[Q] Tf300t not turning on since yesterday, is it bricked? Please help!! - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I left my Tf300t to charge yesterday morning and when I came back later, it was fully charged but the screen was blank. I tried to turn it back on by many methods: I tried the "soft reset" method and also poked into the microphone slot to reset it.
But the tablet is not turning on. It turned off by itself yesterday and hasn't turned back on since. I'm clueless and out of ideas. Please help!
When I connect to the computer, it does show up and I can access the files, so I'm still a bit hopeful. I haven't done any tinkering on it(no root or anything, it's on stock) so I'm really confused by what happened!
Please help!!

Sounds like the display. It IS on if you can connect and access the file system.

Do you mean that the display might be corrupted? Shouldn't the tablet still make some sound as I've tried to restart it multiple times? Please provide more suggestions about what I can do, not having my tablet is driving me crazy!
Couldn't it be a software issue? Is there any way I can check through my computer?

try to connect it to a pc via hdmi and see if this is working. Than you should no that is is the display.

Since you can't see anything I would think the only sound you might hear is the ding from charging. You can't see what you're trying to launch so you really can't force a sound. The tablet is whisper quiet when no audio present.
Still Charged Up

Is there any way to check it without HDMI cable? I don't have one.3

[Q] Problem Connecting via USB (AS in...just stopped doing it suddenly) Help?

Ok. So, I go to put some new music on my phone...and when I connect via USB to my laptop it says "USB Device Not Recognized"...I click on that bubble and it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems". Bollocks.
The device is rooted and I am running TheShadowMan's KB5 DeOdexed custom ROM.
I tried three other PC's loaded with the right drivers. Deleted all the drivers and re-downloaded. Tried a different Micro-USB cable. Tried different settings in the phone. Got desperate. Tried Factory Reset. Tried Deleting all user data.
None of that crap worked.
I would just go back to stock...but since my PC isn't recognizing the phone at all...I have no way to do that. I'm almost positive it's the ROM (Or at least...it's the last thing on the list before faulty unit and sending it back in)...but I don't know how to fix that without being able to connect to a PC.
Anyone else run into this problem? Let's fix it together! YAY!
Thanks.
try a restore to your computer to an earlier date? worth a shot. I think theres a program that transfers wirelessly, you can try that. I use adb wireless from the market to run commands.

I'm 99% positive that it isn't my computer...it's obviously the phone.
I'll try the transferring info wirelessly thing...but it will be a temporary fix at best.
So...ended up talking to T-mo and doing an exchange. Still no clue what happened and they didn't really know either.
New symptom, however...
It only turns back on if the Micro-USB cord is plugged in...weird.
Anyways...feel free to leave a comment anyways...I still have the handset for 10 days and would love to try an solve the problem in case anyone else has the same problem.
Did you enable the USB debugging before? If you did, disable it and you can connect with you PC/laptop again.
Yeah, that was the first thing I tried.

[Q] i9023 doesn't ask to connect storage to pc when I plug it in anymore?

I have i9023 runinng stock 2.3.6.
I want to back up some things from the storage but when I plug it ito my PC I don't get the notification thing to click to connect the storage anymore. Just the USB debugging icon pops up.
Any ideas why this is? Don't think I changed anything
Plug the phone into your computer, turn the phone off. While still plugged in boot into fastboot and you should hear your computer make the sound it makes when you normally plug your phone in. Unplug the phone and it should make another sound. Finally plug the phone back in and it should make said noise, click reboot and it should be able to connect. I don't know what causes this but it's happened to me about 3 times and everytime iv done these steps to fix it.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
The only thing worked for me was to remove the battery.
If you done that before, just restart your pc and your phone, and connect them again.
I think you maybe disable some usb service. after restarted it will be fine.
thanks after messing around rebooting the phone etc I think the problem was the computer, doh. rebooted THAT and now all working fine
thanks for the replies =)

[Q] Transformer wont boot withou dock or usb

I'm having a problem with my transformer, it wont turn on withou being connected to the dock or usb to a computer...
I've tried to install another rom but it still keeps the problem.. What can i do?
I've updated to ICS, is there any way that this update is related to the problem? thanks
EDIT: Installing custom rom, downgrading back to HC and it still remains.. What can i do?
Does it work properly after its booted? I mean, can you disconnect it from the dock/PC?
My first thought was "busted battery", but that doesnt quite seem to fit...
You could try draining the battery completely in the tablet, then leave it charging over night (turned off, not connected to dock or PC) and see if that helps.
Sounds like a bad power button. After it turn on with USB or dock connection, does it still stay power on and operate normally?
Yes, its fully operational... I've tried to reset battery stats too...

HELP! Unknown issue.

I have a galaxy s2 skyrocket, yes it is rooted.
My phone ran out of juice last night and I started to charge it.
I had class at 12, woke up at 11 so I turned off my phone to make it charge quicker. a few minutes later it was on. I tired turning it off to no avail. It turns off and comes right back on. I then tried to put it into usb mode so I could copy a few songs onto it....It wouldnt go into usb mode (it recognized the charge, but not the fact it was plugged into a pc) Kies wouldnt recognize it.
Did 3 factory resets, didnt work still same issues.
Also, it wont go into download mode, just vibrates every few seconds until i let go.
any help is appreciated.

Are you running an ICS rom or on GB rom or stock with root?
Stock GB with a root.
What do you mean ran out of juice? It went completely dead and shut off?

That's odd issue. Lets see did ya try to chose the option phone in USB debugging mode then plug your usb cable and check if you get the usb mass storage in the notification bar so you can activate it from there? Also check the drivers in your pc just in case. Sorry if my English sounds bad english not my natal language.
Every action that failed is cable dependent. Try a different "known good" USB cable, or test your same cable with another smartphone. Test On/off while connected, Mass Storage PC connection and Download Mode if possible.

Same problem here and mine s6 is only 26 days old.... support told me it's the cable but refused a replacement... what the hell right?
I have the same thing and have tried a few cables. Did you get to the bottom of the issue? My laptop is a dell xps15 and it happens with W8.1 and Mint17 (on the same laptop).

its the cable.. same issue here..when I use a ps4 controller-cable i have no problem
Yea... I think it has a lot to do with the placement of the port on the phone and and a filmsy input. I tried tried a sturdier cable and it works waaaaay better.
Samsung support did offer to send me a prepaid envelope for my cable. ... then wait 2 weeks for testing... then if it was found to be defective a replacement would be shipped free of charge, but if it was defective due to user abuse then they said they'd send me a repair bill........... SERIOUSLY wtf?
I'm not kidding, this was their solution when I spoke to support.
Well it really was the cable, went out and bought a new one, exactly the same and it works fine, so the one i got in the box was faulty, after some googling it seems this has happened to a fair bit a of people already,
i still use the crappy cable to charge with... although it did stop charging half way through once :silly:
It's a USB Power setting
1. Go to Power Options on your computer
2. Click 'Change plan setting' on your chosen plan.
3. Click 'Change advanced power setting' on your chosen plan.
4. Expand 'USB Settings' .
5. Expand 'USB selective suspend setting' and change it to disabled.for On battery and Plugged In

I tried this and still it doesnt work. I changed the cables , I changed the PC which I am connecting to and still no fix. I keep getting disconnected continuously.
I'm having the same problem with Galaxy S7. It keeps disconnecting data after it has been plugged in a few seconds. It's not a cable issue, I've checked on 8 different cables.

Flash a different ROM. I had this on my s6 e+ on stock nougat. I went to Dr ketan ROM and it stopped
I heard it could be due to using a fast charging cable. The phone attempts to draw out more current than the USB port of the computer allows, forcing it to disconnect/reconnect repeatedly. Try using an older/less-current-rated cable. Alternatively, if you don't actually need to access the files and are just charging the phone, you can go to Window's Auto Play (search in start menu) and set your phone to "Take No Action"
I wanted to throw out a few other tricks to try, for whoever comes across this old thread when googling.
I don't 100% have an idea of why this happens, or why this worked, but it did.
First thing is, the cable really does matter. If you're using a cheapo cable that doesn't do fast charging, or a data-only cable, get a nice cable. If you're using a nice cable, try a non-fast-charge cable or the one that came with the phone.
My fast-charging cable has worked for a while but I recently tried to transfer a large 2 gig movie to the phone's secondary SD card, and it kept disconnecting / timing out.
What worked for me is go to developer options (google it, there's some code you have to enter to unlock these settings) and then usb debugging. It was disabled and I enabled it. The transfer then worked smoothly.
Weirdly, another transfer right after did NOT go smoothly, and the fix for me was to disable usb debugging, then enable it again. Then the file transferred normally, even though it took a few minutes.
Lastly, one file refused to transfer that was sitting in a particular folder. I'd get an error instantly. The folder was the cache folder for a popular video downloading app. Even a tiny text file from that folder, refused to copy. But files from other folders worked. I finally figured out that for whatever reason, the phone (or maybe windows) didn't like copying straight from this folder. Not sure why. Some permissions thing? Anyway - I copied the file I wanted from the cache folder, to a folder I use all the time. Then from this new folder to the phone. Worked smoothly, no error.
Hope these tricks help someone.
