Screen shot for lg Optimus sol? (e730) - General Topics

Hello, as you can see, I have an LG Optimus sol. Before you continue reading, I would like you to click on this link : forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/60483-romstockharshginger-v32/
That, is the harsh ginger rom, edited stock rom. It is a good rom, but that's not the point. The point is... If you go through the awesome things the rom has, it has a screen shot function ( home + power button), which I doesn't have right now.
Yes. Can I request any one who is a developer, to tell me, how to get that function? If you do, I will love you forever. And ever.
P.s. Please don't tell me to download some sort ta stupid app in the play Store, which need either the stupid button floating on my screen, or some stupid "shake to screenshot" crap. Thanks.

ROOT - LG Optimus 3D

I was able to get Superuser access through the SuperOneClick 1.9.5 app from CLShortFuse (thanks for this awesome app).
Very easy process: be sure you're currently using the latest ADB composite interface drivers by Google (Android SDK).
link to the SuperOneClick 1.9.5 app from CLShortFuse is here:

On firmware v10b?
NVM it works
yes ik911, on firmware v10b.
Sweet as a nut.
I didn't use the google drivers. When I put phone in debug mode Windows 7 fired up the LG updater and all I had to do was select LG-P920 from the list.
10 seconds later... ROOT.
Happy bunny now.
All we need now is some developers to make us some sweet ROMs
LG should do it like Samsung and give some devices to developers.

I don't know why you would, its nothing to write home about.
I went into it once just to see what it was like, every time since since then I have only gone into it by accident, as its quicker to go to everything directly than mess around navigating a fancy menu.
Personally I would prefer to rip out the 3D menu entirely and assign something else to long press of the 3D button. I would also much prefer the 3D button to be the shutter button when in the camera than a 3D toggle, its not exactly hard to press the 3D button on the screen but it can be hard to press the shutter button while trying to not to nudge the phone out of shot.
Shutter button would be good.

Wait, is there no camera at all or is it just that the LG camera app is not there? This may make me think twice about installing the update.

I registered just to ask this question, but do you mean that if I updated with the new Gingerbread update and did a factory reset then the LG Camera would be there?

No there is NO LG Camera app. Even after you do factory reset.
If some one would make a backup of the camera app and then post the apk that would be great

It really frosts my rear when I go to the T-mobile website and I see they are showing the new Mytouch 4g Slide with the "most advanced camera on any smartphone." And here I am with arguably the worst camera available on any smartphone (the AOSP GB camera, not the LG froyo camera).
I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that they have something in the works to provide us with the proper camera some point in the not-too-far future.

I am waiting for the jury on this, is there a way to keep the phone LG photo app.....or put it back....after doing the GB update.
One guy said it comes back after a hard reset after the update....but others say that is a no go.
I want to avoid buying an app for the camera function, which I will need to do if its going to be just the stock Android.
Seems LG could release an update to replace it....no?
Right now the consensus seems to be if you do the GB update you lose the LG camera app, and it does not come back by doing hard resets.
TIA
I actulice and I still see the camera application.
Yes, you lose the LG camera application; that doesn't mean that there is no camera application. It's just not the one that came stock with the phone, and it's not as nice. For example, there's no "switch camera" button -- you can only take photos and videos with the rear-facing camera, not the front-facing camera.
I'm not a very big user of the camera, so I imagine this one will probably be sufficient for my needs until the final update comes out.

I wouldn't count on LG releasing an update for that. They didn't even ever release an update to fix the small email signature bug, so I doubt they'll get around to a whole camera app.
The only good thing that comes out of this is the stock Android camera does 128K audio vs. the 64K audio of the LG camera. Oh, and we can finally keep the geolocation turned on instead of needing to manually turn it on every time. Same maximum qualities otherwise, but almost no control over anything else and the zoom is not controlled with the volume controls.
if you dont like it and if it's possible please phandroid back to what you were using before. we finally get SOMETHING, proof of LIFE on this thing so please...quit your *****ing all will be well. lg does seem to intend to right their wrong.
I will be avoiding threads with titles such as this one like the plague because although I was one to be disgruntled too over this phone I at least can recognize progress when I see it

Oops, my bad; that mountain icon in the lower left is the "switch camera" button. That graphic just didn't communicate to me at all; I assumed it was the control for "focus mode" or some such. Sorry for the noise.
anyone know how to make the gb camera screen lighter? mine is so dark. I do love the update and I have had no problems what so ever. But the dark camera screen.

[Q] Defy turning screen off for no reason?

hi.
so last week i got a brand new motorola defy.
since then i have set the screen auto-off to one minute.
however, occasionaly the screen will turn off, seemingly at-will while i am right in the middle of something!
any idea why? this is quite frustrating and it is only occasionally so i cannot recreate the event.
running adw over motoblur-froyo on the defy in US of A.
thanks!
Sounds like it could be a faulty screen or crappy software, I suggest you ask to have this thread moved to the Defy section. Since they could help more.
that sounds like a great idea.
who do I contact and how?

my method for flashlight use on zte warp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My brother and I have found a way to use the flashlight w/o root on the warp. Im not sure how long it will stay on or how long it should stay on because ive only used it for a minute or so before cutting it off.
To use a flashlight : we have our camera flash set on, once we click the shutter button and its in the middle of taking a pic we hit the home button before the picture is taken. Once youre on the home screen the light will remain on until you go back in the stock camera app and finish taking the picture.
If you would like to use the flashlight for the camcorder you complete all the above steps but once youre back in the stock camera app and you slide the button at the bottom to the camcorder thingee at the bottom.
Im not sure if this is the right place to post this. I tried searching for a section on xda designated for the zte warp and didnt see one. Wanted to help the ones who would like to use thier flashlight on the warp w/o rooting
ive only used this method a few times so im not sure as to the ramifications to your warp if thier are any...
That is great news because I dont know any app in the market that turns on the led in zte phones. Did you try create a sample? Repoducing those steps with camera object?

Screen Capture Without Rooting!

hey all!
Well after a long while searching for any screen capture app that works without rooting the phone.
I finally found something & just wanted to share the experience:
It's called "Screen Capture Shortcut Free" (there's also a paid versions with couple of extra features, but I ONLY tried the free version so far)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.tomorrowkey.android.screencaptureshortcutfree
NOTE that the developer says it's tested on "Galaxy S" "Galaxy Tab" & "Galaxy S II" -- so it might NOT be compatible with all phones or Android versions. But you won't lose anything to give it a try if you need a screen capture app and you don't want to root the phone like me!!
Fortunately it working perfectly on my Ace Plus with the default Android 2.3.6!!
Hope that helps
You don't need any app for that! Just press home + power and you're done.
