Possible to use Sense email as standalone app? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi! I'm running an old htc dedire on a CM 7.2 rom. Works fine. But I really think the exchange email on Android 2.3 sucks. For once: no search!
(been trying som ics and jb roms which has much better mail clients but hade to revert due to other issues)
One good thing about sense is the email client.
So my question: is it possible to install just the sense email client on a custom rom?
Or is there some other free email clients that work well with exchange? Tried k9 but it didn't work with our exchange setup.
Thanks for any help w this!

I think I can solve my email\exchange issues on the Darchdroid version.
Currently I believe this version supports only mail sync. But the other roms with sense ui, have their mail app that supports sync with calendars, mail , contacts.
Can someone please post this application so I can install on mine and see if this will help resovle this email/contact/calendar sync issue I have?

[Q] Flag an email with IMAP account

I've used an IMAP account over many variations of ROMs on my HD2 over the past year or so and since upgrading to the Sensation, I do not have the option to "flag" an email.
An Exchange account does have the option, just not the IMAP one.
Can anyone help here?
Anyone able to help here? I'm going on holiday for a week and being able to flag important emails to attend to upon my return is something I've always done.
Seems strange that an upgrade to a better phone looses features?
Reviving this old thread as I've just upgraded to Android Revolution HD™ 4.1.6 Sense 3.5 and with the new Sense UI, I had hoped this issue would have been resolved.
Can anyone suggest how being able to flag an email in IMAP can be achieved with the stock mail program?
Perhaps a rom tweak?
Anyone able to help?
I've just updated to ICS in the hope that IMAP mail flagging would be available - but it isn't.
My Asus TF101 has this ability (on both Honeycomb and ICS) - just bamboozled as to why my Sensation can't flag an email on IMAP!
Anyone able to offer any advice?

[Q] Sense 3.6 - Hotmail Exchange Activesync with HTML

Hi,
I just wanted to ask a quick question regarding the Email App on the ICS Sense 3.6 ROM. Hotmail with Exchange ActiveSync always seems to have problems on past Sense version, and i was wondering if the Mail App in Sense 3.6 has fixed it? Also I wanted to know if HTML is supported? I am on the Desire HD Sense 3.0 ROM and active sync seems to be working but no HTML support.
Shameless bump....

right about the framework! therefore maybe it could be done, but not economically!
HTC rely on the +Rosie+ Framework.
Suggestion; Use K9 mail, Maildroid or other email clients
Hi,
I want to use native ICS email client with lotus notes using exchange active sync but whenever I put port number in server name the next button gets disabled any help on this?....same works fine on HTC email client.
Presently I am using Criskelo Rom.

[Q] HTC mail sync

I've been installing some Sense 4.0 roms lately and they all have in common that I can't seem to sync an Exchange account. In CM9 I have no problems at all. If however I use an Exchange 2007 server instead of an Exchange 2010 server the account syncs perfectly. Anyone else with a similar problem? I guess it has something to do with the standard HTC mail application which can't work with Exchange 2010.
Same here
Looks like the same problem I had with CM9 and removed it for Endyinon 3.5. I have both 2007 & 2010 versions of exchange and 2007 works with this rom and Runnymix3d.
I think the problem is the htc mail client, although its the only problem I have had.
HTC Mail on Sense 3.5 syncs perfectly with my Exchange 2010 corporate server.
I doubt their app on newer Sense is less than that. I would rather assume it's a porting problem, or some misconfiguration on Exchange server side. Last reports I've read about HTC Mail being incompatible with Exchange 2010 are from 2010...
Ya heard that too. Gr8 now we need a patch for this 2

I've used the roms based on the HTC One V port with the newest ICS 3.0 kernel (Fallout and FlashONE). Whenever I try to sync the phone it gives me a warning with "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.". I haven't tried Virtuous Saga yet with Sense 3.6. But previously with Sense 3.5 I had no problems with syncing. So it's either the porting of Sense 4.0 or HTC Mail in Sense 4.0 which gives problems. I don't think it is ICS related since CM9 syncs perfectly although it uses the older 2.6.35 kernel.
