Saw this for sale at a local Cell phone shop but they were asking $40 for it, checks online don't show any better of a price.
My question is, Is this particular screen protector worth it over the $5-6 ones i can find online?

Nope. Not worth the extra coin.

i think you are mistaken for a plastic screen protector vs tempered glass. Tempered glass protectors usually run around the price you see on amazon ( i have yet to find a reliable tempered glass protector for under $10 not talking about chinese knock-offs).
The one you posted from amazon is .4mm which is significantly thick and you will feel that you are touching an extra piece of glass. There are better ones out for a lower price (.15mm is the thinnest glass protector i know of from Spigen).

No confusion, I'm finding a lot of sub $10 Tempered glass screen protectors on ebay, there is even a thread dedicated to them from another website
Hey guys, I'm currently deciding between screen protectors
Zagg InvisibleShield Glass
Luvvitt Tempered Glass
Tech Armor Premium Ballistic Glass Protector
I can't post links yet so sorry about that!
I'm always open to suggestions but those 3 are the ones I've seen most recommended after reading a couple threads on screen protectors on other forums. Pick a poll option and explain why!
rocking with a 9H ZeroLemon Glass screen protector and installation took me like 2 minutes only and the Glass SP is just amaazing it is by far the best screen protector i have ever used on any phone, no smudges no glare no graphic distortions touch feels good smooth and well i just would give it a 10/10 .
Im in the same situation. I was looking into the zerolemon one and they do offer lifetime warranty but that only applies if you scratch the protector or get air bubles in it, not if it shatter when the phone falls, and they apparently send a new one.
However this one, with the shipping for me, costs about 25$, so i don't know. I found one from a brand called Ariza with good reviews for 9$ (free shipping), but i don't know if its good or not or if really they are just about all the same lol
The thing is I've heard really great things about the Tech Armor one and that's half the price of Zagg and ZeroLemon... I'm just not sure if I can justify the double price of the screen protector you guys are suggesting.
Personally always had Zagg Extreme screen covers.. not as thick as glass but crystal clear and the feel is perfect for me. Just my two cents. Can't go wrong with Zagg
Balistic glass
I've been using balistic glass since i bought my s5.. it's still good upto now
For me, since I used the phone for a long period of time before I put a screen protector on it, I just don't like the feel of anything but the glass screen protectors. Just my .02
I emailed iloome.com about the status of a tempered glass screen protector for the Note Edge and recieved the following reponse.

Thank you for your inquiry. We are working on it as we speak, and will be released sometime in January!
Thanks,

I keep seeing posts from people asking about tempered glass protectors so I figured I would pass this info along.
I had an iloome flex on my Note 3 and it worked like a champ. The screen on the edge will shatter if you drop it I had to get an insurance replacement from asurion a week and a half after I got the edge but, since I hadn't filed any claims before my deductible was half the usual.
Thanks for the info
I looking for a temepered glass for my note edge
These regular screen protectors are so annoying once you get used to temepered glass screen protectors
I love the Tempered Glass... But hate Assuron. The deductible too high. So I went with Square Trade, only $5 a month and a $75 deductible.
Wow.. Thats an awesome news. Thanks for the info
Glass protectors definitely work better and last longer than normal protectors
Need major protection for Edge
The Edge is more than delicate - my second week with it and the "Flip" case they push you to buy is a waste of $40 of course when dropped landed on the "edge" looks like a windshield from a crash. Want to locate good case before turning it in to insurance

I went ahead and sent an email to the iLoome Support email address from the post you just quoted to hopefully show there is more interest in a tempered glass screen protector.
Sent from my Samsung GALAXY Note Edge on AT&T
Just got a email from iloome.
Dear Valued Customer,
We will be announcing its release at the end of January!
Thank you!

I'm looking for a tempered glass protector. Hope they make this. Those other screen protectors dull the HD and lighting of the display.
Hopefully it covers the whole screen over the edge. I have a regular cover and it sucks with finger smudges
Ugh..
you are telling me, I just put on the armor suit screen protector and after a session with my stylus.. you can see under the light where it has been,.
Looks good news, is it 0.15 or 0.2mm?

I was looking online to find a tempered glass but I didn't see any. Has there been any progress on the tempered glass one? I think it's kind of hard to put tempered glass or make one. I just don't want to get plastic or wet kind since s-pen doesn't work as well on those IMHO.

Possible Glass Cover for Edge
[/COLOR]As I have myself been following this thread for a while, I figured I would submit a find of mine from the great internet, if nothing more then to gather some opinions of the find.
I found an overseas company called "BeautifulTech" that currently has a screen protector, and to quote (my emphasis in bold/italics)
Real tempered glass, strong hardness
High transparency, excellent hand feeling
Only 0.3mm thin
Secure anti-explosion function
Oleophobic, anti-fingerprint
Arc edge design, smooth and safe
The direct link to this is (sorry I have almost no posts, so outside links are currently banned for me, you will have to un-space the link)

Seems inexpensive, so I am thinking of taking the gamble for a shot at a passable tempered glass protector until a higher quality one arrives.
Thoughts?

i don't really know. i looked them up on facebook. only 31 likes on their page. no inputs.
their youtube channel is also dead, with only like 1 subscriber.
and this curved screen protector, they don't even have a proper photo of it,
only of a flat normal one. it just says "screen protector", no branding?
i'll pass. in a good month i'll be able to order from iloome, they provide some of the best quality screen protectors
out there. at least i'll know what i'll be getting.
why i won't buy from beutifultech:
- no product photos. only of something that looks like a note 4 screen protector.
- expensive shipping (unless i don't mind waiting 3-4 weeks).
- product name: "tempered glass screen protective film". so which one is it? glass or film?
i also tried to contact them through their customer service form on their website.
"unable to submit your request, please try again later".
i'll rather wait.

Well, only $5, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Having it sent via snail mail, so but the time it gets here, iloome should have theirs out.
The site was created 2014-2015...looks dodgy to me.
It does accept paypal though.. So might be ok to try. Unless it takes you to a fake paypal site and hacks into your account.
Looks like it only covers the non-curved part of the display.
it's all bs, i wouldn't touch that with a 10 ft pole. that site smells fake and scam all the way.
if iloome are correct in their latest predictions, their curved tempered glass screen protector for the note edge
will be released this month. best quality there is, probably.. and a much safer bet.
I want to open a discussion about full glue / adhesive tempered glass case friendly. What do you think is the best and where do you buy it
Personally I gave up and am going protector free with a UAG monarch case
Do not give up. That's why I started this discussion. They are certainly there. let's wait for people to post here
I have honestly not had any luck with tempered glass screen protectors on curved screens. They all seem to reduce screen sensitivity to a level that's unacceptable to me. I can't stand having to press stuff twice or have the notification blind be difficult to pull down.
After trying 3 different tempered glass screen protectors they all ended up being crap, and these were decent ones too, the glue around the edges attract so much dust and debri, I've seen people use a UV light to put on a full cover screen protector with some special adhesive , but it's expensive. My s8+ has been naked for months now just a spigen full armour case on it lol.
AMAZON Ichecky full adhesive.

I suggest you buy this tempered glass in EtradeSupply >samsung> samsung-galaxy-s8
Having used a screen protector preventing curious viewers from watching my mobile especially when in an aircraft, I waited for such a protector to get available.
Some days ago, the DooqI protector appeared on Amazon and I ordered it. It arrived today, two days after ordering, delivered by USPS.
Overall, I am impressed. Safely packed, nice package, all required tools.
Former privacy protectors for my OP3/3T/5 always left a small area on the left and the right side uncovered, the protectors were always not wide enough.
This protector covers the whole screen and was easy to install. It prevents curious viewers from watching the screen if the mobile is hold in portrait layout. Landscape layout is not covered.
As (in opposite to all previous protectors) it should be glass, I hope not to see wearing off at the corners as previous protectors did.
I can recommend the protector, and the price is suprising low, $2.99 with $3.99 shipping, so in total about $7. I payed significantly more for previous protectors for less performance.
