[Q] No Phone Service after flashing CynogenMod 10 Build 6 RC2 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am not able to save my APN to allow me to have phone service. I enter the APN information and then touch save and it disappears.
I flashed cm-10-20121110-UNOFFICIAL also gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip and encountered no problems except the I have no phone service.
Did I miss something or is the flash missing information or is it just a defective flash?
How do I proceed now?

Flash the first link from my signature
Or upgrade baseband.

"Flash the first link from my signature
Or upgrade baseband."
Where is the link and where is your signature?
Upgrade the baseband to what and where do I find it.
Thanks

Need Help: LG Optimus One P500 [ROOTED]: Unable to flash custom ROM ICSLunarPro 2.4.6

Hi All,
I had flashed my LG Optimus One P500 with Stock ROM + Custom Recovery with the help of this forum.
I had also rooted my mobile and tried to install ICSLunarPro v2.4.3. Post Installation, I could see that the status bar is not appearing and the mobile doesnt recognize the mobile network GSM/3G. Even the media such as mp3 and images were not recognized in the respective applications.
Below are the details about the issue:
Mobile: LG Optimus One P500
Current ROM/Firmware version: V20C + Custom Recovery (CWM)
Android Version: Android 2.3.3
SD Card Size: 8 GB
Custom ROM: ICSLunarPro v2.4.3 (to be installed)
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408952
I would like to know if this problem is due to baseband version compatibility issues. Please let me know your opinions on this. Even I had installed another ROM (ICS Themed with Android 2.3.7) which had the similar issues like this as well.
Thanks!!
You certainly have a new baseband, if you want to flash ROMs which support only old baseband you must revert to old baseband first.
Otherwise if you don't want to play with your baseband then there are other ROMs available here built over v20 platform.
Is it possible to upgrade the baseband according to the ROM or it would make some serious problems due to mobile network?
My phone has the latest baseband (v20g europe) and i have recently tested some CM-based ROM's without flashing the old baseband. The rom's work perfectly and you simply do not have GSM or data connection (wi-fi works though). If you are having problems with a ROM, they are very likely caused by unclean partitions: make sure to always do a factory reset, wike cache and format /system before applying a new ROM via zip file.
bye
I also flashed the new ICSLunarPro 2.4.6 with the New Baseband v20G(Used an guide on here to switch to it when I tried an Gingerbread ROM for an while.) I didn't realize it was an v10E baseband ROM, but the ROM still installed correctly and all. I did an switch of the baseband after and service worked when I did so but the dev for ICSLunarPro recommends an complete wipe/reinstall for it to work correctly.
What I would suggest doing, go into your recovery(i recommend CWM Recovery) Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache, and Battery Stats. Then Flash ICSLunarPRo, wait for it to boot, change the theme with Theme Chooser to either Ice Cream or LunarUI, then go back to Recovery, apply the Patch he posted for 2.4.6, then it should be set. Resetting the Dalvik is very important if you had an ROM running before hand, I think you skipped that.

You need the old baseband fix. Search the forum and you will surely find it.
Nexus7/ParanoidAndroid/MKernel
Good.. you didnt create a new thread for this.
There are only two types of baseband in LG P-500.
New Baseband.. " v20 c/d/e/g etc "
Old BB " v10 c/d/e/h etc".
As FitAmp said.. nowadays all the roms are made for NEW Baseband.
You can either upgrade Baseband using various methods or use a temporary FIX.
Flash the first link in my signature below AFTER flashing any rom.
If you arent able to flash the fix.. normally unzip it.. paste it in /system/lib using rootexplorer. Set right permissions.

Thankyou so very much.
I am getting signal now.
However WIFI Tethering has stopped working, but dont makes a big difference....
I am heartly thankful to you for your kind support..

[Q] Lost and need help please

I recently rooted and started applying roms to my nexus s. Everything was going fine until my network data stopped working.
Have tried to unroot and return to stock but cant seem to get it right. whenever I try to use clockwork recovery any update zip i apply fails. Im currently on:
version - 2.3.1
baseband - 19020AUCKF1
kernal - 2.6.35.7-g7f1638a [email protected](hash sybol that isent on my mac keyboard)1
build - GRH7
I am based in the UK and think nthat my radio could be wrong?
When I factory reset in 2.3.1 i get the official update to 4.4 which dowloads, verifies then on installation stops and wont complete.
I am confussed with all the terminoligy and find the info on here overwelming to follow correctly.
on another forum i got the response that if i dont understand the process then I shouldent be doing this. Fact is I thought I did know what I was doing until it went wrong.
Could somebody be good enough to help me through this so I can restore my nexus s to working order please?
Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884
Check your phone model, behind the battery. You probably have a gt-i9020 since you are in the UK.
Probably you need to flash the correct radio. What's a good choice? If you do have 9020, anything in the list with kb3 in it.
Kb3 has no limit to how fast it can upload data, which can be a benefit depending on how you use your phone. Most people would choose kl1 which is the most recent.
Download and flash in cwm recovery. Reboot.
Let me know if that works for you.

[Q] Tablet is not provisioned. Please insert valid SIM card and reboot

Hi Guys,
Can I get some help with the following please:
Issues: When power on my Xoom(MZ601), I get the following error "Tablet is not provisioned. Please insert valid SIM card and reboot"
Steps taken to troubleshoot
1. Restore to factory settings and when reboot, I will get the above error. I wont be able to get into the tablet with that error.
2. Install custom rom - Will be able to get into the device but does not have any signal be it 2G/3G. Only can use wifi. When try to set the APN, nothing will happen.
I am suspecting I messed with the baseband version and causes this issue. I am currently on baseband 07P. I am trying to a way to fully restore back the device to factory settings include the baseband itself to see if this will fix the issue.
Is there anyway I can get a copy of the baseband N_01.100.05P file so I can try?
Thank you very much for any form of help.
Hi,
I never saw such a problem, but if the problem is really the baseband I think you can try restoring to 100% stock (find how to do it on our FAQ), then you update until the latest version in your country, then you root again (you can find it on the FAQ again), and then give me a shout to know what happens
Good luck!
"This Story Ends Where It Began" - Octavarium (Dream Theater)
Thanks for your reply!.
I have tried what you've suggested where I restore it to full stock but end up just getting the same error message. I'm using this package (MZ601_H.6.1-38-9_Other_International_Retail)
I even tried to restore it to (MZ601_H.6.1-38-1_Retail_Europe) whereby it actually allows me to setup my tablet and I'm able to get into the device finally which was a good sign BUT, I guess Europe spec's doesn't support my telco's , therefore again, I did not manage to fix the issue.
The same sim, if it were to insert to any of my other devices, it will just work fine.
And when I was doing the europe package, the baseband change to some older ones at first, then as I upgrade it with the stock patches, in the end it went back to 07P again!!!!
Is there any way I can find the baseband 05P files so I can try to flash it back and see if it works? I strongly believe I've messed up with the baseband file whereby now my device cannot find signal.
If there's anymore posibble area that you think I've posibbly messed up, please let me know. I have played with the device long enough but this time I'm really stucked. .
Appreciate your big help!

[Q] LG P500 help!

I am not a pro at installing android os. I am 16. I recently installed Cyanogenmod 10 (Android 4.1) on my phone (LG Optimus One) and I can't call. I use Simple Mobile. Whenever I try to call, it says,"Mobile Network not available". If you don't know a way to fix this. Can you show me how to put it back into Froyo 2.2?
Seems you are on old baseband and you have flashed a rom which is based on new baseband. Just search for ' old bb fix ' and flash this from your recovery. You will get back your network.

Nvm, I got it. I have the same problem for the Galaxy S2 model t989 too. It dropped in the water, then it can't read the sim card. So can you give me a link to old bb fix for S2 T989 plz? Thank you.
Ok, apparently, I installed a different old bb fix and now that doesn't work , then I installed the one you gave to me but then it didn't work. So I am stuck again. Please help.
goto settings, abouth phone and read what is your baseband, if it's v10 that is old, if its v20 it is new,
if it is old update via LGMDP to latest version 2.3 GB(if PC doesn't recognize your phone, boot into recovery, conect usb cable an from advance/mounts mount usb), install, reboot, now you'll have fresh oficial GB, root with Superoneclick latest version(maybe you will need to do it few times, for me it didn't go first time, if I remember it was at 3rd time or so), install CWM trough RomManager and after that you are good to go with what ever you want to put in that phone, anyway, all ccustom roms from 2.3.7 are for newbb

Updating my p509 from 2012/2013

I purchased an Optimus T (P509) in 2012 and had it unlocked to use on a trip I went to europe. I played around with it a lot and messed with custom roms and basebands, and then left it alone for about a year. I'm now downsizing my phone/tech collection in general and looking to update this to use as a daily driver.
Here's the info about my phone:
ClockworkMod recover v5.0.2.0
Baseband: LGP509AT-00-V10l-OPEN-COM-OCT-23-2010
CyanogenMod version: 10-20130108-UNOFFICIAL-p509
Build number: cm_p509-userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54k eng.arjen.20130108.030427 test-keys
My questions are:
What updates to baseband (if any) do I need to do? Would this mess up my unlock?
Do I need to flash a new recovery?
What ROM would be best for my needs as a daily driver? requirements are stable without crashes and everything works, followed by the newest android version.
Really the rom part I can experiment with later, I'm just not sure if I've hosed myself with the baseband 'fixes' that I recall messing with 2 years ago. I have a new sim card on the way that I will use with this.

1 - Actually upgrading baseband on that device would lock you out of some frequencies the radio ( not the FM radio ) uses to communicate with the carriers towers. I also have a Optimus T ( P509 ), tho no longer in service.
2 - Depends if you want KitKat ( 4.4 ). If you do then you'll need CWM 6.0.4.4 or newer. I am currently working on a utility for older CWM versions to be able to install KitKat but until then you'll need what I just mentioned. If not too interested in KitKat then you can leave your recovery as is. I use CWM 5.0.2.7 Touch by @vivekkalady. I've been using her recovery since she introduced it.
3 - You'll have to search and make that decision for yourself as we all have different needs and habits.

That's interesting what you said about the current baseband, I'm not sure if I changed it after I last used it. But I turned off airplane mode and popped in a T-mob sim and it wasn't able to connect to a network, similar results with H2O wireless card (at&t mvno). I'm not sure if my current version of android is messed up or the baseband.
I don't mind upgrading CWM, is there any downside to doing so? Is there a kitkat build out now that works? I may want to use KitKat as I hear it's meant to be more usable on smaller memory systems like the p509.
I don't mind finding one I like eventually, but looking for a recommendation to start off with that should work without too much difficulty.
Thanks for you help so far, I hope if can figure out this cell network problem :-/

Either your APN settings are wrong, which you can manually fix, or you did upgrade/downgrade/change baseband. The P509 is supposed to be an old baseband phone. The P500 and P509 are identical. Only difference is the P500 is a new baseband device. You can flash a P500 ROM. If you don't get any signal, then most likely your on old baseband. There is a patch for that, no biggie. If you do get signal then you're on new baseband and you should continue to use P500 ROMs. If you decide to flash a P509 ROM you won't have any service which will be a baseband issue. There is a new baseband patch around here somewhere too.
You can find a link to the old baseband patch in the LG Optimus One FAQ. Post #8 or #9, I think.

I wasn't certain what my starting point was since I'd done this so long ago (and I thought I applied the old BB fix at some point too...). Anyways, I took a drastic step and installed the stock rom V10s_00.kdz with the kdz installer from LG. It successfully flashed and I don't have a brick on my hands
The problem is now the phone doesn't recognize any sim cards, of which I've tried 3: tmobile micro, h2o micro, and a gophone minisim. The microsims were put in a cut out minisim as an adapter. The gophone is a normal minisim that is uncut, but it's not activated. I never got a locked or bad sim message, just that there is no sim card in place.
Under phone status it shows a signal strength (varies -65 to -75 and 25 asu)
Under APN settings it matches the T-mobile ones
And the baseband via secret menu is amss6038
I'm wondering if the sim module or gsm module are messed up? I kinda want to try out the emergency calling but would rather not get the police involved
I messed up my SIM contacts when I left an adapter in there and pulled it a little too hard out! I removed the compression plate on the back and it works again. I'll have to get a small piece of electronic safe foam to apply pressure to the back of the SIM to keep it in proper position. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2598308)
I'm interested in the kitkat build here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589303
If I were to want to use that, do I need to flash the baseband fix on top of the other install instructions? Anything special in terms of timing it at a certain point in the install process?
Thanks for your help so far, I forgot how much fun messing with android was

Well, we still aren't sure if your device is new or old baseband. With the recovery you already have, flash CM10.1, CM10.2, or CM10.3 ( All JellyBean ). Latest CM10.2 builds can be downloaded here. Easiest way to work around the baseband thing is to figure out which ROMs, P500 or P509, that will give you cell service. Flash a P509 ROM. If no service then you upgraded baseband so you'll need to use P500 ROMs. Flash a P500 ROM and if no service then you're on old baseband and you should use P509 ROMs. Only difference between P500 and P509 ROMs is the P500 ROMs are NEW baseband and the P509 ROMs are OLD baseband.
As of now the only KitKat ROMs being build are for the P500. If you find you are OLD baseband, flash the oldbb fix from the FAQ I mentioned a couple posts back. Oh, and you'll need the newest CWM 6.0.4.4 or newer recovery to flash KitKat.
Hope all this helps...

Well, I'm on the old baseband, the reason I know is I used KDZ to nuke it back to p509 stock! The more I read about kdz after I did it the more scared I got, but I lucked out and everything is fine now
The sim unlock is preserved, and I successfully rooted it with gingersnap. I don't have any sort of recover on it yet, it looks like CWM 6.0.4.4 does not work with older roms, just Kitkat based ones. So I'll do some more homework and figure out if I want to jump right into KK or try JB first.
Thanks for all your help, you gave me a quick jumpstart and brought back a lot of knowledge that was tucked away in the back corner of my brain!
