[GUIDE] FPSE Compatible games UPDATED 29/07/11

Hi fellow xda members
I thought it would be handy to post a thread with compatibility towards FPSE (version 10.54)
See it as a guide list which games run smooth enough with your Xperia Play.
Remember this is only a guideline for the Xperia Play phones I can't garantuee these games work with other devices but most of them should
I will break them up in 3 category's to give you an idea of what works and what not.
if there is an issue with a game there is next to it always a comment on how to make it playable or why it's not playable
What is FPSE ?
FPSE is a playstation one emulator for android and windows mobile devices
with high compability although some games still have issue's
that's why this list

Well if there is some issue there is a note next to it why not

TONY HAWKS PRO SKATEBOARDING 2 seems to work to, the music stutters sometimes (not much) but I didn't change any audio settings so it's probably me.

Pandemonium,Streetfighter,Syphonfilter are working fine,please add to the list

R-type Delta, Einhander great but needs frameskip

I've been playing with on screen button settings and see you can get L1/2 and R1/2 displayed for games that require L2/R2

Chrono cross fully works. No real frameskip problems.

Tomba 2 works perfectly.
Driver works perfectly.

Persona 2 - Tsumi works fine, juste a few frame skipped when entering a battle.

So when I get the Play where do I get these games from?
Do I have to use bit-torrent as I don't really want to use it, or is there a converter for the old PS1 games that I have?

You could also assign them to your volume rockers and assign multiple keys to one button for example in final fantasy 8 where you need L2 & R2 To escape battle
But ty for the addition and the rest I feel we have a nice list to come

Another update from me, been ripping all my games to .bin with magic iso!!
Loaded: All full speed apart from the music which slows down every few seconds (this seems to a usual thing with games that have cd audio tracks)
Rapid Racer: Same as above
Motorhead: Glitchy graphics and wierd music but still playable

anyone can try PES or Winning Eleven please?

Silent Hill - used to work almost perfectly in older FPse version, only problem was voices in cutscenes were completely out of order and random, made for some really funny cutscenes though!
but since 10.36 and 10.38, the game runs but no controls work at all in-game. even the on screen ones dont work!

NB: Some games developed for different chipsets (e.g. NVIDIA Tegra) can be run on the Note with the help of the Chainfire3D intermediary OpenGL driver (XDA thread). Gameloft games
All of the Gameloft games I've tried so far from the Android Market give the message "Your device is not supported" when you attempt to run them on the Note.
I'd recommend not purchasing any Gameloft games directly from the Android Market at the moment. Instead visit the Gameloft site and purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note version of the game (NB: AFAIK the Note is not currently supported for any games on the Gameloft site as of 13/11/2011).
Transferring Gameloft games from another Android device to your Note
Thanks to famiglia who wrote the original guide upon which this guide is based.
If you already have a Gameloft game installed on another Android device (or you have another Android device on which you can download and install the game) then you can transfer it to your Note with the following method and see if it works.
Prerequisites:
Your Note must be rooted
Titanium Backup is required for backing-up & restoring the applications
Steps:
Make sure any extra required data for the game to launch has been download on your other Android device.
Using Titanium Backup, make a backup of the game.
Copy the game's resources folder (located in /gameloft/games/ and named either "GLOFTXXXX" or the name of the game) and the Titanium Backup of the game to your PC/Mac.
Transfer the game's Titanium Backup to your Note.
Transfer the resources folder to /gameloft/games/ on your Note.
Run the Titanium Restore for the game on your Note.
Submit a game
When submitting a game please include the following the information to help make the list of games more helpful and easier to use (and save me the work!):
Please only suggest games which you have tested and confirmed working on the Samsung Galaxy Note. Do not submit untested games.
The name of the game
A link to the game download/purchase page (required only if the game did not come from the Android Market)
Whether the game has HD or SD graphics:
HD if the game runs fullscreen and the majority of graphics, textures, text and outlines appear sharp and crisp
SD if the game does not fill the whole screen or if the majority of the textures/graphics/text appear stretched, blurry, "blown up" or pixellated (unless this behaviour is specifically intended)
Any common major and minor issues encountered when running the game on the Note (graphics glitches or artefacts, gameplay issues or bugs, licensing issues, crashes etc)

Sprinkle: 1.5 - The THD version with Chainfire3D + NVIDIA plugin from Android Market (com.mediocre.sprinkle)
Hot Pursuit: 1.0.4 - Android Market version with Chainfire3D + NVIDIA (com.eamobile.nfshp_row_wf)

Any fix?
Does anybody know how to fix 9mm or Back Stab HD? I have Chainfire 3D and all the plug ins bla bla. As far as I know, they work on the SII?

Is it possible for anyone to test N.O.V.A. 2 HD as it comes up supported on market but I just want to make sure before spending money. I have even emailed Gameloft but they have not send me any reply as of yet (24 hrs and counting).

Doesn't work.
The issue with most Gameloft games is they check the precise model of your device before downloading the extra data and they have not added the Note yet, so you'll get a message saying something like "Your device is not yet supported. Please request a refund." when you first start the game -- they don't even let you attempt to see if it would work (which it probably would!).
However if you already have the apk + data files for Gameloft games a few will work fine if you copy the data files to your device first then install (Hawx, Hero of Sparta, Dungeon Hunter and Gangstar I have all got running with this method so far, I'll test more later including Backstab and see if this method works).

Just to add to the list i have tried PES 2012 and works perfectly.
Also n64oid is excellent on the galaxy note

Added PES 2012 to the list. All of the emulators (FPse, N64oid, GameBoid etc) seem to work pretty well on the note - N64oid in particular since the games are actually rendered in 1280x800 resolution making them much sharper than they were originally.
Also added Aftermath XHD, MyCountry and XPlane 9 (with Chainfire + NVIDIA plugin).

Wind Up Knight is LAGGY for me in Book 3. Apparently same problem as on SGS2.

I think it's laggy on every phone. Even the dev acknowledges it and says that he is working on a fix.

you can add princess punt to the list of games that works well. theres a THD version, but the one i tested was the one on the market (maybe SD?).
fills up whole screen. only slight fps drop though (runs at around 50fps). its smooth, but the drop was noticeable for me since i had the THD version running slightly more smoothly on my atrix.

Do you know where (which directory) the data files go? as I will try to see if Dead Space works on this beast or not.

It doesn't work like you'd hope. Its just how Scummvm works normally (ie: you tap and drag anywhere on the screen to drag the on screen cursor around.)
Maybe we can ask the dev nicely to add a stylus control method
It does look very nice though.

Games that run good on TPT

Would kind of like to start a list of games that users have tried or suggest for our TPT's running CM9 ICS. Any input is greatly welcome!
So far I've tried:
Shadowgun - works flawlessly with gamepad support
I'm looking to try more preferably with gamepad support but I will try to update this as I go along.

So far I've tried to following successfully (Stock Honeycomb):
- World of Goo
Works absolutely flawlessly, and the Pen was made for this Game!​- Swords & Soldiers (from Humble Bundle #2)
Works fine as well, only you can't disable the SystemBar with e.g. HoneyHide, as the touch events will be off then, this seems to be an issue with a lot of games ported over from iOS​
Under ICS:
- Speedx 3D
No problems encountered, the performance is the same as on HC, so it seems 3D acceleration is working properly ​- Temple Run
No problems of any sort either!​

I have the K1 but these games should all work well on the TPT (since the hardware is the same).

Recently I have been playing local WiFi games with my friends and its lots of fun. ( unfortunately HTC devices do not have local WiFi support. Changing build. prop will help
I want to make a big list of games that support local WiFi and I need your help to check your games to see if it supports a way you can play with your friends simultaneously. I couldn't find any sport games like Fifa football 14 to support local WiFi when iPhone does.

Hello there
Well there are two ways to connect.
Either BLUETOOTH or WiFi
For Bluetooth, the best result is connect your device to another via bluetooth and pair them both.
Then launch the game.
WiFi
Make sure you both are connected to the same WiFi connection and then launch the game and select local WiFi.
This should work as well!

FarmVille2 - Playable ( but experienced LAG sometimes)
Framed - playable ( no LAGS)
Lara Croft Go - Playable ( No LAGS)
Leos Fortune - Playable ( sometimes i observe glitches 5 of 100 times)
LIMBO - Playable (no LAGS)
Sniper Hitman - Playable ( LAGS most of time when Aiming and reloading)
Subway Surfer - Playable ( but new updates are ruining smoothness)
Virtua Tennis - Playable ( No LAGS)
This War of Mine - Playable ( consumes so much juice )

asphalt 8 (high graphics - lots of framedrops only when car is crashed and other minor framedrops while racing)
nova 3 - (framedrops but still playable)
GTA vc (lags a lot even at 50% resolution - 30-33% resolution recommended for smoother play)
gt racing 2 (unplayable - lots of framedrops, but I tried older version, haven't checked latest one)
wild blood (working perfectly)
hitman go (working perfectly)
nfs most wanted (working perfectly)
dead trigger 2(working perfectly)
Disney duck tales (working perfectly)
monument valley (working perfectly)

Almost every game is playable on this device.

Every game I've tried runs just fine. These are just the more graphically demanding games I play without problem.
Dead Trigger 2 - Medium quality, high works as well with occasional stutter in massive battles.
Unkilled - Autodetect
Shadowgun DeadZone - Ultra quality
Modern Combat 5 - High quality
Critical Strike Portable
But I have also played these with no stuttering or lag.

Simple Rockets runs well and Simple Planes plays fine, even without a gyroscope.

Here is some Asphalt 8 gameplay on high setting. Could be smoother, screen recorder software doesn't help. But overall not bad in my opinion.
