Media players & Bluetooth Controls

Has anyone noticed if bluetooth headphone buttons can control any other music players other than the HTC Player since the update?
I have tried several music apps (Mixzing, Meridian and a few others) that support a2dp control but my headphones will only control the default player. I have even removed the HTC music player completely from the phone (hoping that the button control would get reassigned to another app) but then the button just doesn't work at all.
The only clue I have comes from the "mixzing" player forum:
http://mixzing.freeforums.org/post92.html?hilit=bluetooth#p92
I got my headphones (Sony Erricson HBH-IS800) after the update was released so I don't know whether or not this is new behavior?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this. I'm not a big fan of the default player and would like to get away from it.
I should add that I am using the "Unofficial" Modaco/Obelisk79 2.1c ROM and also the Optimization made by ruskiyab.
I'm curious too. My previous phone (Palm Pre) allowed whatever music app was playing to be controlled via BT. This included Pandora which was very convenient in the car.

I can't get it to work with any other media player including Pandora.
I think I may make a nandroid backup and then flash back to pre-update stock to see if there's any difference.
Don't bother. I checked that my first day with stock ROM. Functions exactly as the custom ROM's do.

Lol! Thanks for the warning. I was about to attempt it while sitting here at Jiffy Lube.
There's got to be a way to fix this. The guy who posted on the mixzing forum sounded like he was onto something with the button priority assignments for the different media players. I don't know how to change these and probably should not mess with it anyway.

[Q] possible to increase volume?

hey guys. i like watching movies and shows on the Xoom. but i've found that unless i'm using headphones, the volume leaves much to be desired for the most part. this doesn't happen when watching youtube videos or listening to music. but anything played through rockplayer or moboplayer (i.e. avis, mp4s, etc) leaves me wanting more volume.
is there a way to increase the volume on the Xoom like there is for the Evo and other android devices through qpst or other apps?
thanks
Try Volume+. It's what I am using.
Just installed Volume+ but won't have a chance to play with it until later. What settings do you use?
You can also use Equalizer from Smart Android Apps. I use this for my general music listening and it automatically adjusts the EQ based on the type of music I am listening to. What you can also do is manually adjust the EQ settings and boost the volume quite a bit. You do have to be careful though as you can easily distort the sound if you boost it too much. The paid version gives you the ability to create and edit the EQ presets and added widget support. Otherwise the free version works great and is pretty feature packed.
I looked through the market for "Volume+" and could not find it. Can you provide a link?

Here it is:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&feature=search_result
My settings on this are:
Speaker Volume Level +4
Headset Volume Level +3
Bluetooth Volume Level +4
I'm sure I could go higher, but there's no need for me to. I've not changed the EQ settings, but it allows you to do that as well. I've used PowerAmp and love it, because of its EQ function. But with this Volume+ I've been using the stock music player and am quite happy. And this solved the low volume issue I was having with my Jawbone Jambox bluetooth speaker.

Awesome catch man! Installed it and I'm loving the increased volume!! That was one of the only problems I had with my Xoom.

Volume Rocker Music Control

Hey there,
I've been searching around for a [insert volume rocker overrider thing here]. I've tried rocking shortcuts from the market, but sadly it doesnt work with com.sonyericsson.music ¬¬ i really like this feature, is there anyway to enable it? Because i've had it with my old walkman phone, and this feature is a must for me; example: When playing a game while listening to music, or while cycling and phone is in pocket, It really takes the piss to get your phone, unlocking go to your widget.
Volume controls on lock screens are to sensitive for me as my phone randomly skips/stops playing music while he's in my pocket.
I'm running WB 3.8 Thanks in advance
I really want it too....

With cm7 you can forward rewind on long press volume buttons.
Thanks for your comment, but as i said i'd like to have it with the stock music player on WB, stock 2.3. Since i don't like the other players like playerpro, poweramp etc. I've tried the playerpro one for 3 bucks didn't work, only works with headset. After that i've searched for a miui music (latest version) port for my rom, no luck again. Tried CM7 (z) but i really like the feel of the stock sony rom.

Allo mate,
I had the same prob as you, as I couldn't use the cm7 roms due to bugs. So wondered if there was an alternative. Did a bit of searching but it seems the only solution is cm7. I need it for driving. The bugs have been fixed so I'm back on cm7.
Seems shocking there isn't another alternative.
If you do find one, post it here. Just for future reference.
Cheers, Ben.

Absolutely. This is a must have!!
I vote for this feature too!
I am using Poweramp though. Any solution that works for Poweramp?
For those of you who don't use the sony ericsson music player: Rocking Shortcuts works for me well, the longpress feature isn't the best, but the double/triple press work well for me using cubed player, and I'm sure it works well with a few other players
gogo cubed!

[Q] MIUI Volume Next Track

Is it possible to have the volume buttons skip tracks in MIUIv4 (ICS). Apparently the well known mod over at miuiandroid is only for GB.
I spotify a LOT and this would be clutch.
I would like to know this too. This is very important for me

This is the only disappointment I have with MIUIv4. I know you can get new players that do this but if the OS would do it then it would work with Spotify and my other less frequently updated music apps.

Disable Audio Ducking

I'm wondering of there is an easy effort that I can do to disable the volume duck that occurs when I receive a notification (while listening to music)
Some ROMs have a setting g for this, but I'm wondering if someone could direct me to the proper file I might edit and turn this feature OFF..
I like my notification sound to just play over the music, or just not bother me..
Thx.

Pretty sure this has to do with what app you're using for playing music, and whether it uses the mediaplayer of your device or it's own custom one.
it's true, I hated the ducking but was able to disable it in PowerAMP settings.

Yeah, PowerAMP uses its own media service.
Is there a music player that has this feature that doesn't cost money? I'll pay for Poweramp if there isn't. VLC for Android, for instance, doesn't have this feature.
Edit: After some trial and error with various programs, I've discovered that MX Player plays back audio without ducking, but a drawback is that it doesn't have dynamic playlist creation capabilities (you need your files ordered in folders). It also plays Opus files, which is something that I was also looking for.
Another app, Rocket Player, will let you choose *between* ducking and pausing (under Settings->Sound->Audio Focus->Temp Focus Action), but it won't let you disable the action completely. That being said, I've found that for audio books and podcasts, I actually prefer pausing to ducking or no ducking, so I like Rocket Player in this respect (same goes with Poweramp).
guys,COS 12+ has this option in their OS. the question is there any xposed modules to do the same action like in COS ?? ( I'm not sure if it's available in CM12+ roms or not ) any idea?
Dirty unicorn have this feature and its working great.
