new TMOB-US 1.11 radio on Viper OneS 1.2.1 - HTC One S

Do we need to change the build.prop for this new radio? Or should we change any values (like HSDPA/UPA/XPA/RADIO.SVN)?

You can always check it. I didn't have to re-edit mine at all so you might be fine.

radio upgrade

i am using tomal v.08 ROM version in is fantastic
my radio version is 1.09
how can i upgrade my radio?
can somebody tell me in very simple steps?
hey there, go here....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=356
its a poll of radio roms!
choose the one you want.
go here.....
http://vidmes.com/xda/Uni/Radios/
Download the one youve chosen.
Simply put it in the directory of tomals 8.2 installer (If the installer is an exe, extract it with winrar to a directory and pop the radio rom file in.
If you run the installer it should install the radio rom and tomals rom, so remember to back up your contacts, pictures, etc as you will be asked to hard reset at the end of the install (just follow the on screen instructions).
technically if you remove tomals rom file, it should just update the radio rom but im not to sure about that, you wold have to try it for yourself! And with that i shall pass on the immortal words.
I take no resposibility for any issues you have after the upgrade
jigs it was more easier in that
just download theRU link from the samelink u provided
copy radio into Ru extraction file
and run RU
thats it
thanks anyways
but i still dont know wat r fuctions of radio how it works n wats its use?
im not totally sure myself, ive always guessed that its the bluetooth wifi and gprs that it deals with, ive never had any problems so i think i only changed it the once & didnt see any real differance.
Anyways glad you got it sorted.
In the WIKI there is a chapter of radio only upgrade with a lot of usefull info

to use a radio u need two things.
the radio -> u flashed from pc
rilphone.dll -> install via cab from ppc itself. This is that ur ppc wm 6.x knows how to address the hardware via the radio. it matches the installed radio
The cab is probably the rilphone.dll that matches the radio. There's a decent chance that whatever rom you're using already has that rilphone installed (or maybe 1.14.25.05). You should find out if it's already cooked in before installing. Some people swear that matching the rilphone with the radio improves battery performance. I've never seen a huge difference, but I'm also on EDGE and don't have a data plan, so it may just not matter for me. Read the stickied rilphone thread for more info.
The Flashed radio should work. You should check the performance and then decide if you want the matching rilphone.dll. If you do then install the cab

[Q] Having FM Radio problems

Ok so I'm currently running a Rom based on JB (katkaxl I believe) I've followed others intructions from different threads but am still having problems...
I believe I've done all the correct things
-ive copied the files to /system/app
-I've set the permissions to rw-r-r
-restarded the phone
The app shows up, but not the widget. And when I run the app I get no sound, it doesn't crash or force close just no sound at all when using the radio. Other than the radio the sound is perfectly fine.
What am I doing wrong?
For what its worth, UrDroid includes fm radio natively and it works.

[Q] HTC One S and wifi channels 12-14

Hi.
I have found that my rooted HTC One S 4.1.1 doesn't recognize Wi-Fi channels 12 and 13 (14th channel too, but it's not a problem for me).
I've red about fixing the Regulatory domain on other threads, even found the solution to change it with the help of SQLite Editor: I've edited the /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db, table "secure", field "wifi_country_code" and changed value from "ru" to "eu", but it haven't changed anything. Also, after reboot it returned to old value "ru".
I've also tried to do this with sqlite3 - with the same ending and no result.
Does anyone have the fix for this problem?
P.S. I also tried WIFICodes from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982149

Hello,
I am curious what rom you are running, If you are running stock JB 4.1.1 then the system partition has write protection. Any thing that you do the it will be undon upon a reboot. there are modded kernels in the cevelopment section that have gotten around this write protection. You might want to check out this thread, but only if you have a S4 model http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083229. Hope that helps.

I have a stock 4.1.1 rom, but I installed a kernel patch so I can save changes on /system partition. It was checked during su, busibox and sqlite3 instalations. Patch was also found on this subforum.
I'll check now if /data partition is write-protected.
Added later:
Ofcourse /data is not write-protected. I checked it by creating a new folder and new file in it. Also, in sqlite database mentioned before there is parameter called "wifi_on" and it saves the value during reboot.
So, it's not a problem of a privileges and write protection.

Changing system version

Hello Guys!
As the title says, is changing System Version possible
I have the AsiaRetail version of A2, and installing any ROM, be it GB based or ICS based, changes the System Version to ATT.en.us. So, its a little peculiar seeing ATT.en.us on an Indian phone.
Any help is appreciated!
P.S.: I also tried editing the build.prop, but it doesn't change the System Version at all.
Look, as you can figured out, the system version is just a piece of text in the buil.prop.
If i'm not wrong, numa rom is based on ATT.en.us rom, so, when you install it, your phone says like you have an ATT.en.us phone, but not, is still international.
You must always remember which class of phone you have, in your case, international.
If you want to edit correctly the build.prop (But i don't recomendo so), you have to edit it with a text editor, then save it, and reboot. I guess, you forget to reboot, to make the effects of the changes.

I know it still remains International one, and yeah, I think I had rebooted after I had edited the build.prop. Anyways, I like STOCK ROMS more.
Thanks for your reply though!
