Afraid to flash roms or mods - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I don't want to flash the HTC one x with a different Rom. I know how with the HTC vivid (which I'm looking to see if maybe we can get some more development on it..) but I see there's processes with updating hboot and I'm just not sure what to even do please help xda-dev community?

Take it slow =p what hboot do you have?

have you unlocked the bootloader?
installed a custom recovery? (TWRP is recommended)
also, are you sure you have the One XL (or AT&T One X), the dual S4 version, not the quad core tegra version or the One X+. If you aren't sure, you should boot to the bootloader and make sure it says "evita" on the first line of green text.

It's an at&t dual core (rogers)

You're saying you don't want to update the hboot. How about a little more information on your phone. Are you completely bone stock? Unlocked and rooted?
Also, what are you looking to achieve if you don't wish to root?

SkizzMcNizz flashed it back to stock when he sold it to you?
So you want to downgrade the hboot from 1.14 to 1.09 but you don't want any type of custom roms?
People will gladly help you but this phone is very confusing so you have to be specific with exactly what you have and exactly what you want to accomplish to try and avoid a pretty paper weight for your desk.

And no, he left it on a Rom. It's on Caulkulins XL rom.... I was told putting international roms on the U.S. at&t HTC One X is bad and could damage the device I really want a Rom ported from the HTC One X plus with sense and jellybean... That's what I'm waiting to do

It's not going to maybe damage the device if you flash an international ROM, you will permanently brick your phone.
And no need to wait for ports (although I would wait), we already have J-Bebs ROMs.

Any kernels yet?

I was wondering if there are any kernels out yet. The kernels for the other one x won't work with this device

Pretty sure we'll need the unlocked bootloader first
You can be 100% sure we need an unlocked bootloader first

That and the kernel source.

Go to htcdev and unlock your phone. Works great on the Rogers phones.

It only works on the rogers phones because ATT is being a pita. Eventually devs or ATT will cave in though. This is too powerful of a phone to be left in the dust. This phone could potentially last more than 2 years with the hardware in this.

Dual Boot , is it possible?

This may be a dumb question, but I thought it would be really cool if it was possible. Would it be possible to dual-boot between a sense ROM and a CM10 ROM with perhaps a script using script manager or TWRP recovery and to fit both ROMs on the system partition would it be possible to combine\collapse certain files that are identical on both of the ROMs? Or is that they completely absurd and ridiculous question?
P.S. I am a horrible speller.

I'm sure its possible... but I think it would be a pain in the butt for the deva

Just not supported for the One X because no S-off. :crying:
Not currently available on our phone, the closest you're going to come is storing any cross-ROM data on your SD card partition and flashing between the backups of two ROMs. Personally I believe that devs should focus on their ROMs becoming so polished that you won't need to dual boot
What benefits were you looking to get out of running two separate ROMs?
Cm10+ sense camera would be awesome.

It's a very practical way of testing new roms and rom updates on a second partition, while maintaining a stable rom on the first partition as your "daily driver".
Hi, I have been using bootmanager on my last 2 HTC phones (dhd and sensation) and its great. I used it to test out loads of different Roms and also had a work based Rom (with mandatory extra software etc) and my own for the rest of the time.
I recently upgraded to the one x and was gutted to find that it was not supported. I am lucky enough to have an s-off version so tried a manual setup but it fails at the first hurdle when setting up phone Rom.
The devs seem to be having some time off and their support mail quota is blown so have not managed to ask them. Shame as they used to be great with support.
If the bootmanager devs or anyone cleverer than I has any ideas let me know otherwise I will report back if I ever get it to work.
Cheers

I'd be interested if you ever get it to work let us know. This forum is for the dual core version know as the htc one xl not sure you have this version or the quad core international version.

Will do. Its the international version quad core, this seemed the closest discussion on this topic.
Cheers

What all is possible?

Hey guys and gals. New to the one x coming from the evolte when it was unlocked and rooted on its first hboot version it was as open as soff was and then it was changed to flashing kernels was not allowed. Just wandering what all is possible for the hox and being htcdev unlocked and rooted? TIA
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Just to be clear you have the dual core NOT the quad core right? What hboot? If you have hboot 1.09 then you can pretty much do almost anything you want.

You can try this app if you don't want to downgrade it looks like it helps people on 1.14 I never used either since I have 1.09 you seem like you can handle them fine.

Is the ATT One X the EXACT same as the One XL?

I am going to root and flash a custom rom for my friend. He has the ATT One X and I am confused by the difference between the ATT One X and the One XL. Can you flash One XL stuff on the One X or vice versa? Is the root process the same?

Yes the Htc one xl is the same as at&t htc one x...l being for its lte capability.
As far as I'm aware the only difference is in the amount of storage. I think the Telstra One XL has 32 GB, and the AT&T has 16GB.

[Q]A stupid question

Hi, I am new to one xl
I bought my phone in Hong Kong and I know that my phone is using a S4 chip.
I also noticed that some of the custom rom requires a AT&T phone
my question is : Is there any different between a AT&T XL and a Asia bought XL? Can i flash those rom on my xl?
Million thanks
Just to make sure, go to bootloader and look for Evita or Endavourou if Evita stay if not go to the One X forum. Also there is no difference between the AT&T, Telus or Asia XL just the name and the symbol above the screen
