mmm, i don t understand... we can use 4G and in every country?
No, 4g LTE is only available in very few places and your One S cannot get it. Forget 4G for at least a year maybe more because it needs all new transmitters and all new bandwidth and all new licences. In the UK it's only available from one supplier EE and only in some parts of some big cities.
4g lte is fine, but I already get 30Mbps download on T-Mobile "4g" so I'm not really concerned

So I'm about to buy a sensation. Are there any differences between the Sensation 4G and Sensation?
Does it mean that the Sensation doesn't have 4g?
and is the gorilla glass only for the Sensation 4g or do all sensations have it?
The only difference is the bands. One is based for T-Mobile and one is based for Att
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
They're all exactly the same except the bands they use according to their carriers the reason why tmobile is the only one with the sensation 4G is because tmobile is the only carrier with the phone that pretends that hspa+ is a 4G technology (which we all know it's not)

ATT calls hspa+ 4G as well

Also whats the best setup rom/kernel?
I use 4g (or atleast what T-Mobile considers 4g) all the time. As far as ROMs and kernels its user preference. Personally I like Eaglesblood, I've used multiple kernels but its looking like the stock kernel is giving best battery.

3G and 4G are the same. T-Mobile doesn't have real 4G. They have a faster version of 3G they named 4G on their own to mislead their customers.
Its software 4g, it just allows a higher data transfer over a 3g connection...

and yet it is still faster than other companies official "4G". Those sneaky guys at T-mobile. How dare they have a faster service and call it 4G.

Does t-mobile charge extra after you're being throttle?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using RCmix7.1 GB2.3.5
no, thats what the throttles for, to slow ur role, lol.
I saw once there was a thread somewhere about changing apn and other things to get around the throttle but idk.
Yea the throttle apn tricks dont work. I suggest just getting the 5gb plan. I use my phone for netflix youtune tethering all kinds of data eating apps and i barely break 5gbs in a month. Thats also with 5 accounts synced as well.

Correction, the throttle trick do in fact work. The only time it won't work is if you are already throttled and try to do the trick. As long as you are not already throttled then it will work.

No lol. Film a video doing a speedtest along with a screenshot from my account with a piece of paper in the video tht says xda. Throttling is controlled on tmos end. Until then, your bluffing.

I actually have a job buddy and I usually pull 10 hours a day. You can easily use that amount of data if you never use wifi!!!

Follow my screenshot and remember to click SAVE. Remember this will only work if you are not throttled yet. If you are currently throttled then you will have to wait till after your next billing cycle for this to work.

This is as far as I'd go. Check my screenshots. I don't know much about Speedtest numbers so maybe one of you can translate it and see if I'm throttled. Mind you those test were just done in my apartment where the service isn't the best.
I've been throttled before and I know how slow the internet gets. Its basically unusable once your throttled since it takes years for pages to load.

Yes and make sure you change the "T-Mobile Data" name to "T-Mobile US" and click save. Are you already throttled? You can check by using the "My Account" app to see if you've reached your data cap.

Thank you sir!!! If I wasn't so lazy I'd do a video with even more proof. Trust me guys it works and I have no reason to lie to you guys.
I was once data capped and I hated it and I did some research and found this trick from another user on XDA in the Samsung Galaxy S II forum.

That depends on the area where you are....in the case you are using a different carrier from ATT you wont get 3g...just edge.
So "lay012" gets 3g because he has AT&T?

For 3G
Tmobile uses 1700/2100 MHz
HTC Inspire uses 850/1900 MHz
So to answer you, there is NO way. Have to get a phone that matches the network.
The stuff they teach you in school 'skimming and scanning' or whatever your teachers called it shouldn't be used in life after school. I didn't see the unlocked for T-Mobile part .-.
I'm on AT&T.

No the bands are hardware dependent. This has been talked about it hundreds of times. A search would have shown this.

I am using AT&T One X now, and I signed up a 4G LTE 2 year contract. However, my phone only gets to HSPA+ but not LTE. I've tried different ROMs, flashing radio, choosing the network type(changing into “LTE only” will only cause no signal), etc... None is working.
Any ideas? I live in Diamond Bar, which there are lots of hills and low mountains... Will the signal be a possible cause for the LTE fail?
LTE can be finnicky with signal, but what APN are you currently using?

With the att ruu, the apn is locked and there is only one. So it is definitely the correct apn. With other roms, I tried all apns but none worked.

Since LTE runs on such a low frequency, if you are even a little outside of coverage area, on the fringe, or in low-lying areas, its very possible that you simply dont get LTE coverage. have you tested or witnessed any other LTE devices functioning in your area?

That is true, but you won't necessarily have LTE data unless you've called customer service and had them activate it for your plan.
