[Q] Data Dashboard gone from Notifications? Help. - General Questions and Answers

Hi, For some reason the Data Dashboard <- -> has gone from my notifications.
It used to pop up and scroll in the top of the screen telling me how much of my mobile data I had used.
It was also always displayed in the pull down Notifications screen.
I have tried stopping and starting the process. Disabling and re-enabling it. And also rebooting the device several times.
This happened the next day (26th) after the monthly reset (25th).
It has all worked fine for two month. And was fine after the first 25th reset day roll over.
Going into Settings > Usage shows.
- Mobile Network ON.
- Set data usage limit (Ticked)
- Reset Data Count (25th of each Month)
- Data Usage Cycle (25 Dec 2012 - 24 Jan 2013)
- 1.0GB (Red Line Limit)
- 915MB (Greeen Line Warning)
- 25-26th Dec: about 43.09MB used
The phone is a HTC EVO 3D Running KingCobra 3D-ICS v1.5 ROM.
Android version 4.0.3 & HTC Sense version 3.6
Any idea's or help appreciated.

Humm, Still no replies. How about OS upgrade?
OK. Hopefully will find this time capsule and solve the problem for me some time in 2013.
I still can not work out how to get the "Data Dashboard - Usage Notifications to come up again".
But I also have a new Question.
I have 3x HTC EVO 3D X515M Mobile Phones here.
One I use myself. And 2x more for backups and experimentation.
1 - Virgin Mobile Unlocked.
2- Optus Mobile Unlocked.
3 - Kogan Import (Orange camera surround) Unlocked.
I believe all are S-On.
I would like to upgrade them all to KingCobra v1.6.
Where do I start?
I will also need to backup all the data from the phone I use.
Looking for answers!. Please someone with knowledge find my posts.

battery draining bug?

Just got my TB - loving everything about it except the battery. My iphone 3g had an exceptional battery.
During the recent 4g outage - I checked out the settings at *#*#4636#*#* to get the 4g radio to switch to cdma auto.
While there I noticed that both my 4g and 1x speed icons on the notification bar would light up the send arrow every three seconds (barring any other kind of network activity) when idle. I noticed on the phone info area it lists PPP sent and PPP received. Every three seconds my sent data numbers increased by 241 bytes.
EVERY. THREE. SECONDS! Thats 20 times a minute, 1200 times an hour. Every hour, my phone sends 289,200 bytes somewhere. During the course of a 24 hour day (if my battery can last that long) - that's 6.6 megabytes a day or 200 megs a months just sitting idle.
While not a lot of data - I'm sure 28,800 transmissions from the cell radio a day can have a drain on the battery.
Is there a way of seeing which app is transmitting data and where? I read a similar bug was found on Win Phone 7 devices.
If this has been discussed before I'm sorry. Searching for "241 bytes" showed no hits.
Also on a side note - just noticed on my TB that when a calendar reminder appears on my lock screen, when you slide down to dismiss the event, you go right into the phone even though there is a security lock (lock pattern for me) enabled. So you can gain access to any TB by simply waiting for a calendar event. Not cool!
Network keep-alive?
is your sync turned on?
that would be great if it was a bug and we could figure it out.
well I sync using the minimum settings - disabled stocks and twitter sync. Most others are set to the lowest sync settings.
Even if this is just a keep alive ping - 1/4 gig a month can cut into data limits if you don't have an unlimited plan. And this is when the phone is sitting idle.
I Noticed My Phone Randomly Submitted 3g Data (No 4g Here) when rooted on custom rom and when I was Stock. Idk Why. I have Only Mobile Network Checked. No Auto Sync. No Background Data on. Idk Why I randomly see that Arrow go up. Maybe its an app I have..hmm..
Went To Battery Stats and checked Network Usage in Battery History. Then Check all Time. Shows Internet as the Most, Then 0 (Idk what this is) Then Media (What Media?) then Dialer, Then Android System then Market, then all Others (Rest dont matter because usage is so low.)
I'm having this issue also, except more data is being used each time than what you posted in OP. I had background data turned off and it still happens. Would like to see this worked out.

Mystery 12 O'clock Data Consumption

Hiya!
I have been tracking my data consumption for my LG Quantum on Telus and I noticed that I was consuming quite a lot of data, despite the fact that I have not used it for anything more than answering an email or two. Looking deeper, I found that my Data consumption was between 100-500KB during most of the day, but for 15 minutes at around midnight (if not then, then at midday), my data consumption soars to over 9000KB (8.8MB) (it doesn't say for what).
It has been doing this since I activated the service.
Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Update: Possible Resolution!
I noticed that my phone was programmed to check for updates over the 3G connection. I just disabled it, but I will need to wait 24h before seeing if that was the issue. If you can confirm it, please do.
i have notice this also the exact same thing basically on my samsung focus so it sure makes you wonder??and to add to that i purpurposely made sure i havent used the net or download anything or anything else since new bill and im up to 8.8 or 8.9 usage!!!! hmmmm
Well, it seems it was the 'Update over 3G' that was hogging my Data:
I unchecked the option yesterday and spent today recieving emails, checking the People Hub and even surfing a couple of websites over the network without using half as much data as before.
NOW YOU KNOW!

No data connection (deleted?)

Hi community
I was playing around with my LG P500 Optimus One last week. I did a LOT of stuff, amongst others:
- root
- install a2sd + its gui
- install clockmod recovery
- recovered/reset etc.
- uninstalled crapware (and i think here may lie the problem)
So I was perfectly happy playing around when I suddenly noticed that i cannot connect to 3G anymore. So there could be a lot of reasons, and i was looking for it for a while now and I am clueless. Well my last clue is that maybe i deleted an APK from /system/app/ that is in charge of the 3G Connection. Does anybody know which component of the system is in charge of it??
Just to make it easier for you, these reasons cannot be the cause because i have:
- right APN/MMS settings
- data subscription
- wifi working
Nevertheless, in the phone information menu (#*#*4636*#*#) i get the error message:
===========DATA===========
State: DcInactiveState disconnected with last try at hh:mm
fail because Data Not subscribed

On another phone i get data connection withou problem with the same line
Thanks for help

[Q] Excessive data usage - Super ICS v.1.1.1 Koush Kang

Hello, i installed Super ICS v.1.1.1 Koush Kang onto my Nexus S on the 25th november. My monthly data usage has been consumed very rapidly since install, my surfing habits have not changed so i decided to contact Vodafone UK who could see my habits before ICS would be 5-10min couple times a day no more than 1hour. Now it seems iam transfering data between 4-6 HOURS at a time multiple times a day. i am certain Super ICS v.1.1.1 Koush Kang is causing the excessive data usage. i realise ICS is early development could i be overlooking something that is using the data? i do NOT have anything else installed apart from clean ROM.
looks like i will need to rollback to 2.3.4 Gingerbread
thanks
installed 3g watchdog from market as data logging isnt enabled in this build.
instantly see 20mb recieved over network within 15seconds, very little sent data.
so iam home now checked WIFI to see what happens and 75mb recieved in 1min hardly any sent. its stoppped transmitting now, restarted phone looked again its stoppped.
i would post this in the developers forum under the correct thread but i cannot
Is your phone set to backup your preferences and such? What about your Market, is it set to auto update some applications?

Data Usage

hey guys,
I got some issues with data usage, cycle, and graphs. i was wondering if anyone knows the answers to these questions of course without using another app or rom's data usage.
1) I was wondering if we can set the white lines to show the billing cycle (1 month) by default instead of the last 7 days only? I have to scroll back everytime to check.
2) my data usage reset on me a couple of times without me doing anything. Im not sure whats causing that, but i do have a theory that there is a "lag" of when you set your cycle and when the resets happen.
So if you initially have set on the 15th, then you change to the 1st.
And if its the 13th today. I think there is a reset on the 15th, then it goes to your new billing cycle.
This is just a theory, im not 100% sure. Can someone verify this?
If this is true, how can i make it instant instead of the delay?
