After the jellybean update they disappeared and I used to use them all the time!
I'm running The Executioner 2.5 ROM, so a fix that requires root is alright.
Thank you!
Taken from one of the general posts : " If you want the Notification Bubble back just use Root Explorer (or any other File Manager program that allows R/W access) and goto System>CSC>customer.xml (rename this & then reboot) and you will get Notification Bubble back on the Lock Screen." GL!
To get the bubbles back just use a file manager app (I use root explorer), go to System->CS, and rename the file customer.xml. Reboot the phone, and your text message bubble will be back. I don't know if it works for missed calls, as I haven't had any since doing it.
Once you do this, you'll get the help message every time you have the bubble appear. It's annoying. Using Titanium Backup, freeze help, and it will go away.
Needless to say, you have to have root access to do any of this.
Thank you!
How exactly do I freeze help in TB?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Go into TB.
Go to the backup/restore tab. There will be a big list of files.
The name of the file isn't Help, but it is close. On my phone, it was the only file with Help in it. Tap on that file. A new window with buttons on the top will open. Tap the Freeze button. That's it.
I don't have my phone with me right now, so I am doing this from memory. Sorry for not knowing the exact name of the file to freeze.

Alright, thanks. I got the bubbles back but I can't find anything with help in it to freeze. If you get a chance, tell me what the name is.
EDIT: The closest I found was "Package Access Helper." Is that it?

Couldn't make it work. Is this supposed to be flashed or can we just install the apk files?

either way is fine, once you're in a "message" or on any screen that will open the keyboard, once its open tap and hold in the text area till you get a pop up asking what "input" to use, and then select the keyboard of your choice, i would flash it though, i flash install everything lol.
I did the "regular" way that you said (the input method) and it was force closing. That's what I meant by it not working lol. Does it work for sure if I flash it?
I installed both ways. It works but fc when I choose vibrate option.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
flash otherwise itll forceclose
Yes flash it, and u should be ok. Like I said I have yet to see issues with it, but I flash install everything.

yeah i thought it was killing my battery too but it actually messed up not only my notification but quadrant kept freezeing at the h.264 step your best bet is to keep it and if you already deleted it you can re-find the file in any rom zip under system/app
I will rename it... But what is the original one called?

nononono you download w/e rom your using get the sisodrmprovider.apk from system/app and just put it back in system/app with root explorer
I kill the service on reboot and never have any problems with notifications. Running infused 1.5.2. BTW sisodrmprovider.apk is for the drm service not dm (device management) service.
I have renamed a file with the same icon as DM manager. I have rebooted since and my notifications are working just fine.
The changed the file name
From : wssyncmldm.apk
To: wssyncmldm.apkold
Please make this change at your own risk

app info
have any of you guys read the app info on the dm services app?
Hey some may have this already as I've been packaging it with previous work.
It's as close as I cold get to the new Xperia Digital Clock Widget using various font combinations along with Red Wizard's DCW available from the market.
DO THIS:
1. Place apk in System app folder & set permissions.
2. Launch application and set settings according to screenshots.
3. Select widget from desktop.

you tell me how to setting permission..?
Hey monk, first of all are you sure the app is not functioning properly already? There may be no need to mess with permissions depending on how you installed it. Otherwise to answer your question I'm hoping you have root access because it would be necessary to set permissions manually. I'm assuming you do and have dropped the app into the system/app folder with Root Explorer or equiv. If so and you did in fact use Root Explorer just navigate back to the root app (use Root Explorer to system/app/digitalclockwidget), long-press on the app then select "permissions" and check all three from the top down in the first column, only the top box in the second column then leave the last column fully unchecked(sorry I'm on vacation and do not have a way to post screenshot). Alternately you can use ROMManager and just select Fix Permissions to allow it to perform this task for you. The manual method is well worth learning though so I recommend trying that first. If you do not have Root Explorer you will need a file browser that allows root access. The version of Root Explorer that will allow root is paid but well worth the investment. It is an invaluable tool I use on a daily basis. There are others and if needed you could probably find something for free to get the job done, I recommend Root Explorer. Currently on vacation for another week week but I will try and check back to see if I can help further. Good Luck and let me know if this helps. earbrain
thanks for your share, nice
Hi all i know there are various other threads in google on installing whatsapp on a tablet but some of the info seems outdated some is confusing some requires root.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed whatsapp on there 10.1 without root, as stated in the title i have whatsapp on my note 2, can i not just copy the files somehow and paste them into my 10.1? A step by step guide would be very helpful i know im not alone on this as it seems quite a popular problem on google.
This is what i see when trying to install whatsapp normally...

Would there not be a way for someone clever to just modify the installer so it installed on the 10.1?
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
I don't think there's any way to do that as the issue isn't local, it needs a sim card to set itself up with whatsapps servers.
I have it on my N8010 but I am rooted and sideloaded the app using Titanium.

This has worked for me on my Nexus 7 WiFi:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30498475
I just successfully installed Whatsapp on my 10.1 using the following technique which does not require root:
http://androidforums.com/nexus-7/62...-nexus-7-without-root-updated-12-02-12-a.html
You used to be able to back up the app with TiBU on your smartphone and then restore it + data on your tablet. I'm not sure if it still works that way.

Big thanks ... i copied the android forum version but with the latest whatsapp from the official site as i was given a 6 digit code on bluestacks whatsapp not a 3 digit code as stated in the instructions. i did run appguard on the tablet install though as stated and blocked phone permission. i got the code via bluestacks whatsapp on my pc as stated after entering my mob number. Funny thing was after all the effort it didnt even ask me for the code on my tablet. But its working!
BIG THANKS

Thanks for the response. I thought that had worked but no luck. I guess I'll just have to deal with it...
