Hey guys i got a little problem with flashing my O3D.
Every time i plug it to my PC with downloadmode activated, it only recognices "unknown" device.
I installed all OMAP and LG drivers, please help me guys!
My PC is running Windows 8 64bit
Thanks :good:
Did you try with windows 7 ??

If you open up the device manager and in the menu enable 'Show hidden devices'. It should show the device that is unknown. (If it's the omap 4430 it might constantly disappear otherwise) - you might be able to just forceably install the omap driver. The fastboot zip that flies around the forum here has the omap drivers that you would need if you don't have those yet.
Does this solution work??because i have the same problem with the difference that i use windows 7...Moreover,if someone has found the steps for flashing roms in windows 7,I would be very happy

I haven't actually run into any problems with flashing roms in W7 (x64).
But just use clockworkmod for flashing roms? Use the fastboot loader if you can't access your phone and write the recovery image that way
I did follow all the procedure the flashing starts and at 6% the phone turns off and on my computer it shows usb not recognized and it won't go further I tried many times and the same thing happens. don't know what to do.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64)
Current rom: Stock V20C rooted
please help....
Thanks.
The guide indicates that if you have a device unknown error in device manager that may indicate that you have a bad cable.
Buy a new one and try again.
Keep us posted.

this is an extract from the resurrection guide. See if this helps.
If you plug your Phone on PC without battery, OMAP4430 device appeared for seconds and then disappeared in your Windows Device Manager
(check arsen4oo photo guide in post #3)
On windows 7 sometimes OMAP4430 flashes too fast so you cant install driver.
There is a a windows feature that will help you install the driver easier.
To view devices that were once installed but are no longer attached to the computer, open a Command Prompt window using the Run As Administrator option and enter the command:
SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
Then, from the same command prompt, type devmgmt.msc to open Device Manager. Choose View, Show Hidden Devices. The new instance of Device Manager will show “ghosted” entries for devices that were once present. This technique is especially useful for fixing problems caused by leftover drivers after replacing a network card or video card—you can easily delete the ghosted device or update the OMAP4430 driver.
You are lucky. Mine doesnt even show the OMAP4430 in device manager.

Mine shows up once I have unplugged and plugged it in a million times using the resurrection guide and it never catches it I asked for help in the guide thread and nobody replied so I am sending it to LG maybe I hope they take it and when I get a new logic board I will try again lol but this time I will do the flash tool and flash both files at once not one at a time like somebody said you should I wish someone could team viewer me and see if I got everything correct but no help for me

Mine did this after I installed the ICS update. OMAP4430 flickering in Device Manager. Watch your phone while holding power+vol_up and after about 3 seconds you will see recycling arrows and a bunch of Korean characters. Let go of the buttons as soon as you see it. Then my LG USB serial port showed up and I was able to flash. It seems that getting into download mode changes with each major sw upgrade...
Just one question...
Why are you guys trying omapboot download mode if you just want to flash ICS?
If you want to flash ICS you dont need omapboot just put phone in normal download mode...and for normal download mode you dont need the omap driver :/
Don't do unecessesary steps you are just making your life harder...omapboot download mode is only for bricked phones that dont turn on at all and have no normal download mode...
Mine would boot but couldn't flash correct baseband until I used the guide and the drivers as it wouldn't go into download mode so to me it was necessary IMO may not of been but I didn't know another way and it worked
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Yeah wayno i am not saying you didnt have a problem but i will tell you from my experience so far that people asked me for teamviewer sessions because they "tried everything" and didn't work but at the first 10 sessions i said ok some where missing drivers others didn't know the key combination etc etc..
When i reached the 20 teamviewer sessions it was still the same thing..old drivers, not following procedure etc etc..
At 30 teamviewer sessions the same...
40, 50 until i decided not to have any other teamviewer session because everybody said they tried everything but didnt work but "magically" with teamviewer everything worked (apart from 1 p920 that really had a hardware problem, i fixed that too with a different method).
The bad thing is that people posted in every thread in order to find a solution and actually the solution was to follow the guide (not the omapboot unbrick guide :/, the lg flashtool guide) and that made it difficult for the rest of the users, i had lg flashtool questions in rom thread, in bricks thread, in basebands thread but the right thread to ask actually was the LG Flashtool thread and if they asked there it would be easier for them to get an answer and also for the rest of the users to read..
I know this ICS is a great thing and everybody wants to try it from novice to experienced users but if we don't get organised it just gets out of hand :/ and saying the same thing in every thread is just annoying.
I know the lg flashtool guide is old but i cant make a guide for everything and reading a few pages especially in the end i have also posted there some info.
I totally understand your frustration and it did make it hard my problem was I overlooked a few things but when I got pointed in the right direction a few times lol I eventually found my way. And yes the clutter did make it hard for those who were following the rules and needed help couldn't get it cause there was just too much for the few people who understand it all. But now I got it and am trying to talk my wife into letting me do her phone lol after I failed. BTW awesome job bringing this old thing back to the forums pure genius.

Also it constantly connects and disconnects, any solution to this issue?

well OMAPFlash driver shows on programs and features, but it constantly connects disconnects OMAP4430 in device manager, tried to select folder, but it just disconnects to quick that it ignores my previously selected paths.
I can't flash it, because I can't find that start_fastboot app
/ another issue, if I ignore that OMAP4430 and just carry on step by step, change port to 41 for CDMA and open LGFlashTool.exe for , it just wont open, tried even on xp sp3, still nothing... it's 1.1 version.
^^^^^ scratch that, works now with 1.2 version
now have a question, If I have 170mb kdz for 21e, can I use it in FlashTool? Because to download BIN_LGP920AT-00-V21e-EUR-XXX-Apr-19-2012 , it's gonna be another hour, because where file was uploaded, download speed is so slow...........
I'm running on windows 7 x64
OMAP drivers still was bugged for me, eventho I tried lots of ways to fix it.
eventually, I used smart flash with 21e AP and CP and it flashes successfully
P.S. I do put back battery when flashing starts, otherwise ,it restarts at partition part!!!
about kzd just Google lge kdz ectractor and go read xbsalls ressurection thread again to fix omap flashing too fast.

HI,
Please uninstall all LG drivers, and start again. If you are using WIN7, run it with WINXP SP3 compatibility mode.
Getting the Software upgrade screen is tricky, the timing needs ti be just right for the screen to stay, else it blinks and the OMAPP difficulty starts.
You need to listed to the connect disconnect sounds carefully.
Its not difficult, just that the timing needs to be right for the battery to be inserted.
all the best

Make sure all the drivers from the guide are installed. (including omap driver)
Load the DLL and the rom to lg flashtool.
Listen to the port with LG flashtool's port settings. (One is enough , The icon with a printer cable that's the port settings)
Take the battery out but be ready to plug it back in.
connect the usb cable.
Hold volume up
You're gonna hear sounds from windows in this order ;
1.Connected
2. Disconnected
3. Connected (Again , when you hear this plug the battery back in)
If you did it right then you're now in download mode.
Go to the device manager , find the LG device (I don't remember the name , but there is only one so you'll see it.) and go to properties , advanced and port settings.
Change the port to com41.
Flashtool should take over and start.
For extra guidance , see xbsall's thread ;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
To enter download mode .
Your phone in your hands without anything :-
1- Pull out battery .
2- hold vol+ and keep holding .
3- Connect your phone and you are still holding....
4- Now the phone is connected and you are holding vol+ . Insert battery and keep holding for about 3 seconds . Now the phone in download mode (there are some korean words on the screen) .
That's all

Because you're flashing the baseband before you flash the ROM. Change the sequence , ROM first then baseband. (Just remove the baseband you added on the flash tool ".fls file" then add it again it's gonna be flashed after the ROM )

Help, I cant root it nor use lg flash tool because the usb is recognized as cosmo driver and I need to find the driver software.
Also, I cant seem to get signal since I cant use lgflash tool to flash baseband... Any ideas how?
I can access the sd card though. When I remove the battery and pressed the Vol up button, the OMAP driver keep connect and disconnect too and I cant seemed to install it, I'm using windows 7 bytheway.
Baseband is not XBSA404 but instead its the original korean baseband. I can't flash any baseband too.
This doesn't belong here..
However...
Cosmo drivers = omap4430 drivers
so just install the omap drivers like you did before to flash ics.
Edit: for the connect/disconnect problem..
Just keep battery in, hold vol+ and connect usb (hold vol+ until you see s/w)

Some tips.
Need to use twrp recovery to install stuff. Cwm uses vol+, twrp vol- to enter recovery(or was it vice versa). Cwm old version doesnt work with xbsa404.
I had brick also, lg logo and reboot. WIn 7 found lg serial port. Used flashtool and change port to 41 or if it is that change to 42.
Then flasher should found lg and flash it.
To get network you need new kernel.
OK!

I dont really understand where you stuck exactely and what you did but regarding the cosmo driver:
To install the cosmo drivers for windows xp I downloaded and installed the lg pc suite software ver. 4 something and my phone was connected to the pc under software installation.
For win 7 64bit the driver was automatically installed by windows but you can try lg pc suite with win 7 too.

For the root you need the lge cosmo driver.
It is correct this wy... connect and disconnect all the time. It means it is ok if you installed the driver.
To install those omap drivers you either needs to be fast to click on them when the ti omap appears or there is a solution to see the already attached devices in thr windows decice list, I saw it somewhere here but i do not remember in which thread.

For custom ICS ROMs, yes, you have to first install 'regular' ICS. For that as well as driver install:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195753
Then you can install any custom ROM based on ICS.
You should be logged onto pc as administrator...
hey thanks for the reply i have done all that but the omap driver just wouldnt intall or connect, iive tried a few methods but they dont seem to be working dont know if its through sheer tiredness or now impaitience to get it done but ive now complety baffled myself as im stuck with android guy with a red triangle on boot screen no recovery or anything, not sure where to go from here even to get it back to stock
As described there when it is blinking in device manager you will need to quickly right click on it when it appears then force install it.
