The Sensation,XE , and 4G are all essentially the same under the hood.
No need for 3 different forums.

Hi,
You can use any ROM from THIS FORUM on any of the 3 phones.
They are all interchangeable.

HTC Pyramid variants.
HTC Sensation, Sensation XE, Sensation 4G.
Even a little bit of reading would have answered this question.

The 3 phones are:
1. the basic Sensation
2.the Sensation XE
3.T-MOUS Sensation 4G
Sorry, once I get hands on my phone I start reading thoroughly about it. This was just a start to know what I can do with it as I am so into changing roms.

Alright.. cool it. The guy's just asking if it can be done. I've been allover these forums for a while and I never ran across the "goldcard method" for the sensation. It's not that easy to find...

Apologies. I think the gold card thread was closed a while ago, because it doesn't work. Pretty sure there is a link to it in the roll-up thread though. Either way, it is annoying when people don't post threads in the correct section.

Yes, that is the way to make a gold card, but sadly (due to the new security on the Sensation I assume) it doesn't work. It's the same way that is used to make all gold cards. There have been a lot of "guides" showing how to do things for the Sensation, for example use GingerBreak. It's just people taking a guide for a different device and adding Sensation or EVO 3D to the title, knowing that people are looking for it. Extreme laziness on the part of the people who post them.
Hi guys, (possibly) noob question here, but I'm planning to get a HTC Sensation XE when it come out here.
I realize everything about the headset (other than looks and packaging) are the same as the original Sensation. The chipset are the same except clocked higher (which is probably on a software level from what I understand).
Therefore, when it comes to flashing ROMs, can I flash Sensation roms found in this forum into the Sensation XE without screwing it up?

I have flashed the XE ROM into my Sensation and it worked just fine! there is a sticky thread and the team working on that ROM has a Sensation XE Customized ROM as well as Sensation Customized ROM so you will be just fine to flash any!! here is a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
I'm Currently using Android Revolution HD 4.1.3 and i LOVE the HTC Sense 3.5 i even like it more than the XE ROM

I'd rather get an expert's advice than try it myself and risk screwing up the phone, I also want to keep it under warranty for now in case I have any hardware problems within the first few weeks of purchase.

do be honest i dont see it being a problem since when you look at the device it has the same, hardware only differences it is the overclocked chip which i do believe could be hardware, since the software has nothing to do with it. Personally when i had other devices in the pass i have always cross software with the same make and different models and they still work. If you are in still doubt just wait for a while but right now, alot of people are just using the non xe edtion and make it a XE, person i benchmark mine via the Manufacture version and there is no differents in performance...person i say it is a gimmick. Also the headphones are not that anyway, all the headphone dont is just justify the price increase....
Answer to thread starter, No not possible. Both the Sensation and Sensation XE are two different ROM. Even a simple Battery mod for the Sensation would not work on the XE and vice versa. So I don't think it would be possible to flash a Sensation Based ROM.
However RoMS for the Sensation which are based on XE can be given a shot, and let all of us know of the out come
Okay, but before I install any custom rom, i'd have to install cwm first right? Is the steps to do so the same as an ordinary sensation?
Guys, s-off your XE, install cwm, backup, install any sensation rom, if it doesn't work restore nandroid. What's difficult about that?

The original Sensation and the XE are exactly the same phone ,bar some pretty external cover.
So, anything you see in the "Sensation" forums is good enough for your phone.
Almost the same, different size of internal memory I think.

It's a rebranded Sensation with the Evo 3D's Battery, Red accents & Beats Earphones.
It doesn't have 4G.

Yes you can. They're all pretty much the same hardware wise. The 4g is slightly different that it can pick up 4g signal, but any ROM in the dev section will work on all 3 versions.
There are many types of the sensation. So is this thread for all of them? I have the sensation xe, but this thread is also for the xl right? And do the ROM threads have to specify which one its for?
