Xperia S CWM boot problem - General Questions and Answers

Hello Everyone,
I am a new user of XDA and did much reading. I must be honest here, I have been reading quite a bit and love to do some crazy stuff with my Sony Xperia1
I actually had the stock rom for Xperia S which was really slow and problematic. I then loaded the Cyanogenmod 9.1 to try an resolve performance issues. Unfortunately, that was not to be and the system is very slow, unresponsive, and heats the phone up quite significantly even when it is not in use.
Now, when I was loading the Cyanogenmod, I had to copy over the boot.img file along with CWM. I noticed that the boot splash screen now showed "FreeXperia" instead of the regular SONY logo. Also, I was able to get into CWM by tapping the screen upon boot.
Anyhow, due to the poor performance of Cyanogenmod, I decided that I would try MIUI and when I installed, I tried to boot and the phone eventually showed the MIUI splash screen and got stuck on that.
Now, I am trying to get into CWM but that is no longer possible. I want to load another rom and is not working because i can not get into CWM.
Can someone advise to a work around to get back to stock rom so that i can start my hacks again??

Anyone!!??

Not sure if this works on a Sony but you can get it into download mode and flash stock through odin or hemidal

Nope that doesn't work on Sony!
Just Samsung recognizes Odin!
And as for the guy, did you flash the boot.img of cm while using cm Rom
But while you switched to miui
Did you flash back stock or stock based kernel?
As the cm kernel won't work on Miui Rom

[Q] Darn boot problems, MIUI on Samsung Infuse

Forgive the title, I need it to make it interesting to get some views. Now that's said, let me get to it.
I recently tried to flash MIUI onto my Samsung Infuse. I had Infused ROM v.2.2.3. I must have messed up because now I'm having trouble getting my phone to start. When I power on, it briefly shows the Samsung logo (for about 3 sec); then for split second an alternate screen flashes on my screen just before my phone shuts off. Now, I've tried to load CWM(red version) with the 2/3 button technique; however, I haven't been able to get into that GUI.
I have been able to get into the Download screen, for Odin. But, I was hoping there might be some sort of way to solve this problem without resetting my phone to stock.
Questions
1. Can I utilize the Download screen to re-implement or re-flash my ROMs on my phone; without loosing data
2. Is there a way that I can force my way into the CWM GUI?
3 If none of the above are possible, where can I get information Odin for the Infuse; and where can I download the program?
Thank you for reading, and thanks for the help in advance!
Joaquin

Did you follow the directions exactly as it says? Did you ever get into blue cwm and flash miui a second time?

I wouldn't recommend MIUI to anyone who isn't atleast a little experienced in flashing ROMs, and are sure won't panic if they find their system soft bricked.
went to http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/weekly-builds/ downloaded infuse rom using miui build 112230 wiped data, cache, dalvik applied installed galnet miui rebooted does not load stays on samsung logo wiped data, cache, dalvik reinstalled galnet does not work, used blue cwm, returned phone to stock froyo, using odin reinstalled galnet using green cwm, still doesnt work, dont know what im doing wrong, please help, do i need to install gb bootloaders?

Help! boot loop

ok so i rooted a few weeks ago and downloaded the usual apps. super user titanium back up and clock work mod. tried to flash a rom with clock work mod and got the e:signature verification failure message. found a post for a kernal that made clock work mod actually work so i tried to flash a rom. zSimplyAOKPV5_Dark to be exact. now it sticks on boot screen. i have searched for hours and cannot find a way to fix my problem. its my first rooted android and first attempted rom flash and i botched it right off the rip. please help?
Depending on what you did beforehand, you have some options.
If you have backed everything up previously, just flash back to stock with one of the one-click stock roms in the Development section (they're in a sticky).
If you haven't backed everything up, try holding V+/V-/power until it reboots. If it doesn't take you to recovery, you can try to flash a kernel (most likely one that would match the version of android/rom you were running prior to this flash) and see if it lets you into recovery. You'll have to flash it with either Odin or Heimdall, after rebooting into download mode (power off, hold V+/V-, insert USB).
If that doesn't work, though, the stock flashing would probably be your best and/or only bet.
it wont allow me into recovery though i can get to download mode by pulling the battery and pressing just the volume +- and plugging in the usb. i was trying to flash an ics slim rom. thanks for your very speedy response.
i have now tried to flash a stock rom however it is not working from there even with the stock kernal. now it is hanging on the at&t screen.
ok i got it. seems the kernal i flashed to help cwd work properly was the culprit. now i dont know how im going to flash this ics rom im looking at without it.

Flash corn kernel if you have stock gingerbread
Sent from my SGH-I897
The utility in my signature can help you flash the Corn Kernel so that you will have CWM.
I have corn kernal and odin 3 on the computer at home. Ill do that tonight. Any suggestions on a good stable rom for a noob? Preferably ics. I hated posting for fear of being flamed as a noob. My wife keeps making fun of me for it so I kinda have to get it done. I want to fix hers also. Its a great little phone it just seem a bit buggy to me. Very laggy. Thanks for all the help.

Maybe start with a KK4 based rom such as Legend and then move up to ICS after that. I only say that because there is a bug in ICS that could render your internal SD unusable. It's rare, but when it happens you will not be happy.
Still unable to get corn kernal to flash. I've tried a few of your guys fixes but I'm gonna have to get some other updates to my computer first.

[Q] Paranoid android 4.1 is unstable

Call me crazy but maybe I'm missing something.
I have a t-mobile Samaung Blaze 4G. I was running stock+root rom and everything was fine. I downloaded Goomanager to check it out and it had an update (pa_t769-ota-eng.thomas.zip) so like a total noob I flashed it (yes I made a back-up) From that I got Paranoid Android 4.1 and its ok if you download the GApps but now it wont take any flashes for 4.0.4 including the back-up. It gets stuck on bootlogo. It seems like anything with a factory stock bootlogo will get stuck and I want to go back to 4.0.4 because the 4.1 is unstable and reboots randomly alot throught the day. any help would be greatly thanked.
EDIT: I am now running Paranoid Android 254v4 and it is working flawless. Goomanager is also running great. People should check it out.
I had that same problem with paranoid. I even did a fresh install just to make sure I didn't forget something. I ended up just flashing a new rom

[Q] Flash VictoryROM: Stuck Rebooting

This is my first time installing a custom ROM, but I keep following all of the right steps but get the same result.
I have a North American Atrix 2 and it was running 4.0.4.
I have succesfully roooted it and this is what I have been doing:
1) Backup with Titanium
2) Installing Atrix2Bootstrap.apk which is saved from my flash drive
3) Once in recovery mode I will wipe all data, cache, and dalvik cache.
4) I then select unzip from SD card and choose the victory .zip ROM I downloaded
Everytime I do this it says it was successful, then just goes to a black screen after the Motorola screen and keeps restarting.
I've downloaded a the .zip of my stock ROM and use RSD Lite to bring it back to factory default, but I have tried this multiple times and get the same result and cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.
Any input would be great, or if maybe Victory is just a bad ROM. I am really looking for a simple, light ROM that will not slow down the phone or drain the battery.
VictoryROM is for Gingerbread (2.3.6) only. You can not install it on 4.0.4

Thank you very much for the clarification! That explains the issues I've been having.
Is there a comparable ROM for 4.0.4? I know there are other ROMs but I am more interested in a clean and simple ROM that will give me the best battery and just be simple and I'm afraid the newer ROMs will push the RAM on my phone and hurt the battery life like ICS did when I switched from GB

Numa is your only option. aside from stock or a leak. Dev's are focusing on Kexec. and AOSP JB builds.
Sad, as they suck for stability.

Cannot flash stock firmware on ST26i

I'm trying to flash stock firmware on my friend's xperia J, but failed. I tried all version available. And all of them just stuck at "Xperia" loading screen. I waited over an hour and it still there. So i'm guessing it not working. As usually it should boot up around 10mins. I can still flash other rom. Currently on Xperia Premium v3. My friend say it kinda slow sometimes, so i guess stock rom is better than this. I tried using PC Companion, suggested in youtube, but it failed too. Or there is other way switching back to stock rom without flashtool? Baseband version currently unknown. Also looking for other stable and smooth rom without serious bug, links is very much appreciated.
Or it just me doing it wrong?
