Hi all, hope you can help me out with this one!
My scenario:
One phone active with small regional carrier(basically DI4G) (1)
One phone active with Verizon (DNA) (2)
One tablet (Nexus 7 Wi-Fi only) (3)
Many devices in pocket with much confusion when anything dings)
I am looking to be able to text from either phone using my tablet, and be able to text from 1 using 2 or from 2 using 1.
My current setup is desksms on both phones using different gmail accounts and tabletsms on both phones and the tablet.
This works OK for texting from 1 on 2 or vice versa, but the tablet can only be signed into one at a time and it is difficult to switch accounts. Does anyone have any suggestions for being able to text from both phones on the tablet at the same time?
Hoping someone else has a situation like mine and can shed some SMS syncing light on this for me It think I've purchased every SMS syncing app in the play store so paid apps are not an issue. Also willing to use multiple apps if necessary.
Thanks for any ideas

Hi kyleco,
you posted the question a while ago; hopefully my reply does not come too late for you.
I have been in a somewhat similar situation and I'll share with you how I solved it. I have two private phones with separate phone numbers like you. Usually I only want to carry one mobile device (HTC One and Galaxy S2) with me but still send and receive texts from both numbers. I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 which I mostly use when I am watching TV and sometime I have my phone laying around the house and not with me.
I've been searching through the Play Store countless times until I found an App that helped me configure my devices so they operate in the way I want. I set up the mysms app(simply search for mysms in the play store) on both my phones and created two separate accounts. Then I installed the mysms app for my Galaxy Tab. Now I can sign into both accounts that I have on my smartphones and send text messages from their number.
To solve the problem with carrying two devices with me I downloaded the mysms mirror app on both phones ('mysms mirror' in the play store - free 30 days trial version available). Now I can sign into each account from both phones. The texts are sent with the phone number that I sign in with into the mirror app.
Pretty cool setup huh?
I hope my reply was helpful to you.

Just got this new AT&T Avail (android 2.3), which I'm really happy with but its not on the list of supported devices to use with the AT&T Address book. Which I wouldn't give a damn about, if the Address Book wasn't needed to access AT&T's "My Messages" app.
So what do I need to do here? Change the IMEI? Yes, I read the sticky, and no, I will not need lube because I am in the legal right of way, because my device is on the list of supported devices for the My Messages app.
I'm not sure if I need to convince the app ( https://market.android.com/details?id=com.voxmobili.attaddressbook&hl=en ) that I own a supported phone, or if I need to convince the server side that I own a supported phone. From my search here on XDA, it doesn't look like installing that app is going to be a cakewalk either. Even people who do have supported devices have a hard time re-installing this app.
Google does all that for you in contacts!
Just search the market for a good messaging app.
IMHO.

Acquiring a functional AT&T address book* is a prerequisite to getting AT&T's cloud service (aka My Messages). What it does is when you get a phone call or sms, you will also be alerted to that phone call or sms via desktop and tablet. The only way to do this with Google is to use Google Voice. The problem with that is the phone calls are routed through Google voice servers and there is a noticeable depreciation in quality.
I spent quite a bit of time looking for messaging app that will perform a similar function. After lots of searching I found android-notifier. Which isn't a cloud service but that's not the main problem. The main problem is that even though it has an .apk, that .apk is only used to broadcast to your desktop receiver. There is no .apk to receive notifications on other android devices (ie: my tablet).
*For further clarification, AT&T address book is a cloud based app. It can also be accessed from the desktop browser. Same with My Messages
The model of phone in in the build.prop in the android software and can be changed. Sorry not a Developer.
It looks like AT&T should update their app for all their phones.

I have 2 Google accounts; one has business contacts (e-mail, infomration, etc) and the other is friends and family (all their info).
Is there a way to switch quickly between one account and the other. For example: During the day when working only my business contacts are loaded on the phone. During the weekends and evening only my friends and family are loaded on the phone.
I might not be explaining this correctly because searching various forums I have not found anything similar to what I'm asking. MY GSIII will be here next week. Time to replace the very first HTC Incredible. (It has been rooted and updated, however the charging port seems to be failing)
Congratulations and welcome to the community!
To answer your question, yes. You'll need to add both your accounts and then in the contacts app, during the week, only display one account and then on the weekend, display the other account.

My wife and I each have our Android phone (S2 & S4), but uses the same Samsung Note 10.1 Tablet.
Is there any application sow we both can SMS from the same tablet, each with our phone?
You could try it with two different apps, MightyText for one user and TabletSMS for the other for example. Not sure if either of those support multiple users.

That's probably the best solution, if both of you prefer Mighty since it sync to Gmail switching user is "as easy" as logging in with a different Gmail.
Another way is to use mighty with the browser in the tablet, I don't think you'll get notifications but to send sms it should work just fine.

Evening all
Have just got a Smartwatch 2 and although I'm loving certain things about it, there are a few things that are proving to be frustrating.
I have paired mine with my Galaxy S4 and sadly the stock email app is not supported on the device. So I migrated my Hotmail account into Gmail (which is supported) but having done so, I can only see the first line or two of any email message. This is the case in both alerts and when I try to read the message.
I've tried K-9 but don't like the look of it on either my phone or the watch, so ideally I'd like to stick with the Gmail app if I can get it working properly.
Anyone else had this issue or know of a fix?
Cheers

Not wanting to bump my own thread, but could anyone let me know if this is a common problem or just limited to me (and some reviewer who mentioned the same problem)?
Thanks
Try Watchit

It's the same for me with my Samsung Galaxy S2. However, via the app WATCHIT, I can read the whole text of the email. Watchit is supposed to only give the notification but it actually puts the whole text, while the specific app of gmail only shows 2 lines...
I am about to uninstall the Gmail App
Can tell me everyone what is the difference between 'toasts' and 'notifications' in the App WatchIt!? Sorry, I'm German and don't know what toasts in this way means. Thanks.

Great tip, thanks for this!
Watchit now installed, Gmail uninstalled and I can now see the full message. Bizarre that this needs to be done but it works!
The gmail app is only supposed to give you the first few lines of the email. It has always been like this - even on the previous smart watches.
Watchit will give you the full email but there is a limitation. If you do not read that email on your phone before getting a second email, you will not get the full email on your watch. Watchit appears to give the same text as what appears in the notification bar on your phone. Receiving more than 1 gmail without clearing the notification will result in watchit not providing the full email to your watch as the information is not available to watchit.
Notifications appear in your notification bar on the phone, meanwhile toasts are those little messages that appear at the bottom of your phone on top of everything and disappear quickly

Hi gargamel26l
Do you have problem on your hp when you activate accessibility to use WatchIt? Whenever I activate accessibility, all video will be very laggy. Any idea how to go about this. Thanks.
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and have an annoying problem with the Gmail app on my Amazon Fire 10hd.
Problem: Gmail app will not download attachments.
No matter what I try, uninstalling, searching through settings, I have never managed in nearly two years, to get this app to download an attachment. I really like the Gmail app, but it is extremely frustrating to have to keep swapping to the Amazon app to retrieve attachments when using the Fire 10. I use the Gmail app on our two Samsung phones and also the laptop, without this problem, so it is indicative to the Amazon tablet. I would not want to use another app after all the years I have used Gmail.
I wonder if anyone may have a remedy for me?
Any help gratefully received.
Oh sorry, just realised, wrong forum. Will post again in Q&A's.
