Seeing as how I came here as a noob, I had tons of questions. Jailbreaking an iPhone is a cake-walk compared to getting an Android phone rooted/flashed. Well, not so much for me anymore. I'd like to take a moment and thank members like InflatedTitan. He took much time and stayed patient with me, answering all of my questions and then some. I appreciate how he didn't treat me like a dope and encouraged me to ask questions.
Because of him, I was able to get CleanRom installed and it works great. So what I'm saying secondary to this is that if you're a newbie--Don't hesitate to ask questions, research a lot and don't do something you aren't prepared to do with the possibility of consequences. After all, it was reading many other people's posts that had problems that got me to research even more.

Thats really not true, I like both of those guys but its not true. Invasion did the first full sense 4 port and is really working hard to fix full rosie. I dont know what the hell saranahai is doing but he helps me a bunch. I have been working on a sense 4 kernel and building from the source. You dont know what goes on behind the scenes brah. Yeah don't see wildchild on here. He has his own thing going. I used his Rom when I had the vivid. This Rom is right up there with CleanRom for sure.

This also is the only rom i run on both my Vivid and my One X. I used to be a big fan of AOKP and CM9 but now i like sense so much better. the eye candy is really nice! every time i take out my phone all my friends cant believe how fast it is....tho most of them have iphones

Registration is just closed right now because of a few offenders starting trouble. It's bad enough that the troubled minority dissuade devs from staying at xda, but now they even start crap at a devs own site. hmmmm.....when will the world grow up???

Yes, I know HTC is confusing you. These phones look the same and have the same name. But the CPU and GPU are different, as is the firmware. There are different sections on XDA for a reason.
Yes, I know there is more development in the International One X forum. It's hard to watch all the progress and not do anything. But there's more development in the Gnex forum. Hell, there's more in the SGS3, and you wouldn't flash a ROM for that phone even though it actually uses the same processor, would you?
If you try, the best you can hope for is a bootloop. At worst, you may hard-brick your phone, because the One X and One XL use different boot partions.
Look, people here want to help, and we understand that weird things happen that may cause your phone to go haywire. But when we see this happening over and over and over and over again, it becomes increasingly difficult to muster up any sympathy, especially when the people doing this really ought to know better.
Okay? Pretty please? The next person who does this is probably just going to get laughed at. Don't be that guy.
UPDATE: On stock 2.20, the boot partiton is write-protected, so flashing an international ROM won't give you a paperweight, but it will fail mid-flash.

It would be nice to think that if one can figure out how to root and unlock the bootloader that one could at least understand the difference between the One X models.

One click methods allow newcomers to skip the learning process altogether. Its like jumping ahead to chapter three. If they do brick their phone then just consider it lesson number 1.

Okay guys, I've run a LOT of roms on four different phones. From my experience I can see that not only is Turge one of the most talented rom devs at xda, but also one of the hardest working.
We all owe him! And he lives in my town
Here's my idea...but first...
Turge: I can totally understand that someone might not feel comfortable doing this, and if so, that's totally cool. Meeting people from the internet is always a gamble. But if you are down, I think it would be fun. (I'm not a psycho, fyi)
K, here's the idea: we pitch in a little bit of cash and basically I take him out for a night on the town. It can be whatever he wants, whether it be a couple of pints and wings, movie, friggin laser tag, paintball, whatever.
The way I figure it, donations are great! but often money just gets gobbled up by bills or whatever. This way we are basically ensuring him to have a good time with our gifts because we are grateful for all his hard work!
What do you all think? Is it too weird, or is it a good idea?
We can figure out the details later if we are all on board.

I wish I owed him, my lol piece of bullcrap xl doesnt like his roms for one reason or another, I've tried every version of viper going back to the OG days when it was first released and my phone acks lika lil chicken head beeyatch on it. I'm jealous of all you getting to enjoy his highly customizable goodness ala awesome cause I'm a flash slut and as you know one xl development is limited.. I hate this phone and the fact that the screen won't let me go to a different device, HTC has the hooks in me for now but dammit my day is coming to up up up to equivalent piece.... Thanks to him I've showed my friends the endless possibilities of a custom ROM. Being 18 and learning all about linux, and android has made me want to learn even more and maybe one day try my hand at a custom Rom. Personally I really appreciate turges& team venoms work and have always been happy with all his releases. I know he has to deal with a lot of vs but thank you for providing an amazing Rom with amazing functionality. It actually be cool to meet you one day turge :good:

Man o man o man o man.. good ole LA... yeah.. did time in ft Polk, guys don't know what chaffing is till they spent a summer in LA.. and bugs.. holy god, the flying insects are like racoons with wings and 10 inch fangs...

Ft Polk? Pshh thats way up north from me.. I can squat in my backyard to drop a yacht and the turd would roll into the gulf I live so close to it.

No trying to be a downer, but I'm not really down with a strip joint...hope you guys understand...lol
Any other ideas? I'm down with hitting Augusta for pints and nachos or whatever, or something sillier like bowling or go carts or something.
Also, my daughter is due to be born in two days, so I'm thinking this would be fun maybe right at the end of Feb or start of march.
