Guys does anyone know a guide to Port ROMs from another devices ,of course I want to contribute too on SGA+ community .I want to Port a CM10 based ROM ,planning to port S|| Stock ROM jelly bean from galaxy Ace
Sent from my GT-S7500 using xda premium
Ace and ace plus are too different. I tried to port cm7, but i got bootloop. I'd suggest you try to port from an msm7x27a device
Sent from my GT-S7500 using xda app-developers app
Can you give me some examples of msm7x27 devices from which I can Port .and can you give me a guide on Porting roms ,some tricks or basics

Also do I need to build ROM from sources
Sent from my GT-S7500 using xda premium
Yes. You should. I tried to do so, but i forgot to execute "make" and nothing worked xD, but maybe you'll be successful. Good luck

Search on google for msm7x27a devices and click the first link. Only make sure the device you want to port from has the same resolution, in case you don't want to compile from source

So I should find one device with same resolution If I don't want to build it from sources ,right ?let's see .thanks anyway

Oh! And if you want to port a rom, they should b the same version.
E.g. : port 4.1 to 4.1 , not 4.1 to 2.3 because you will need a base rom fro ace plus and the rom you'd like to port
Edit : i found a good device t port jb from : htc desire c

In that thread i meant to say that phones are different, but not very, so the ROM might still end up with some errors

Sorry but i am not forcing you or anything... I am not a mod or admin to own the forum... I didn't even said anything like that... I am just politely requesting you to search before posting as same question has been asked many times before... And if you just Google guide for porting rom you will find many results which will help you... No one is here to spoon feed you... Grow up!!!
Thank you...

I dont know if anyone think about it but since we upgraded to jellybean 4.2.2 with kernel 3 the device become slower and more unresponsible and cant be ready for minimal day use.. the stablest rom till now based on 4.1.2 so maybe some guys can contribute to port kernel 3 for 4.1.2 jellybean maybe things will get better
Waiting for your ideas guys

you can use qwerty kernel 3 with losco edition its cm10 and the most stable rom with good battery backup although faster than qwerty based on kernel 2.6.5 and you can play 3d games
Yes kernel 3 is good enough to use as a daily driver but kernel 2.6.35 shows consistence performance without any sod and better battery life and good memory management. This is only my own experience with my device.

anyone tried this ROM from Lola http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452326 ?
most stabe among other available on 4.3
Yes. When it comes to 4.3 Odyssey is a performer with beauty. Best for now. Watch out for WIP ROM by AnyiBillOS with a modified kernel. Silk smooth with good bat life. Still under trial.
