HTC One S S3 processor 's products resulting from the wrong decision of the Executive HTC. They shortage chip S4 from the manufacturer.
And decided to use S3 Processor . Without telling consumers. And not a price cut.:good:

HTC China already announced it was coming in January and they only sell s3 models so you kinda stupid for thinking we would get it at the same time....,
Plus we already know from the last update s3 devices are at the end of the one s roll out.

when i bought my phone(1 month ago) a dont have 4.0.4 OTA available too, it looks like they paused 4.0.4 or something....but if you want to install it you can do it by RUU
at first install this
http://www.htc.com/uk/software/htc-sync-manager/download/
download RUU from there(4.0.4)
http://d-h.st/3CA
and now double click on file you downloaded and follow instructions its very easy but one disadvantage is that phone will be wiped(factory defaults ) you need to backup everything except 10gb partition for data
Its official 4.0.4 version many people updated this way including me

When the official ATT update comes out with 4.2.2 and Sense 5+, is there a danger in accepting the update with my phone in its present state?
Thanks,

Phone information:
HTC One X (AT&T version)
ROM: Stock 4.1.2 (from the HTC RUU site - I never got the OTA update)
Rooted
S-Off
TWRP 2.3.3.1

Like all of these rumors, I'll believe it when I see it. I'ts completely without risk for someone to say these things are going to happen - if they DO, those people look like geniuses, and if they don't, no one calls them on it.

You should consider any update offered by HTC as a moderate to high risk to a modded phone or a phone you want to mod.
HTC do not support a phone once it has been modded.
Any update may brick your device, prevent you unlocking, rooting, modding etc.
That said with supercid and soff the risks are reduced but not eliminated. Any update expects your phone to be stock, if it is not any amount of unknown things could go wrong.
If/when an update comes out you should only accept the update if you are willing to accept a bricked device. The risk reduces if others are saying they succeeded, but sometimes it takes time before it is fully clear of any quirks to updating. Eg JB with supercid on s-on AT&T devices caused many lost devices.

I doubt you could fathom the amount of time and work that goes into rom development. Many roms are developed by teams. imagio is one person, let's not create any more pressure than the pressure he puts on himself. That's how you push someone into stopping development. If you really want to push him to do timely updates the best way is with frequent, large donations.
Twistedddx, while your post is 100% accurate, I think it's pretty safe to assume that it will fall on deaf ears for the type of people within this community. Personally, while this phone is just perfect as it is right now, a brick is just the perfect reason to upgrade lol

[2013/11/04] Update is rolling out! Android 4.2.2 & Sense 5 - Discussion

The Update is rolling out!
In Serbia & Croatia and other countries, for free k2ul.
You can follow the happening from here.
Usually HTC is updating free k2ul (with LTE) first. If all is fine, free k2u are next, together or followed by provider k2ul.
After that, cricket & boost get the update.
At least they did this way for the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.
Pictures: Look at this post
==================================================
You need to get back stock, if you are rooted and have custom recovery/rom:
S-On, you have to S-off your device and do the S-off guide
S-Off you can do from the beginning like told here.

I hope (and believe) of course this will come, but its not confirmed officially.
And i don't think it will come before august/september. All before would be a real suprise cause even the update for HTC One isn't released officially. Then will follow OneX, OneX+...
But there are rumors that One S maybe don't get it (technical issues). That would be heavy for them.
Other news say, we get Android 4.2.2 without Sense 5:

Football is continue claiming that there will be an update.
A german "insider" is sure there will be nothing.
To make it clear: atm we don't know anything for sure!
But related to One S: it was canceled because of their different processors. Qualcomm does no longer support the S3 version. And before they only update the S4 and user are asking "why does he get an update and i not, we have both One S", the have canceled.
But this problem don't exist on our phone!
So let's hope and keep fingers crossed.

Most people go with the flagship phones or the cheaper (Desire X). Most time people complain about resolution, but when you used to 800x480 (like you and i from Desire S times) its not a problem i think.
But all in all i would say the most devs are working on the flagships.
It is clear that our model is not very popular. If by the end of summer does not release update, then it is likely that 4.2.2 will not.

And as i have heard, the HTC One mini will also have the same processor and 1 GB Ram. So also not a big alternative/difference in 4,3" phones. Better screen, but no sd card, so i'm staying with lovable One SV.
But lets come back on topic, please!
The One SV stands in between the One V and One S in terms of specs(hence it's name),and if the One S isnt getting an update, there is a high chance that the One SV won't get one
But we cannot miss the fact that it was launched after the One S so there is some hope for this device

I just noticed on my carrier's web site that they are scheduling the release of HTC One XL 4.2.2 ROM on 2nd September. That is an Australian release but I'm sure the clever ROM guys in this forum will be able to AT&T-ize it pretty easily
http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/Device-Updates/Handset-updates-23-August/td-p/182088
Judging by the recent HTC One X (int'l) 4.2.2 release we can expect Sense 5 etc. with this release.
Ooh... Lets hope they stick to that date

Does the first link mean that the updates for all devices are rolling out today, or each device update one by one is rolling out starting today?

I would say probably just the European phones. But you can't really tell about the random news sites. I would say we will see something in a day or so

It'll most likely be a staggered release, hopefully within a few days we'll have something to play with.

The source is "HTC Germany Press Info via E-Mail" that the news article then doesn't link to.
So I am not sold on that being an official HTC press statement at all.
Perhaps HTC has submitted the update to all carriers as of today and is waiting for approvals from them to release. That would cause a stagger over the next month or 2.
I got excited and ran the 3.18 RUU. I had a feeling it won't be in AT&T anytime soon, but I tried lol

I saw this yesterday, Telstra have an expected release date of September 2nd so I would think it's not far away.

I agree with the Telstra eta, the news articles that say everywhere today will release I think is wrong.

Will we have to wait for a dev to package these up or are they flashable? I know you can't flash then alone but didn't know if you could if you were on stock sense.

They are NOT flashable in ruu mode(The firmware.zip included is) but Im sure it will cause a brick (probably bootloop) if you are not stock(and odexed) and of the proper Rom version.
Edit: new Hboot 2.15.0000
and just confirmed its 4.2.2

Who wants to boot into Linux and patch up a new Stock ROM?
I should be heading to bed.

Note delete doesnt work. Feel free to fix the script
There is a bunch of deletes you would need to hand do if you do not fix the script.
Edit: So it also turns out HTC Germany saying everyone(in Germany) will release at once was correct. We just assumed worldwide while it appears limited to Germany related carriers only.
Telstra isn't far off, HTC Singapore are normally quick for updates also. I expect them within the next 7 days.
If only I had the hardware/knowhow. I know there's work being done on it as we speak though.

Damnit. Last time I had Linux it messed up the bootloader on my Windows laptop. Never touched it again. Hopefully can get my brother to do a system dump.
You shouldn't run into any problems if you run linux from a liveusb without installation, the only downside being you cant properly update the linux or install software without bugs.
Who needs Linux?
