hi..i recently installed flipboard for android tablets on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7..I can change the cache location for internal/external - but it always saves data on internal memory..the Free space info refers to the internal memory and never changes
i'm running rooted stock ICS

Yesterday I have rooted my Galaxy Ace and removed some pre-installed apps and also moved as many apps to the sdcard.
But the internal memory stays full and when I install for example the google docs app (4 mb) on my sdcard there is also added 4 mb to the internal memory.
When I look at App2SD it shows that the app is installed on SD card.
I rooted my device to get more free internal memory but up till now without any result.
What else can I do?
Best regards,
Carola

move dalvik cache to SD-EXT partition in a2sdgui..
delete all apps in /data/local ..
this should work. it worked for me.
yeah... just search how to activate a2sd on your Galaxy Ace... the best way, flash Ketut Kumajaya's CF-Root kernel, and also a2sd files with it... then activate using terminal, and you are done...
Device - P-3113 tab 2 android 4.1.1 build UECLK7
32gb external 8gb internal
Used script to swap memory from here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1961097
All worked fine.
device memory Total 29.69gb apps 2.53gb audio 24k misc files 162mb ? Available 28.63gb
SD Card total 4.56gb Avail 2.86gb
In Apps Manager Device memory reads 1.6gb used - 3.0gb free
I can not install some apps from the GApp store "Insufficient storage available"
I can install from amazon. ( Loaded Dolphin browser ) Started ( I think ) after trying to download Google Chrome.... Failed
Using cwm, wiped davlik and main cache, checked and mounted /data, fixed permissions. rebooted.
Tried to download and install lucky patcher... no luck installing. ( will keep trying )
Nothing help so far. just trying to download and install the sixaxis cntroller app ( very small ) yet a larger file from amazon will install fine.
any ideas? Thanks to everyone in advance.
UPDATE I can install Kunundrum - game app 14mb from GApp store but still not sixaxis controller 147k insufficient storage
This is frustrating when I know I have space. Help Please
Fixed Yeah!
After several methods and hours of reading.. I finally found out what happened. When I purchased my p3113 tab I installed link2sd as I wanted to use my external memory. But after changing the setting to external storage... ( stop me if you have heard this before ) I realized that Samsung Galaxy does not support this function, So.. I deleted the app.
Little did I know that the setting in link2sd were shell commands that set environment variables in the system. so they stayed set to external even after uninstalling the app.
Installed link2sd and found the settings set to external... changed to internal. ( my new swapped external card.. see above ) and everything worked and everything began to install correctly. Hope this helps anyone with similar issues.
Thanks! I haven't had the error on my current fresh rom, but I did get the error on one of the roms I was flashing last week. I also did the same thing with app2sd, before learning it wouldn't work.
If you're hurting for space, backup everything and perform the sdcard/extsd swap, it works great with a fast class 10 card!

AC!D Audio, 32gb, ir working
I m using zedomax's app2sd script for my note 10.1 to swap my storage with a 64gb sdcard. a bug that i find that everytime i reboot my device , my gallery have to rescan and regenerate thumbnail .. this is annoying as i have at least 12 albums in my note2 and each album has more than 50 photos
i have tried to revert back, but i found that my internal storage is not writable anymore.. anytime i capture a screenshot it cannot be saved . after some reading, i found that this is a bug of the script. tried factory reset, clear everything but still no luck
i m just wondering if there are kernel that make our note 10.1 swap storage automatically from boot? (script runs after boot, that's why my gallery will re-cache everytime)
we have something similar in note 2.. like the perseus kernel
sorry for my terrible english
Good companions I have a question and I expose the case. I have an S2, recently gave me the famous message "internal memory full", the easiest solution and suggested in all forums is, "install App2SD and move applications to the external SD". Matter solved. But I have to be in that game forever.
Investigating I saw that the partition for apps is aproximately 2GB and is in / data. Now this issue happens on versions of Android Gingerbread 2 * and down. And ICS version 4.* and on, the phone works with a single partition, where for example if my memory is 16GB, I have aproximately 12GB for personal data and apps and apps data. Then if I want I can install 12GB of applications.
Now, as the S2 came from the factory with Gingerbread (like me) if I upgrade to ICS or JB, the update changes the internal SD partitions to a single partition or maintains the original partitions? (/ boot. / recovery. / system. / cache. / misc. / data.)
All this with OEM Stock ROM. Now if you keep the original partitions then, if I install the ROM via ODIN, I can change the partition scheme to a single partition (as ICS or JB) to avoid the problem of "internal memory free space"?
Greetings and thanks. :good:
Hi
I have an unrooted Samsung Galaxy S2 phone which keeps having a message pop up saying Storage Space Running Out. I have checked the apps I have on the internal Device Memory and as you can see in the screenshots attached below I haven't got many apps installed on the phone now (as I progressively had to delete more and more of them off here due to this problem) so it's not an app problem (for the amount of apps I have installed I should at minimum have 1 Gb and more likely 1.5 Gb of space). I believe due to what I have researched that it is a problem with log files taking up room but to fix it I tried calling the code #9900# and it came up with the message on my phone: Connection problem or invalid MMI code. I don't know where to go from here to free up more space in the device storage part of my phone. (note I have space on the usb/sd section and on my external sd card so that's not a problem only the device storage section)

It's probably due to apps being updated, or maybe you've got app data hanging around from apps you've uninstalled, look in your Android folder.
Also, if your S2 is running 4.1.2 like most other S2's then it's also because you have a limited data partition, you can re-PIT or repartition your internal storage to give more space to data and/or system partition.

Hi thanks for the reply Droidriven. Yes I do believe it could be the app data from previously installed apps but like the log data files I don't know if I can or how to access it without rooting my phone. I know how to delete the data and cache of apps I still have on there (and tried that already) but if there is any remaining from previous apps I'm not sure how to go about that. Also, yes you are right in that my S2 is running 4.1.2 and that it has a limited partition (2GB Device Memory vs 11.50GB USB/internal SD storage). How do you " re-PIT or repartition your internal storage to give more space" and is there any problems that can come from doing this? Could the log files be taking up too much space?

This thread liked below is about the best place for help with S2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/qa-friendly-qa-thread-t1648351
As for the re-PIT, try starting in the thread linked below, the developer there has created a way to repartition the i9100, he has adapted it to work on other models of i9100 and other models of S2, he may have adapted it or can adapt it for your i9100t.
