Hello everybody
Sorry to post here, but as a very shy contributor , it seems I'm unable to reply in "HTC Desire/ Desire Android Development/[ROM Port / WIP] - CoolDroid Revolution v9.0 - Sense 4.1" thread ... ;o)
I have a HTC Desire, HBOOT stock version and try to install Cooldroid v9.0
After following guidelines on first page of the thread, and choosed default options during rom install, my Desire still loops with "optimize applications" ...
I tried to check what happened inside my phone through "adb" from my Ubuntu laptop
==> and I saw with "df" command that the "/data" partition ( 40 Mg ) was quickly full during the install : I suppose it's the reason why the install is blocked
==> as a HBOOT stock partitioning is supposed to work, what could I do to avoid '/data' to be filled ??
Thanks for your help and apologies if I misunderstood the rules of posting

Cooldroid two huge for Stock HBOOT
Hello
I answer to myself ... ;o)
I mistyped the size of /data partition in Stock HBOOT : it was 147 Mo , not 40 ...
Anyway, /data is still too small up to have a successful install of Cooldroid (in my case)
So, I decided to "unweight" the zip file by deleting most of mp4 files in /data/local/weather : a dozen of files each more than 2 ou 3 Mo !!!
I successed to install, having some "Locations" FC ( ??? ) and "Weather screen saver" FC - not surprising if I deleted some data files -
Well, I really want to continue , but as long as USB connection (HTC Sync, disk ,...) don't work for me, I search in the forum
Best regards to all of you (and happy new year)
Hello
I'm a nut ...
I didn't read carefully the "way of install" and thought that I should reboot after installed the rom - didn't used to load multiple zip files one by one and reboot only atthe end ... -
So, as mount2sd was'nt loaded, /data was quickly full ...
By loading every zip file without rebooting each time, it's really better !
About the rom, very good work from greeneyes2910 !!
I continue to try to understand why USB connect (and furthermore HTC Sync) doesn't work )
Best regards to everybody ...

Haret system sucks so if you want a full working android system left windows behind you and move to the new android world flash on nand.
With this how-to you will not erase any part of your system but you do at your own risk.
Main problem: screen
For polaris there are 3 type of screen. Usually pola100 (the old one) use panel 1, and pola 200 (09 edition) has panel 3 but ... not always works...
The best mode to test is try to install and after double reboot you have black screen change panel type.
What you need:
phone
sd card (1 Gb or more) 500 mb free
time
Update guide: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/androidhtc/wiki/HowToInstallWithAtoolsHaret

Do we have to delete/remove the install-seq.sh after installation?
Are both files (system & data) cleared with the installation script?
Thanks for the help.
install-seq.sh disable automatically after correct install.
This how-to is fir first install on disk on images so it format both data an system.
If you want to make only un update use bsg select partion and select update.

I believe you should make this sticky

hi there..
i solved the problem..i took an older Z image..and working fine
the problem is that more applications like camera..media player screen adjust don't work..
they try to run..(i mean ..in camera..i can see..but appears a messages with stop working..sorry). i don't know why..
nothing work well
and what about the contacts..how can i get them from my Sim card?
i don't know..
if you can help me will be great.
thx allot for yours assistance.
best regards.
The information from sim card are very limitated (neither pin code works) so if you want to export contact sync before starting with google and configur your google account on android.
old zimage are full of bugs and all developers install android on nand so starting android from haret has many unfixed bugs.
I've been playing around with the haret install for a week or so now, and I've found that, for me at least, it makes a huge difference which initrd.gz file I use.
The one dated 22-05-10 doesn't let me install any zImages newer than 29-04-10. After trying all sorts of combinations of base files with different dates (haret, zImage) and additions to the default.txt, changing the initrd.gz file to the one dated 20-02-10 fixed most of my problems and lets me install the most recent zImage files without a glitch.
No clue why, just that it works.
I'm running a Pola100 with the original WM6.0 ROM still on it, and radio version 1.58.25.14. Yeah, I need to upgrade to at least the official WM6.1 ROM and probably something better. But I'm a newbie at this, so I need to work up some courage first ;-)
hello,
I tried to install android on sd following your instructions, everything seems to go well until the screen where it says:
"Welcome to htc vogue Frøya
touch the android to begin "
I'll try, but the touch does not work, I tried using the d-pad, which does work, but I can only select the language and the emergency call.
zImage as I used: zImage-Frøya-15-07-10
androidinstall.tar as I used: Incubus26Jc's Super Frøya RLS11 Themed
please help me because I would switch to Android!
thanks

I tried it unsuccessfully. Boot starts regulary, always ending on repeating error, looping forever.
I can read something like:

...
Setting function 4 for gpio ... that I don't own
==============
Is it related to which system file ? Loader? Kernel ? Or what ?
Thanks

I used the files mentioned at the very beginning of this post.

Hi all,
i own from almost one year a HTC HD2 T-Mobile with 1024 MB ROM, a friend of mine installed for me the: [ ROM ][4.0.4][720p] NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA V2.3 (Android ICS 4.0.4) on NAND (nothing on SD).
The phone works well but periodically freeze for a some second (no spontaneous reboot) so i decided to update the ROM (i read on Official Thread that last revision is V3.0b) unfortunately i have to perform the update myself (the friend is away for jobs reasons)...
I read a lot of posts and guides (very interesting) and i think to understand almost all about correct procedure to install android from stock phone but i need to understand fully if i need to update the recovery or is enough to flash the .zip rom directly from my present recovery...
The phone info from android setting menu are:
MAGLDR 1.13
IMM76L (NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA v2.3)
Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
Kernel 2.6.32-ics_tytung_HWA_r3
4EXT Recovery v2.2.7 RC5 with partition FS fat32, size 3789 MB, free 291 MB (4Gb microSD)
746 MB Internal Memory (?? the difference to 1024 is used for the sistem partition)
403 MB RAM (?? strange should be 512 MB)
I want to update the ROM to last revision (v3.0b) with everything on NAND i need to perform partition?? My present partition of internal memory is now correct??
In the Official Thread of th ROM is linked also NativeSD Recovery v1.0 for NativeSD users i need to install that??
Which is the safest way to update my ROM..
Thanks in advance for your attention :good:
OK I have upgraded according nexushd2android.tytung site procedure...
I performed Wipe Dalvik Cache and installed V3.0b ROM from recovery..
Everything went fine but, seem i have no more root access to phone (No Frills CPU and some Nova Launcher features that require root access are no more working)
In apps i have superuser installed and seem working...
I checked under Developer Options menu and root access is configured ONLY APPLICATIONS...
I tried all other options available (also rebooting at every change) but no root access available...
Please Help me how can i restore root to my HTC HD2 phone??

I think just because you're lazy one.
Won't more than 30s searching for the latest version, but not sure if it's the best for you.

Dear ModaAli,
Have tried many Custom Roms (cm7, cm9.... till cm11 and also SuperOSR), on my HTC Chacha. Most of the Roms work, few are good and few have some bugs. All the mentioned ROMS are better in many aspects comparing to Stock but are not optimal bugfree or features when compare to Stock.
Thus, after reading a lot (doing since last 1 and half a year), finally, tried and build a MOD of stock rom with the help of DSIXDA Kitchan.
Primary aim was Stock (and Sense) features plus internal space. With the above Modded Rom, till date, I,m happy of the output. If you wish can provide you the link to that ROM. You can PM me for that.
My Rom is based on Stock (with Sense) Rom :
RUU : India 1.20.720.1
Android Version: 2.3.3 (Gingerbread)
Kernel: 2.6.35.10
Language Support: English
And is ..
Rooted
Init.d support
Busybox
and presently using it with INT2EXT (by CronMod) mod on a 768MB ext2 type partition. Thus have ample space to run WhatsApp, Viber, WSP Office, Rom Manager, Battery Meter, Twitter, Facebook, FX file manager and few more apps. But still have 300+ Mb internal memory free (which is actually ext-sd swapped with INT2EXT)

Dear Swashie,
Will upload today and will provide you the google drive link (hope this kind of links are valid).
Regards,
Ricky
Following is the link . . .
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8BfFAtUXk3iaUl0U0FpRUVXUm8/view?usp=sharing
Further, flash the above with CWM after Factory Reset, Clear Dalvik (I prefer formatting Boot, System, Data & ext-sd before flashing any rom for best results). Let it boot once. Then partition and format your ext-sd with your choice of size (mine is 768MB) to ext2 type system. Then reboot and flash the INT2EXT.zip by CronMod. This will enable internal memory to the size of partition you have chosen.
Revert for any help and will try to provide the best what I can.
Regards,
Ricky.
My friend has aChaCha with 2.5.3 version or something similar. Which ROM should i update to which would be stable for a normal user and maintenance free.
Is it easy to install ROMs in HTC. I have flashing experience only with Samsung

I can't get cronmod to work with it. any Ideas? I followed your directions below. I was running link2sd on my stock rom, but I formatted and reinstalled several times. I'm lost...

I tried several custom ROMs. One of the best concerning battery and memory usage was SuperOSR 2.5, but it's only Android 2.x.
For Android 4 i prefered CM 10.1 since you don't have much RAM with CM11.
However I changed back to the standard ROM now since I bought the Chacha because of its keyboard, and none of the custom ROMs had a good keyboard support. There even where problems when using the keys for dialing, re-dialing, entering numbers during a call, searching for apps in the list etc. Plus that you can't use your Facebook-Button (for flashlight in my case).
I don't even miss Android 4 - it seems that all apps I need are available for 2.3.5 so far. Latest apps will have problems with this screen anyway.

So is there a way to use this with sd card? I formatted ext2 has primary should I have made it a logical drive instead also have 100mb linux swap I think it's logical.
Also unrelated to the above is there any way to update to play store and play services to use hangouts or is 2.3 android stuck without play services? it downloads but says its not able to install. I said unrelated but maybe it is related to me using the ext2 as primary instead of logical...

Hi all Android gurus,
I have an HTC One developer edition (sold unlocked & rooted by HTC) since one year (this is a M7 not a M8).
I have kept during one year standard ROM using OTA upgrades. After the last one I (to 4.4.3) I faced many problems so I decided ( bad idea) to switch to a more free ROM. So I tried to install the Cyanogen mod ROM using the windows installer . Installation seemed to be sucessful but the phone was not usable ( all applications were disabled excepted mail & sms so unable to access Play apps or Google Maps). So I tried to use the
Android Revolution Installer . Installation went well , with a single warning at the end with problems while setting some permissions. I tried to reboot but the phone refuses to boot I just have the HTC logo displayed forever (lifetime of the battery).
I wish to try other ROMs but now I can't copy zip images on the internal SDCard because it's not mounted and not seen by Windows or Linux ( I have tried with both OSes).
Is there a way to try alternate rescue ?
The only way to stop the boot phase is a POWER + VOL DOWN reboot it's still usable but can't find a way to start a new installation. I have tried to use the mount USB volume options but the internal SD Card is not seen by the PC (plugged with a USB cable of course).
Your expert tips are welcome , I am quite ready to buy a new phone (probably the HTC One M8), I don't have phone since 10 days.
Sorry if my question seems you trivial but that was my first alternate ROM installation and the result is not very good (it's my fault not developers one).
The status is :
- recovery software is installed and works well
- Internal SD card is usable from recovery but not seen by guest machines
- Repeating the installation procedure causes the same result
- phone is not usable
- I've tried to wipe out apps data & cache but it does not change anything
Kind regards

Hi, first you have to reinstall the recovery, if your phone its not entering in this mode ( what recovery you have?) end after that you have to fix a corrupted DATA partition after you fix this push a rom to the phone end install this from recovery
