Saw it on slickdeals, but android police put the list together. Thanks though just the same.

And then you live on the continent where you can only get a credit card if you make over 20.000 a year...
Which means about 90% of Europe can't buy anything from the playstore. That's about ohhh.. What's 90% of 750 million?

Not what I meant. Google Wallet requires you to fill in Credit Card data in your account before you can make any purchase, regardless of wether you intent to do it via your credit card or provider billing.
Market enablers just unlock country-specific filtering, which is pointless as there is no filter on the Dutch playstore.
Europe uses Maestro, a direct-pay card. (meaning you pay directly from your account, as opposed to having a monthly bill.) (Which you know, seeing as you're from Belgium, I'm just clarifying for everyone else.) You can't use a Maestro card for Google Wallet.

We (meaning our household) have coupled our RaboBank credit card to the Pplay Store aco****s we use. Works like a charm, and you pay from you bank account at the end of the month. I'm pretty sure that the ING has the same option available, so it's not like we are without options in Europe.
That being said, we are above the amount you interjected, although that is not too difficult if both adults have a paid job. I suspect you are still a student, so that'd explain the financials -- not that that will change substantially once you get your Master's degree and start working you first job. Obviously, your monthly addition to your bank account will increase enormously, but so will its export once you have to pay real-lif rents. And this gets even more pronounced when you'd opt for an advanced degree (like a PhD)...

Fancy Widgets. I have the version before they got the C&D from HTC.
PS: you don't have $.99? LOL Most apps are so cheap. Look for spare change, load it on a pre-paid Visa. You're good to go.

Question.
You are paying for a smart phone correct?
Nuff said. You pay because nothing is really free, and
it supports the devs. I have no money (but) I donate if the app
is provided free and I use it and if you don't have money for apps
that's fine. Quality work should be paid for plain and simple
and you should learn to budget accordingly.
The market is not available in every country you know..
I have no problem paying for apps, most of them are cheap, but the market does not offer paid apps to my country..

You guys need to realise that not everyone lives in your country, and even those who live in a country where paid apps are available (like me) don't always have a credit card which works with Google Checkout.
So untill you can buy apps on the market with paypal or directly on your phone bill, many people are just unable to use any paid apps, no matter how cheap they are.
Hi from Germany,
this is the same problem that Sony had with their PSN before they inroduced the PSN card (prepaid card like Itunes). In Germany only 27% have a credit card and I would not get a credit card to buy an app for .99€.
My favourite pay methode is prepaid so I cannot spend hundred of euros in apps/music ^^
My free suggestion that is currently avalible in the market place is Weather Forecast&Clock Widget
Instead of telling the guy that .99 cents isnt too much, why dont you help him.
JimJam, I use fancy widgets and it works perfectly.
EDIT: Removed .apk, Wasn't aware it was banned here.

If an app you are looking for isn't available via the market, but is *free*
the app (more than likely) is available via their website, or some other medium.
You can still donate almost anywhere in the world.
The way the market works is just like in real life.
if you don't like, want or use the app you paid for you get a refund plain and simple. -Just like a free app that asks politely for a donation if you enjoy the work (if the developers asks for it) I don't donate if the free app isn't going to be used/kept.
The OP was looking for an app that was told to C&D.
Not the *norm* I'd think.

How do you come to that conclusion form what the OP actually posted? They just asked for free widgets like Beautiful Widgets, not for any specific widget.
I thought this might be an interesting thread since it's quite a long hard slog through the market looking for widgets, even if you use a site like Androlib to make it easier.

How to get Launcherpro plus free?

there's free alternatives to the widgets you get on LP plus. Colorize Widgets, agenda widget, big faces. the only thing you'd be missing is resizing widgets..
don't steal apps
Agreed.

Sorry, but that's a lame excuse. My 15 year old son has a debit card (and sometimes buys apps). If nothing else (and there are tons of ways to get a debit card), you could get a gift card and use it to buy apps. If you feel you must steal apps that cost less than $10, then you have more problems than just not having a credit card.

I disagree. The LP dev is stupid to only allow paypal payments. I would have purchased it a long time ago if it wasn't paypal only.
I am NOT supporting warez here. Just my $.02 on the paypal only thing. I believe LPP would be used more if it didn't require paypal. At the point that a dev is circumventing the market, whats the market for?

whoa whoa whoa.. speaking out of turn here. Not all devs live in places where they are allowed to use google checkout, or to put paid apps in the market.
Don't call the guy stupid just because of where he lives. His country (Uruguay if memory serves) makes it impossible for him to use the market for a paid app. Paypal is his only viable option.
And pirating any apps is completely pathetic, but of course, it will happen. I wish I didn't see it in forums and threads on sites where developers and consumers so regularly go to support android. But, stupidity will be stupidity...
Furthermore, I'm a little confused by the way the author gets apps from the market. you can't bill to carrier, you have to use a credit card (unless you're on ATT, and even then, a month ago you couldn't). Does your mom buy all your apps? If that's the case, they why can't she buy you this one?

Maybe the author doesn't normally buy paid stuff. I have been on Android for years, and I have only purchased ONE app. I have donated to a few devs that make roms, but I typically don't buy apps. I WAS going to purchase LPP, but once I found out I have to deal with paypal, I quit. It's not worth it for me to go through transferring money to paypal, (3 days) and then making a payment to LPP, only to wait until the paypal payment has been recieved (another day or two) just to get a $2.99 home replacement.

Visa. MasterCard. Go to just about any bank, grocery store, or variety store and purchase one. With PayPal, you don't even need a CC. Just open a checking account.
BTW - I agree paying with PayPal is not the best option. I had a bad experience with an app and I will never do that way again. However, I still will not steal the app.

Umm you don't have to actually pay with your PayPal account, they just do the processing, you can pay with whatever credit/debit card you want. I don't even have a PayPal account and I bought the app just fine using my debit card.
PayPal can be used, can't it? I think these developers work extremely hard and it's difficult, even being broke, to use their fantastic programs and not compensate them for their time and effort.
Think of the position you're in... if your valuable time and hard work went without reward and you got no return on your investment, you'd be upset as well. It's just a couple of bucks here and there. You can EASILY find these on Google but please, don't do it, man.
I'm all for warez when someone is just going to be used once or if I'm uncertain if I'm going to pay full price for something. But if something is honestly worth the money, even my cheap ass will buy it. This world is ****ty enough. Don't go ripping off developers.

Ok, so the problem I'm having is that EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to buy an app that's not in the USA, my bank blocks the transaction because it's foreign. As the majority of the apps I'm interested in are European, this presents a MAJOR problem. Why is it so hard to buy apps, and why hasn't Google thought of a solution to this by now? On the ios appstore, I've never had a transaction blocked even once.
Is there a solution to this? Apparently my bank isn't willing to do some sort of "If it's under $10, we'll allow the transaction regardless" agreement. -_-

Well, they have "traveling mode", but that just unblocks everything and basically opens you up to all sorts of fraud.
Two things seem extremely stupid to me:
1) Google doesn't centralize payments -- this would eliminate the problem altogether. Apple does this, so Google should be able to as well. It's not like this is a 3rd-party market.
2) My bank doesn't have some sort of "under $5" note that they can put on my account to allow any small-amount foreign transactions with no problem. If I had to travel and didn't have time to notify my bank, I'd be completely screwed whenever I got to my destination.

I can find loads of posts relating to restrictions on apple's appstore, where people aren't actually able to buy apps from other countries, even if they're both in Europe.
Don't you have fraud protection?
If I noticed that there was a dubious transaction on my account I'm able to call the bank and have them investigate.
Chances are they'll phone me up regarding it as soon as it happens (had that the first time I bought a € app from the appstore), and if it's fraud and I hadn't been irresponsible with my pin number, they'll refund the money.
What about using prepay CC ?
I can get prepay CC $10,$20,.... etc. at my PostOffice and use that.

{Off topic} Why do people pirate apps?

It really annoys the hell out of me when people like to do so called *cracking apps* when they don't even know that is. Cracking means modifying the source code illegally and using the app for free which would otherwise cost money. You ARE NOT cracking it. You are STEALING it. The developers are working day-night just to make couple of cents but you on the other hand pirating it.
Just go outside and have a deep thought about it. You are willing to spend $50 easily on shopping, whereas, you don't even pay a dime for all the hard work the dev do it for you. It is just stupid. If you found a dollar on the road you wouldn't pick it, but where it comes buying $1 app you google it day and night all day long. I am not a dev but I do understand how it's like. So please please for god's sake stop piracy.
Go go sopa! or not?
Its because they are cheap and don't understand or care that it takes a lot of time and money to develop apps.
In many cases of free apps I wish there was a way to donate to the developer as I hate using something for free that I feel I should pay for.

I have been stealing apps (yea, i don't affraid to admit it, but im not brave of it). Then i decided to start buying them and supporting developers (bought Cerberus and couple other).
It's maybe my problem, but im affraid to provide my credit card numbers to websites such as google wallet to let them pull the money they want. The paypal here was solution, i could charge my paypal account, so they didn't knew anything about my credit card and it was safe. BUT then wild Google Wallet appeared and there's no such option. No money transfer, no transfer from paypal, i have to provide numbers on back of my credit card. If someone in google goes mad, with the provided cc numbers he can pull as much money as he want. I know it sounds riddiculous, but I like safety. I can't relly on their good will, that thay won't abuse it.
So i stopped buying apps, as there is no way to put money on my account.
I use cracked apps just to check if they are worth the money. I treat them as demo. If I like it I buy it.Cheers

There are such things as prepaid credit cards. Just a hint. As an alternative some markets (not Google Play) accept also paypal etc.
Google Play with paypal, at least 20% of us will start buying apps.

this is riddiculous! you don't feel safe to trust google wallett, but you'd trust paypal!!! there's no differencies between those two. they are both corporate giants, if you're paranoid trust neither. or better, don't be paranoid.

Why is my Google Credit payment method declined?

I was trying to purchase game. Cytus to be exact. It's a cool music game and I wanted the full version for lyk $2. Now here's my problem. I have to use my debit/credit card to purchase it. My Google Play Credit has been declined. Or at least that's what it says when I try to purchase the game. It's just this game I'm seeing it with too.
I'm guessing the developer has blocked that payment method. If this is true, then what's the point of Google Play Cards if developers can block that form of payment?
Granted, I'll buy the game later this week. It's just it was bill paying week for me last week, so this college kid don't have an extra $2. That's lunch money. LoL!!
But that's all. I want to know why a developer would block Google Credit as a form of payment... Should I upload a picture?
Here's an image of my Google Credit being declined. If this is possible, then this will render Google Play Cards useless.
Thing's I've checked:
1) Made sure it was under my primary email address since I have multiple email addresses
2)Checked to see if it was the credit itself, but I can use my Google Credit to purchase other apps.
Bump. I am running into the exact same issue. I can't figure out for the life of me why it has crapped out.
The OP already stated why it was happening. Developers on the Play Store have the option to decline certain types of payments - one of which is the Google Credits. I guess there must be a reason for it - maybe a Google Credit isn't actually worth a full Dollar to the developer due to transaction fees or something?

At no point did the OP definitively state why it was happening. He/she merely guessed at why it is happening. I'm trying to find if there's an actual reason so we can see if it can be solved or not.
Anyways, a guy on reddit was talking about his app and I was trying to buy it. Ran into the same error message. I asked him if he knew why it was happening and this is his response:
"Thanks for the feedback, as far as I read it's because Google just support multiple currencies for developers based in some countries, it doesn't support for my country yet, that makes impossible to people pay with carriers and with gift cards ... Hope they fix it soon !"
So maybe this only happens when the app's dev team is based out of certain countries that Google hasn't established all of its services/support yet. I looked the dev up on Facebook and he's in Barcelona, Spain, FWIW. It's still a guess but hey at least we have some more info.
