What is this?
It's a zip file which you can run from stock recovery. It can install 25-30 apps on system/app partition in 2-3 seconds.
Why do I need it?
Assume you have flashed a new rom. You now have to go through the pain of installing more then 30 apps on your rom one by one. What do you do to automatize it? Use this zip file
Okay fine, What else do I need to know
The system partition is a mere 220mb rom. On a fresh stock rom, it hardly has 10mb of free space. It contains a lot of apps which you don't need. You will need to uninstall those apps from system/app which you don't need to free up space. This freed space can up used to install new apps.
I will be posting a flashable zip file which can remove selected bloatware apps within 2 seconds. Will post it tomorrow.
Customizing the zip file
1) Download sysapps.zip from attachment
2) Open it with winrar/winzip
3) Browse over to system/app
4) Drag drop your list of apps from your hard drive to this folder
5) Winrar will automatically save the archive. It's done. Close it.
IMP: Assuming you have 50mb of free space on system partition, it is still not enough for games and other big apk files. 50mb should be enough to install atleast 30 apps each weighting from 500kb-2mb

Instruction of use:
1) Download sysapps.zip from attachment
2) Place sysapps.zip on root of sd card (root means outside; not within any folder of sd card)
3) Switch off you android device
4) Start your device in recovery mode by holding all three keys at once(up volume + middle menu + power key)
5) Select "apply zip from sd card"
6) Select sysapps.zip
7) Select Yes
8) Reboot
I use titanium backup - the pro version will batch restore with no user intervention
Just push a button it restores all your apps plus you can select which apps to batch restore
plus if you have link2sd installed it will link files to sd as they are being restored

This is faster than titanium backup and more reliable. I know because I switched over from titanium to this method he he he
Used together with this, it automatizes everything. From 1) installing stock rom to 2) Removing bloatware to 3) Installing sys apps takes around 10min

okay, i wrote this simple script to easily fix and regenerate the md5sum of our Nandroid backup to avoid mismatching when restoring it.
Please don't blame me if anything happens on your phone by doing this.
Requirements:
- Terminal Emulator
- Brain.apk
- Experience on flashing
Instruction
- flash the Nandroid_md5_fixer.zip thru cwm or stock recovery
- go to terminal emulator and type "md5fix"
- select your damaged backup and wait until it finish!
02/10/13 UPDATE!

7zip no luck but winrar works.
So the script recalculates the md5 sums. this assumes, that when you switch between various builds of "CWM recovery shell" the md5 calculation somehow calculates kinda "wrong" md5 sums.

Works on 2.3.7 upto 4.2.2(At least thats all I have tested).
Hi,Guys this is an awesome app here let me start by stating.
Advantages of Odexed Rom.
1.Better Battery life
2.Better app performance.
3.lower ram usage.
Disadvantages of Odexed Rom.
1.no themes can be applied(and i mean at all).
2.Lower /system space.
How to Install -Guide-
1) make sure you have a custom rooted rom / kernel with init.d support (scripts must be able to run at boot: it is a folder in /system/etc). It is very important or it won't run pre-boot scripts.
2) make sure that you don't have any themes applied before odexing or you will loose your themed apps after odexing.
3) simply put the apk in /system/app folder with a file browser like "Root Explorer" and ofcourse give correct permissions rw-,r--,r-- and reboot.
4) do a nandroid backup(just added safety) and/or a titanium backup of all user apps and system data
5)Start ODEX ME app
6) follow the onscreen instructions.
7)your device will boot several times or even boot for a long time(Its all normal).
8)to see if you rom is odexed go to /system/app partition and you will see a whole lot of .odex files.

hmm thats actually not really any problem or bug the app converts the dex files to odex files and stores the file onto /system/app basically the dalvik cache of system apps is moved to the /system/app directory. Hence the lower space.

Why this might not work
USB Debugging enabled doesn't mean that ADB has superuser permission.
So, users need to allow SuperUser support for both "Apps and ADB" in Developer Settings. Only then would this tool work.
Admittedly, this would make backups faster, as it is just pulling all the stuff from the respective folders. But, what about if the data is stored in the /sdcard/Android/data folder, or the .android_secure folder. Also, some of the *.apk files of apps, like Subway Surfers and even the official XDA app don't store their apks in the /data/app folder.
oh cool app...thanks for...
is v3 out?
You need to be rooted and I recommend use root explorer
The Automatic Way - Just Download titanium Backup or similar app Select the app and just hit covert to System app and reboot and if it force closes even on reboot go down the thread!!
Manual Way
1) Select the Apk Which you Want
2) Take the apk from SD card and copy the apk to /Root/System or any where in the Root
3 )Click yes When it Ask you Whether You Want to
Code:
The Current Files System is Read-only. Do You Want to remount as read-write and continue the Operation?
4) Select the file and change the permissions of the apk under select permissions
4) Tick all the boxes under read and only the first one under write and click OK
5) It should look like rw-r--r--
6) Then cut the Apk and pate it to /Root/System/app
And reboot and enjoy
The the app force closes (For Example - Swift Key ) go here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661238

Hi, while millions of people wanted to change normal apps into system apps. I want to change system apps into normal apps.
I know this is the weirdest request you never found on xda history. But I need to remove system privilege on Google Photos because it blocks me from controlling background power consumption (only user app can be changed like that). I'm on realme UI 2.0 unrooted, if it has to be root I'd still take your advice. Thanks.
Hi everyone.
Today I'm posting a method to change your status bar, dialer, contacts or any other system app with a custom app that's usually more beautiful and works better. This method, as for me, is much safer than flashing. Also I'd recommend this if you want to avoid the chances of a person at the service center (if you brick your device while flashing a new Rom) detecting that your phone's rooted by finding the recovery installed.
BEFORE I POST THE TRICKS I'LL HAVE TO WARN YOU, AS A FORMALITY THAT ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICE IN ANY WAY DIRECT OR INDIRECT DUE TO THIS POST SHALL BE SOLELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.READ ANY FURTHER ONLY IF YOU AGREE TO THIS.
Why would anyone want to use this method ?
Because the flashing method didn't work or maybe coz it bricked your phone. You might also want to try the lucky patcher method out if you don't want to install CWM or just for an adventure Here's how you do it :
1. First, download the given zip file or the file/folder which has your required SystemUI.apk.
2. Extract the systemui.apk in the zip to ur sd card.
3. Backup ur rom (just in case) and also backup the status bar app using titanium backup (preferred) or copy SystemUI.apk n SystemUI.odex to any location on ur sdcard.
4. Force close status bar/ the system app using defaulttask manager.
[Optional]
5. Use any app like root apps uninstall or titanium backup (preferred) to uninstall the system app status bar or using any root enabled file browser delete /system/app/SystemUI.apk and SystemUI.odex.
6. [mod edit: Lucky patcher references removed]
7. Go to tools, select patch to android, and check the first three options. The phone will reboot.
8.Open the app, Touch the rebuild and install option.
9. Select sdcard n browse to the SystemUI.apk u extracted. 10. From the list of options select install as system application. Click yes when asked to reboot.
11. After reboot you'll see ur new status bar/ newly installed app.
NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS Method to install the framework-res.apk or to install any framework mod as it won't work. Also I personally would recommend that you keep away from flashing/replacing the framework-res.apk as it bricked my phone when I tried to.
DON'T FORGET TO HIT THANKS.
