I am sure this has a simple solution but I am a total noob at this. I recently rooted my Samsung Mesmerize and installed Avatar ICS ROM. I downloaded the Circle Battery Widget from the Play Store. It shows up in my Apps panel instead of Widgets. I can add it to my homescreen but when I go to configure it an error pops up.
"Unable to configure, no widget has been found! Please add a widget on your home by Menu/Add/Widgets"
I have searched here and other forums and have found nothing. Can someone head me in the right direction?

Just a quick one.. the mycloud app looks useful, and I'd like to have it handy on my desktop via an icon in one of my circle launcher Widgets.. unfortunately, it appears to be the one app that doesn't appear as a selectable app in circle launcher's settings.. given that it is a selectable app in the main honeycomb apps page, its a bit wired i can't add it.. any thoughts?
crisis over.. its now appeared
Guys, this is probably a retarded question, but I've DL Circle Launcher and it isn't appearing in the widget's list. I literally can't find it.
What am I missing?
Just needed a restart.
Just purchased a Samsung Captivate (AT&T) and noticed that there is not a Tips widget like I've seen in pics for 2.2. There is no option for "Android Widgets" or "Samsung Widgets" or "Tips Widget". So it appears to be missing Is there an apk for it somewhere ?
Push and hold on a blank spot on the screen. Choose what widgets. Then pick the one you want. They are also in the market. Find the one you like and download it.
theres a widget from xperia play before the first update on 2.3.3 before 'themes' was added a standard 4x1 status switcher the usual turning off wifi etc. Much neater than the 3x2 switcher , anyone dump me the apk please?
I'd help you out but I'm on cyanogenmod right now, but I'm pretty sure there was a system dump posted a while ago, you might have some luck there. I had the same problem before switching over and just went with Widgetoid from the market, its highly customisable (and free) the only thing it can't do is directly toggle your gps (gingerbread restriction).

Sorry if this has been covered, but every search just pulled up the main search function issues. What I'm looking for is a way to search for a specific widget installed on the phone.
With GB, a long press on the homescreen would bring up a widget list that could be quickly scrolled through. With the stock ICS setup, the only way to add a widget is to find it by scrolling page after page of widgets until you get to the one you want. If your widget starts with one of the end letters of the alphabet, you'll be scrolling through lots of pages!
I'm surprised there isn't an easy way to search for a specific widget. I checked the search settings and can include installed apps but not widgets. Is there an easier way to quickly find a widget you want to add to the homescreen?
You can try 3rd party launcher like holo or go launcher

I've tried several - most replace the widget tab on the app drawer with the old-style longpress on homescreen to add a widget. But when you do that - the labels on the widgets don't show up! There is some bug maybe because in ICS this is not the designed way to add widgets and the labels show up as white text on white background. You can get around it by press & hold to see the single widget text but it's actually harder than stock ICS. I did read somewhere that if you root, you can go play with some of the files to fix this.
But I was hoping there was an easier way to search for a specific widget Kinda strange for Google to leave that out.
