is when I open it to use it the camera autorotates to landscape mode and thats it. No matter what I press it will not switch to portrait. The other thing with the app is that it is not using the front facing camera only the back. So I can't see myself if I wanted to record a video.
I just wanted to see if anyone else was having a similar issue or could even duplicate the issue. It could be just the app, but I wanted to be sure before I deleted it. Also if anyone has a substitute that might be a good alternative I am all ears...thanks
I updated to build 3/30 today from 3/16 and I notice that when I take a photo and try to edit it (either by applying a filter or using brightness adjustments) and I try to save it, I get a message that "com.android.gallery3d has stopped working" and it doesn't save the new photo. I've noticed that it does not crash on any photos I've taken before I updated to this build date. Can anyone out there confirm for me real quick if they are having similar issues and reply back your findings?
If no one else has this issue, I might just do a fresh installation and see if that corrects it.

I too face the same issue on my Galaxy Note - 10.1.0-RC0-n7000
My friend who owns another galaxy note also faces the same issue with Gallery editing.
Very irritating bug, this.
Still having this issue and I've done 2 complete wipes (factory format and system format both times and Internal SD card format the first time) since I've made this thread. I did notice that this happens almost always on 3:4 oriented photos as opposed to 4:3 oriented photos. I don't think there's any apps interfering with it since the only photo type app I have is Instagram. Any other ideas on what might be causing it?
Hello, I am currently running CM 10.2.0-RC1-d2vzm on my verizon galaxy s3 and I love it. It is even better now that hangouts 2.0 came out and it is supporting group message since I am in school and I use this option a lot. The only issue i am having is that gifs are not working. When someone sends me a gif it appears as a still picture. However, I tried sending myself a gif and as the sender I can see the gif image moving but as the receiver (remember i sent it to myself) the gif comes out as a still picture. If anyone has any idea of how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
(p.s. i would love this problem to be fixed b/c i can't stand hearing my friends tell me that their iphones are better just b/c their gifs work. Yeah right!)
Am I the only one having this problem?

it looks like I am the only one having this issue.
It probably is a known problem. We can't expect eeeverything to work yet when the apk is made for 4.4. Maybe they added some stuff to the android framework in 4.4 that would allow gif messaging in hangouts. We will see when CyanogenMod rolls out CM11!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
thank you. that i s good to know. Now the waiting starts haha
So I stopped by a cellphone store and tried sending gifs to the hangouts to the store cellphones that were on display. They were all running android 4.2 or later versions. I sent gifs to the store's cells and all the gifs worked like a charm. Do you think that the reason why the gifs are not working on my cell that's running cm 10.2.0 is bc it is rooted. It seems a lot of people are having this problem ( http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/hangouts/7GcV9emmjiI ). Has anyone figured out what is going on and how to fix it? Thank you for all the help.
Can anyone confirm that they are having this problem too?

FWIW, I'm on Gummy (4.4) and can see/receive gifs in Hangouts. It's possible the rendering in 4.3 does not allow gifs in apps like Hangouts, but does in 4.4.
Try flashing a 4.4 rom and let us know if you still have the issue.
Okay I flashed CM 11 M2 and the same problem still exist when I send a gif the recipient sees a still picture. I tried sending a gift for myself and the same thing happens; As the sender I can see the gif moving but when the picture gets to me I can only see a still image.
Anyone else having this problem with their GSIII and cyanogenmod rom with gifs not working?
Anyone?
I guess I am the only one having this problem.
Anyone?
I took a chance with a Omni rom based on android 4.4 and the same problem existed with that rom. Do you think that it has something to do with the Verizon Wireless service?
Okay, I tried using CM11 M2, Omni based on 4.4, and Gummy based on 4.4. All three had the same issue. Do you think it has something to do with the Verizon Network.

I think it's the roms. Gifs work in Hangouts, but don't in any other SMS app I've tried.
You stated that you had gifs working on gummy rom. Do you know what you did to get it working?

Do you think that gifs will be working when an officially 4.4 stable Rom comes out for the Verizon GS3. Gifs not working on the Verizon gs3 has been an annoying problem for a long time and I am wondering if it is a lost cause.
So I went through most CM11 based, custom ROM's (including there own base rom) and one consistent broke portion was when using the gallery app (not photos) if I tried sharing any image that came from a picasa album it would not work and gave an error. Sharing it to anywhere resulted in "can't download image" or "can't complete task". As well I couldn't "set image as" a wallpaper or anything else such as contact photo etc. A stock based ROM or modded rom which was not CM11 based have no problem doing these things. I prefer gallery and this is simply broke in CM11 when it comes to sharing. Not the developers who base their Rom off CM11. So how does my tiny little request get to the CM11 developers to look into it?
Tested 4.4, 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 CM11 based roms. All with same results.Again all stock based roms, no issue. I think this is a simply bug fix.

Can anyone else verify the same issue?
Yes, about 2 weeks ago i rooted and went straight to cm11 on my t989, I knew before hand that the camcorder wasn't working, today while at work I checked for updates and saw that cm11 20140113 was released. After I got of work I downloaded it, installed it, didn't really notice anything untill I went into the camcorder. I recorder about 10 seconds of video and manually stopped the recording!! Curious to see if it worked I went into my gallery to view it, as soon as I opened gallery it froze and rebooted. I know I'm off topic a bit but i be had every nightly available and the gallery always acts up. But the fact that I was able to record was amazing, I still can't view the video, i even tried viewing it with my default video player which is MX Player and I was given a "cannot play video" error. I don't understand, I should be able to watch the video I recorded right? Unless its trolling me...
Hello xda-users,
here the problem: I got a Galaxy S7 Exynos version for almost 2 years and with Instagram I always was back with the updates. For example, when the gif update was rolled-out, I haven't had it for something like 3 month. When I finally got the gifs, I wasn't be able to upload insta-stories if I add a gif to the stories (was it a pics or a video).
Then months passed and, other than this problem, I got a new one: now I can upload only pics in isnta stories, without anything in them.
Examples:
- if I try to upload a video, after pressing to "add to my stories" it try to upload it but, when I check the uploading status clicking on my stories feed, it gaves me a black screen with the word "uploading...";
- same problem if I try to upload a boomerang;
- same problem if I try to upload a pic with a tag/gif/anything.
And it seems to keep using batteries since, after a while, the samsung UI said that an app (instagram) is using to much battery. So I have to kill the app and to delete cache/data from the setting menu to stop instagram doing things.
I tried the following:
- fullwipe with stock rom: problem persists;
- installing a custom AOSP rom (LineageOS): problem solved;
- installing different Samsung rom: problem persists;
- installing previous instagram apk version on Samsung rom: problem persists;
At first I thought it was the preinstalled instagram version on the stock rom, but then I find out that the problem is with instagram and the Samsung rom.
Is anybody there that can give me some hint/adviste on how to try to resolve the problem?
EDIT: If you are asking yourself why I won't keep the AOSP rom (I'm a lover of AOSP rom), the problem is that the camera (driver? app?) is really bad on LineageOS...

same problem here
I think the problem is in the custom ROM. When I install the original, it works.
