Hi, has anybody found a way for the calendar app to show other shared calendars from your Google account and not just the main account calendar? I have a few shared calendars from where I work attached to my Google account, but these do not show in the calendar app.
I found a couple of guides on the net from October/November and tried to follow them, but they don't seem to work now.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Seems like Google turned off that feature for new users December 14th?
Any workaround? Seems stupid that my calendar can't be used properly

I've managed to get all my calendars to show by logging into my Windows live calendar, then subscribing to the private ical address of the individual calendars.
This will work quite well for viewing the calendars, but if I need to make changes I will need to log into the proper Google calendar and do it from there.
Hope this helps anyone else with similar problems

Try this https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect
Found here https://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=151674&topic=13950&ctx=topic
I also found gsync manager in the windows store.

Look up the old suggestions on using Chrome/Safari from the desktop to mimic a mobile browser, disable javascript (necessarily to select multiple calendars), and use m.google.com/sync as a mobile site to enable multiple calendars. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that Google doesn't just let you pick these in a somewhat normal manner, but I was able to use that trick to enable multiple calendars to my Surface. Same trick I had to use with my WP7 device before Google allowed it to work from WP natively. Once you make the change it works fine, but you may have to do it again if you have more calendars to sync.
It doesn't work anymore

As most have complained and I have not found any for sure solution I wanted to see if you guys could help.
Picked up my captivate today and went to try and sync my contacts via kies, no matter what I have tried it does not seem to work.
I'm windows XP SP3 framework 4.0 tried reloading drivers, reboots etc.
when I go to the contacts in Kies it says SGH I897 device not supported
Somebody please help
Anybody? I have seriously tried everything to get it to sync via kies, and this basically leaves my phone a useless brick without my contacts.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and kies etc.
HELP?
Honestly, just export you contacts to a .csv file and import them directly to your google account, if you don't have a google account go make one it is free and the best service for cloud computing and mail (storing contacts, mail, bookmarks,etc...), and it will sync ota with your android phone

How do you take the contacts on your phone and import them to .Cvs? I thought about doing this but I didn't see a setting for that on the phone.

If your contacts are already on the phone what is the problem?
But your phone contacts should have sync to your google contacts alreadys long as you have syncd your google account to the phone.

Very few of my contacts are synced to Google because they aren't listed as a Google contact. That is why I personally wanted to do the Cvs file then import to Google so I don't have to manually establish them as a Google contact.

Well my biggest issue with this, is that I already have 500 some odd google contacts on my primary gmail. I have no want or need for the majority of those contacts. So even if I was willing to do it via the CSV method I would need to make one of the other groups my primary contact sheet and not the gmail one.
So i guess i'm just stuck with 700+ contacts?
bueller? anyone?
Anyone get it to work on EB1.03? I know it works on CM7 but it's still waaaay too buggy for me right now to use as a daily.
Doesn't work on the leaked rom either. Doesn't even give the option in the facebook app to sync contacts.

If you read up about the launch of the Nexus S and Facebook, you will see this is because Google removed the sync ability of Facebook. Google is pissed because Facebook displays it's contacts in the address book without storing it locally. Previously, Google gave Facebook special API access to the contacts app, but they have removed it as of Gingerbread. Facebook will have to update their sync so it adds it to the shared contacts of the phone.

Anyone have any ideas?

Google removed the ability in Gingerbread, use something like SyncMyPix if all you need is contact photos. If you need more than that I'm clueless.

Hi,
Been searching like crazy now. Somehow I cant seem to find a good OFFLINE calender that does NOT need to use google calenders engine or servers in order to properly function.
Is there one out there ?
I've tried PURE's calendars and Business Calendar, but they all need an underlying Calendar Engine and all refer me within the app to Googles agenda.
I need an OFFline app that works independently from Google.
Anyone know any ?
Jorte has an option to use the google cal or it's own offline cal.
Hi,
I can confirm that it works offline (tested it). Thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately the text on the widget is very hard to read.
Anybody any other suggestions for offline calendars working independent from google.
Just disable the sync of calendar. And you are done... and please post in Q&A.

I have superlite 5.1 on my 727R and I have 2 accounts in the email app.
The problem is that on the bottom, there is no search option... which is a big problem for me. I've attached a screenshot to demo what I mean.
Anyone know of a fix for this? Is this in all ICS roms?

if u don't know/don't need exchange support, download an app called k9mail from the market (Google play). It gives u essay more flexibility than stock email client, and it has a unified inbox as well as a search feature
If you click at the top and change from Combined View to say one of your accounts, does the search button come up at the bottom then?
Because Im using this AOSP email client and I have no issues but then again I dont have a combined view, I only have one accounts on it (my corporate exchange server).

Try to install haxSync application, Go to your settings and under Accounts add your Facebook account using this app. I was also looking for application that will add all my friends with phone numbers to my contact list, but i guess i will have to program by myself
Thank you haxsync works perfectly
I believe that functionality was remove in stock Jellybean, but as was stated haxSync should work.

Good luck with programming it yourself ;P The Facebook API just doesn't expose phone numbers, so the only thing you could do is scrape Facebook's html, which is shady at best and illegal at worst. If it wasn't that way, I'd have included phone number sync in HaxSync a long time ago
Thanks, Haxsync worked for me also.
