Screen doesn't turn off after inactivity - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

This seems to be a problem when my phone was stock and on all of the Touchwiz mods including Executioner and CleanROM. My screen does not shut off after inactivity whether it is on the lockscreen or unlocked. This is killing my battery as sometimes it seems to get bumped in my pocket and I don't realize the screen is on.
I have checked all the settings that the phone is supposed to turn off after 30 seconds and I have smart stay turned off.
Anyone have any other suggestions or tips? Thank you!

I had the same problem. A reboot would fix it for a while but it would come back. I did a clean install of cleanrom 5.5.1 and it has finally went away.

Two weird problems

When I started using my Charge today, I discovered two odd problems with it.
Firstly, when I press the lock button (from a locked state), the screen starts dim and then brightens. When the screen is dim, it is completely unresponsive until it brightens about a second later. This isn't particularly horrible, but it is kind of annoying.
Second, I can't rotate my phone anymore. I've checked the settings and the notification tray and they both have auto rotate enabled. It isn't tied to any app as it happens accross the phone.
Both of these issues started today and I didn't make any big changes to my phone. I'm running GummyCharged 1.9.1 (flashed the full Odin) and I'm planning on just flashing it again if no one has any ideas to fix this. Thanks for any help!

The dim would appear to be normal as my phone does it as well although I wouldn't say it takes a full second before its responsive.
As for auto rotate, try deleting ms3c_yamaha.cfg from /data/system and reboot.

I added .bak to the end of the file, rebooted, and both problems are fixed. The screen is still dim and then brightens upon hitting the lock button, but it is now immediately responsive.
Thanks for the help!

Radio issues

I've had the skyrocket since it came out. First in black then I exchanged out recently for the white. And on both devices, it seems whenever the screen times out and turns off, my wifi and 4g disconnect and I have to disable then and re-enable them to get them back on...
Anyone else running into this issue? Other than that, the phone is flawless.
It's completely stock by the way running 2.3.5

Have you looked to see if you accidentally turned off screen rotation? Go to the notification area pull the bar down and on the far right on the top you should see a button that says screen rotation is it green or greyed out if it is green your screen rotation is turned on if not it isn't. Good luck hope I helped out.

No Time-Out, screen is always on

Hey,
Since a couple days ago, my note screen is always on.
It doesn't lock itself or dim itself automatic.
I changed my time-out time to 15sec and have that "camera screen on feature" off.
Can someone help me out here, because it's really annoying and drains my battery

You haven't downloaded anything that would force the screen to stay on? That is the only thing I can think of.

Battery Draining due to Display

Hi guys,
i got a problem with my display. its keep draining my battery. My screen % is at 90 or even more.
Brightness is kept low and screen inactivity is at15 seconds. Any tips?
thanks
edit: im running clean rom 5.6
Master reset your phone if that does not help. Odin stock or any rom and test it.
If none of that ^^ works I'd Odin to stock and return to Verizon. I did that once cuz my last s3 had a faulty radio. They can't really tell after you Odin back I believe.
