Just got the Philips Fidelio speaker dock for my phone. Its built pretty solid. The usb port is adjustable so if you have different phones that have the micro usb port turned the other way it will fit. There are also little nubs on each side to keep the phone from rocking, and a back support so all the stress doesnt go on the usb port. It was simple to find and connect with bluetooth. There is also an aux input and a usb port for another cable if you need it. The front and rear charger both run at 2A but if you have both plugged into devices it will charge at 1A each. The sound is ok, the bass seems like its trying to hard... haha.... but not bad at all. It is portable also taking 4aa batteries, I havent tried that yet though and dont know if it will charge the phone on batteries.
Some Cons: You have to push the phone down pretty hard to get it to charge. The only buttons on the speaker are power and an independent volume button. If youre closer to the dock than your phone or the screen is off on the phone that could be slightly irritating. The biggest problem that I had was there is a little circle piece of plastic at the base of the speaker and that prevented my phone from charging with the bumper on. But after a little time cutting it it fits perfect with the bumper still on. looks ugly but works.
Best thing its only $50 for a refurbished model at walmart.com free shipping and $6 for the extended warranty. All in all not a bad deal and Im glad I purchased it.

i got the same speakers, the big problem for me is the app for android, it sucks a lot
I love this dock I have it also I've had it for a week now I have no complaints. The sound quality is amazing and the Bluetooth will still work on the other side of my apartment. Its a great buy:thumbup::thumbup: so happy I purchased this over a wireless charging dock. BTW mine charges perfect with a bumper or case on or naked. Once I adjusted the lil movable pegs that go up and down. It works perfect on my N7 also.

You know you don't have to use the app for it to work, right?

I use it too because I like the dock clock options but it's not needed to make it work. Nor is song bird. No issues here using it.

When are we going to see one for the att version? you would think there would be one released on the same day as the phone with the charging tabs built right into the phone.

Be careful, the AT&T version is the XL and the pogo pins are not in the same place. The international HOX accessories that use the pins won't line up correctly.

Cool thanks for the tip. They should be more clear about for what phone it is for.

I bought the Hyperion USB dock and have used it for a few days. It's works fine as expected, but even the slimmest of cases must come off for the device to fit.
Also, to my disappointment, it cannot put the phone into dock mode. It seems as though only the docks using the pogo pins will be able to do that.

thats not true. it has to do with the usb connection not the dock itself.

Is there a dock that does this?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
It's almost certainly either a magnet sensor or NFC sensor that triggers the dock mode - the car kit doesn't even use the pogo pins, but will trigger the car mode app. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the cable, either - the one that comes with the car kit doesn't appear to be anything more than a normal cable with an end molded to fit in the dock.
EDIT: Just ran the magnet I have across my phone with no success, so the Mototrola method is not likely how it works. Some Samsungs use NFC, so it could still be doing that.

The car mode is built into the USB cable using a special resistance on the usb cable with a small standard resistor.
- Dan
10k ohm works good for me
Do like in "penguin.cz/~utx/hardware/HTC_car_dock/" this instruction, but for our phone resistor must be ~ 10k ohm.

many docks do not have it built into it. I found this out when i purchased a dock for my galaxy note that "enabled dock mode" when used, however for me it didn't work. I found out that the issue was that i was not using the cable that came with it, instead i was using my own cable (it was pre routed which is why). After some testing i found that the cable did indeed make the difference. As far as i know i have not found any docks for the one x that have that built into the dock itself, the 2 that i did find, both relied on the cable still.

It's crap like this that's a double punch to the nuts. Why couldn't they just have made it the same pin design?
HTC needs to get their act together...
I love having docks.
It makes my life so much easier having one at the office next to my bed, I dont get the point of making phones with the pins if they are going to take a year to release a dock that uses them (slight exaggeration). Its a joke that the international one has it and not Rogers/AT&T... ugh
Yeah... any information on if / when this stupid dock is going to be out for the US would be nice.
I know it sounds dumb, but this is one of the reasons I bought the phone.

Is anyone elses micro USB port a little wiggly?... By the way im talking about the port on the actual phone itself. I mean it charges fine and everything but it wiggles just the slightest bit. Is this normal?

Ahh. I think ill just have to live with it because this was my second replacement for dead pixels and its near perfect. You can't wiggle it the slightest?
Mine is actually quite tight as well. My two Atrix devices had loose ports but my Galaxy Nexus one was solid. This HOX is actually VERY tight though, which I'm happy about.
They can loosen over time and I'd much rather have one that's more firm than not.
Mine is rock solid with the new charger but if I plug in my old charger cord it is a bit loose and wiggly...

I tried two different chords both sort of wiggly, It charges fine so ill just live with it, Ive had 3 bad onex's and dont want a dead pixel lmao
Mine is almost too tight...hard to remove the chord sometimes. I would keep an eye on it...had a loose micro port on an old phone and it got where it wouldn't charge half the time.

Because phones are smaller? Mini USB had the same problem. If you suck at putting a cord in it will naturally loosen over time.

Yes!! I have noticed this also if you use a third party micro USB cord. The one that comes with the phone is very snug, others not so much.

here's a 1.5ft, that's pretty small
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HM3R3E/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I ordered a few different lengths 1.5, 3ft, 6ft, because the regular usb cables (of which i have a million now) don't seem to charge for **** on the s5. I also got a braided style, flat ribbon style, and of course in neon colors so i can find the correct cable in a pile of others.
Links please for best braided/material wrapped or high quality cable you have found.. Going to order a few since it's impossible to get a wireless back plate right now and hate seeing better cables right after I order lol.. Thanks guys!

I found this one. Only concern is the quality. How can I be sure it's good? It's less than 2 dollars after all. I'd hate myself forever if I ruined my brand new phone because of one stupid cable. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TZVKIS/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_0dEstb0WR6YWE

Btw the braided cable i got doesn't charge more than 1.1 amps. The thicker cables typically will allow full amp draw.
Often times the cheapest cables will end up working perfectly, so don't have any fear there. The phone has a charge controller and will recognize any problems with the cable and prevent flow to the battery.

Basically like pressy, except 1) more buttons and 2) you can put them anywhere nfc will register vs just in the jack.
I never cared for NFC before. I know some people make good use of tags, but there's usually an easier way for me to trigger whatever behavior I want. But I love buttons. I used to own an HTC Touch Pro2 with oh, 80 or so physical buttons. The keyboard was useful far beyond merely typing on. I used to read on the device with it open like a book and turned pages with the arrow keys. Far and away the most ergonomically comfortable ereading experience I ever used. For me, dimple means perfectly placed page turning buttons. I ordered two of the minis.
What could you use more buttons for?

well for the 50% off i got it for its awesome and comparing it to my original smartwatch its great, first impressions of the device are that it performs smooth and good, voice recognition is superb and for what it does i find that its pretty good, apps are not plentiful but that is because the device has been in the market for about a month i think, also the battery lasts a good while but i don't think you'll get away with two day usage, and for now impressions are good and the possibilities of apps are going to be amazing, the feel on the hand is not heavy nor to light and it has a good look, i recommend it, the moto g watch is a good looking device but if specs aren't as impressive as the g watch then looks would only go so far. sorry if it was a bit long but a good answer in short is this device is freaking awesome

well att still has this deal going on so you can still get it and also the phone feels good to hold and before this i had an xperia tl so the jump in size is a bit hefty i might say but the phone feels good and on the ear its good to and speaker quality is good also and idk why i would even need a volume mod so its even louder cause right now it is plenty loud, but overall feel of the phone is that you know its big but it hides its dimensions pretty well, also if you buy it i had an issue with the glass screen protector in which screen was not sensitive enough sometimes, i went to the store and they refunded me the money back and i got the invisishield cause i had those on when i had my s3 and it was a pretty good screen protector but i noticed that the glass one actually i think needs to settle in for a few days before the phone sensitivity feels as it should cause i haven't taken the glass one off yet because it's working heaps better than day one, also if you also get the circle case and tryyy to get it at 50% off also cause the offer is supposed to be for only one accessory not for all the compatible ones then you can try and find a powermat package for the iphone 4/4s which is 10 bucks at att and comes with a powermat base and a battery backup so you can charge your device wirelessly and on the go, some say that when they used that particular powermat their device would charge to 100% but in the night it would discharge a bit but on my first day of use since i bought the powermat yesterday it held the charge at 100% and when i picked it up the battery stats showed that it was off the charger just when i took it off so no issues there, but honestly it is a great device and you'll certainly be happy with it ^^
