Merry Christmas every one! I'm sure many of us unwrapped a brand new Moga Controller this morning, and I was one of those people. I was a little disappointed in the amount of games it supported, however. The Moga app only lists around 30.
So, I downloaded the Universal Moga Driver from the Play Store, but still couldn't get it to work with nearly as many games as the SixAxis app. I kind of expected the two to be similar. Be able to set up custom profiles, just as you can on the SixAxis app, and be able to play and game. Does anyone know of a way to do this? As it is, the controller is kind of useless. I can use 1 of the 15 games that I have on my phone.
Is there a way to change the Master Bluetooth Address of the controller so the SixAxis device will recognize it? Or is anyone planning on making an app similar to the SixAxis app for the Moga that lets you create custom touch profiles based on screenshots of the game? Because that would be amazing.
Thanks everyone! And Merry Christmas!

Did you read what I wrote though? I'm wondering if there is anything for the Moga similar to he SixAxis app, or if there is anything I can do to get it to work with the SixAxis app. I have already tried the Universal Driver and I couldn't get it to work with most of my games.
Bump?

So yesterday I downloaded Nesoid and a handful of ROMs for my Captivate. I had some fun playing them, but using the on screen virtual keyboard was really hard and it covered most of the gaming action. So I see that the new psx4droid supports wiimote. So I emailed the developer of Nesoid and suggested that he add that capability to his too and that other than that its a great emulator. He emailed back and this is his response
You can use other apps on the Market. But please enable input method in Nesoid settings.

What does this actually mean? Is there another app that I have to download and install first to get the wiimote to connect to my phone via bluetooth?
I dont have a wiimote yet, and before I go buy one, I'd like to know exactly how it works, if it will.
Search for "Wiimote controller" on the market, should work.
You can use a few bluetooth gamepads with android. One being
MSI Bluetooth Gamepad (BGP-100) which is a weird kinda swivel thing. I am going to gut a SNES controller and put the BGP-100 into it. It has been done before and everything seems to fit fine.
There is also another bluetooth controller made for blackberry's that works with android. It is vertical gamepad with a trigger control. Seems pretty nice.
I think you have to buy a market app to get the drivers to make the above 2 gamepads work.
Also as mentioned you can use a wiiremote as a gamepad for android. I have been looking for a wii classic controller + wii combo, so it does not have to be tethered to a normal wii controller to work. I want small and portable bluetooth with a dfecent amount of buttons that is why I am going with the SNES form factor.

Free, although it does say there isn't galaxy s support....so it might not work.
wiimotes currently do not work on the SGS phones because of the bt3.0. not sure on the other BT controllers
Are there any controllers that can be plugged in? Just wondering for flights...
Well I emailed the developer of Wiimote Controller and asked if they could update to support Galaxy S phones. This is there response:
Hello,
thank you for your feedback.
I don't think this will be possible with the current way Samsung's software is handling bluetooth.
Best regards,
Piki

Doesnt sound good for us getting to use a wiimote as a gamepad
Trying to play Nesoid with onscreen vitrual controller sucks, its too hard and I'm afraid of breaking my phone. Every time I get into the game and start tapping A or B rapidly I can feel it flex and creak in my hands.
Just wondering in anybody has made progress on getting a bluetooth controller for the captivate/galaxy s?
Ive been looking into it...and came to a bunch of dead ends aswell :sigh:

Speaking of games...
I wasn't able to find any in the market but I'm rooted so I know I can find games from other sources.
Are there any games like Alone in the Dark (horror genre) or fantasy role playing that would have the same type of graphics you'd see in WoW that I can put on my Captivate?
Searched but didn't find any info about the skyrocket.
I haven't tried one yet, but I think a Phonejoy may be a good option from what I have read.

Samsung replaced the regular Android Bluetooth stack with their own that doesn't support game controllers.
In order to get a Wii or PS3 Bluetooth controller working, going to need to use an AOSP-based build like Cyanogenmod.
There's a program from the Market that will enable support for Playstation 3 controllers. They can emulate mouse mode with their thumbsticks, etcetera, but the hard part is trying to find a game that's controller enabled.
The app sixaxis controller off of the market will work for our skyrocket. It will allow you to sync up to 4 ps3 bt controllers. Sixaxis controller also requires root access to work.
I am using mostly emu games and used Sixaxis seems to work well but you have to connect it manually from the PC if you connect your controller back to the PS3...
So I tried the wii but it wont connect...

On asus transformer with ics the sixaxis controller is natively supported without the need for any other application
I played Meganoid using gamepad. Don't remember having any problems so it's probably fully suported.
Gunman Clive
Helium Boy Demo There is a paid version of the game to.
Pretty fun game with nice graphics. colorful and playful feeling..
Both games supports keyboard, gamepad. Have its own setting menu so you can mapp your keys..
The keys that works and the ones you can use on the keyboard when you set up the buttons (think this goes for all games)
Tab
Caps lock
Shift Buttons
Ctrl Buttons
Alt
Arrows
If you have Sixaxis app. You can use all the keys on the keyboard to choose from if you set Sixaxis to input metod. Seems that this works witout root. So it should work the same if you have the app USB Joystick Center.
Open Sixaxis
Change IME
Choose Sixaxis Conroller
Asus Prime & Tapatalk
Thanks for the advice, but I play all games that support keyboard or mouse or gamepad only with DroidMote.
The important thing is to support some external input devices.

I do not like touch profiles, I find it uncomfortable to create a touch profile for each game, or different touch profile for different screen size or change touch profile for every game. if the game support the gamepad, from the comfort of my couch, with a single device i play with all games.
In essence we are only interested in games that support external input devices.
So are the games listed in the first two posts compatible with Sixaxis without touch profiles?

Not sure what the issue is, my tf101 plays it fine. I didn't do anything either, just connected loaded tiki kart and it works.
Dead Trigger
unfortunately I can't post links yet...sorry. Just search it in google play.
Gamepad option allows you to map your control without needing to set a touch profile with Sixaxis...plays great with my PS3 controller!

You mean the very first entry in the gamepad settings? BTW, "Aim" brings up the scope/sights.
Thank You!
I have searched the Internet for about... ehh 30 minutes trying to find a list like this. No surprise it would be found on XDA i should have came here to start with. Quick Question... You said "Now that ICS is among us" I have a Xoom (Unrooted Android 4.1) and EVO 4G (Ported CyanogenMod9 4.04) Do you believe either one of my devices will support gameplay with my Playstation Controller? or Maybe Both? What do you think?
I can't get my Xbox 360 USB controller to work anywhere. Super annoying.
All gamepad supported games will work with sixaxis app just tick emulate gampade controller and the go into the gampad supported game go to settings and there should be map gamepad control's some games like GTA 3 will work straight away
The OnLive app comes with a very limited list of allowed controllers including their controller and the Xbox 360 wired one. I've smali hacked the current v1.3 APK to theoretically allow any Android (ICS and later) natively supported controller. I've successfully tested it with a PS3 Dual Shock 3 controller over Bluetooth with the Sixaxis Controller app.
You'll need to uninstall your old OnLive app before installing this one.

Wow! That's cool. Many thanks for your efforts. I have OnLive on the Kindle Fire HD and was concerned about buying a third party bluetooth controller like phonejoy but this should help out in the event that the OnLive app doesn't like it.

It's been so long I can't remember if I even had the analogues working. I quit using it b/c the first MOGA controller only had 1 set of L/R triggers and they were mapped to the wrong set. I think every single game I tried was unplayable w/o that right trigger and I couldn't find a way to re-map it.
I hope it works on the NVidia shield.
How To Pair Moga Controller on Onlive App
Please Can someone tell me how to pair Moga Controller with Onlive Android App..

So I've got my Shield and I'm loving it. However, only about half of my games have Xinput controller support. So I'm trying to figure out how to get either Pinnacle Game Profiler or Xpadder to work with it. I've tried a few things, and I'm not quite getting there. Here's what I've tried:
- Setting up a Profile with Pinnacle for Xbox 360 controller and then launching Big Picture from the Shield. This didn't work (although it works with my regular Xbox 360 controller when not using the Shield).
- Adding Pinnacle Game Profiler as a program to Steam and then trying to launch it while connected with the Shield. It would not open while the Shield was connected to Steam. It did open in Big Picture while the Shield was not connected.
So that's about as far as I've gotten. I do have a few ideas, but I'm not sure how to implement them. One idea is to figure out how to add Xinput to a game. Basically setting up something like Pinnacle or Xpadder to "listen" for a connected Xinput-compatible controller and then activate the proper profile. The other idea is to try and get Windows to see the Shield's controller and then configure Pinnacle/Xpadder in the normal way. I've tried connecting the Shield to my PC with a USB cable, but it only mounts as a Media Drive and the controller feature is not detected by the computer. Someone on the Pinnacle forum suggested trying to find an App for Android that will connect the Shield to my PC as a controller. There are several Apps that can do something like this, but none that look like they would work with the physical buttons on the Shield (if someone knows of a good App, I'd be interested to try it).
So those are my thoughts and where I'm at. Any ideas on what I can try?
No ideas, but bumping for my support... the inability to map the controller to keyboard buttons is the biggest letdown of the system to me. So many awesome games I could be playing on it if we could just map with xpadder.
I'd pay good money to have mapping abilities... anyone feel like a bounty?
It should work in theory if you play through steam, right? Steam recognizes the controller as xinput. If you set it up manually from the PC it seems like it should work!

The problem is that the controller is only detected by the computer while you're in big picture.it disconnects as soon as you exit big picture.
