My PTV3000 is not arrived yet but I know some reports said the need Netgear updating firmware to connect Nexus 4.
But I just watch Youtube that demonstrate Nexus work with Nexus 4.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oqslwDNvTo
Anyone can confirm it ? I can confirm that when I receive my PTV3000 this weekend.
It works with firmware 2.15 for the ptv3000. I bought it couple days ago. Just make sure your monitor is off before plugging in your usb to the unit or you'll get a hdcp fail.

I try 2.2.2 today. My N4 can locate and connet PTV3000 very well. That is great step.

I'm confused. It updated fine. and now it responses to be device as well. my TV says "Connecting to wireless display" while showing green wifi bars and my device says its connected.. but nothing after that..
Although it made a random group named DIRECT-zj .. also while waiting for it to connect, I noticed there's a wireless network available with same name as the that group (DIRECT-zj). It says WPS available but WPS receiver didn't work. its WPA2 encrypted and I cant think of any password. I think i need to connect to that group to proceed??
How do you even update the firmware? I bought it thinking the Nexus 4 would be supported out of the box. The instructions say to use my computer but I dont have a widi adapter. Is it possible to do through USB?
EDIT: Sorry, dont mean to hijack OPs thread, made my own thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35946761#post35946761
Is there any lag with wirelessly displaying 1080p video? Does sound get routed too? Thanks.
PTV3000 Firmware Version 2.4.19 (2013.10.11.) seems to have fixed lots of issues.
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23928
Now it works fine with WiDi and Miracast. (I've had some issues with Miracast before.)
Tested with Nexus4, Nexus7(2013), Bay Trail Z3740, and 3rd gen i3.
Firmware Version 2.4.26 released.
Under release note, Enhancements & Bug Fixes:
- Google Nexus 4 AV skips extremely with local playback. More improvements to SQoS.
- [Google Nexus 4, skipping extremely with local playback] A new SQoS feature has been added to deal with devices that do not interleave encoded audio and video very well in poorer wifi conditions. By default this is enabled, but to disable, set SQOS_ENABLE=0 in /cavium/unsetdefaults, or uboot. Also, SQOS_MODE can be used to set the aggressiveness of the algorithm, SQOS_MODE=1 is less aggressive, while SQOS_MODE=2 will aggressively increase latency and only gradually reclaim latency. SQOS_MODE=2 is the default. SQoS is automatically disabled for Intel and Samsung source devices which have good interleaving, and their own special requirements for keeping latency.
Still skipping extremely for me, anyone else?

Hi there,
I hace a Wifi Note 8.0 with 4.2.2 on it. I got one of those BT keyboards on ebay that also doubles as a case (this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/36068589310...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649)
I connected it and it worked wonders, but when I turn it off and turn it on again, the BT connects, but the keyboard doesn´t type. I have to go to BT setting and set the BT keyboard and the method of input, or have to pair the device again to get the typing to work.
I connected it to my Note II LTE with 4.1.2 and connects and types automatically.
Anyone have experience with this?
THANKS!
Only issue I've seen is at times Bluetooth devices (especially my keyboard) refuses to pair, sometimes is listed as paired but isn't (e.g. kb shows it isn't and doesn't type), and rectified by toggling Bluetooth on/off and reconnecting. In most cases when this happens, scanning for nearby devices returns an instant none or displays a previous search result.
There has been much less occurance since the last 4.1.2 firmware (JZO54K.N5110UEEMF2)

Thanks. Will try turning on and off... could it be the update to 4.2.2?
Depends on what caused it. A regression is technically possible.

Sometimes it works flawlessly. I will restore my nandroid backup of the original 4.1.2 firmware and try using the keyboard again.
Thanks!
How well is it working after rolling it back?

The TWC TV app will not play live TV or On Demand. Instead of playing it just returns to the TWC app menu screen. Is this a known problem? Is there a work around?
Thanks, in advance

I'll be getting mine shortly and I'll be testing it on mine. Is yours rooted yet? The app used to have 3 issues-root detection, HDMI detection and USB debugging=on
No, it is not rooted.
They stopped with the root detection a while ago. I've been using the app on rooted devices for some time now. Hell it doesn't even complain about USB debugging being enabled anymore. As for the issue, I too am having it.
Then it's a video codec issue. That has happened on some devices. Last I checked, a 2012 Nexus 7 had the same issue despite it having the obvious power to handle this app. I noticed the TWC app didn't complain about being on my LG G Pad which is stock but rooted (hated that stupid root check anyways).
The app used to have an old issue where it would engage the video in SD (normal behavior) but then display a black screen as it tried to transition to HD. If yours is straight black, it might be something different. Try contacting TW support and see what they say (fat chance but worth a shot)
I just tested the app on my Moto X running lollipop to see if it was a 5.0 issue it complained about USB debugging but not root and worked fine. The app probably needs to be updated for the k1 soc
It also works fine on my Nexus 7 (2012) running 5.0...must be something about the Shield Tablet
The superior CPU this mediocre baseless app founded by apple can't handle the new supreme

It is also sometimes a ROM issue. I need to try my Nexus '12 again since I have a new ROM on it now. At the time I last tried it, the app would do the channel for a moment and then black out issue.
It worked fine before lollipop, after the update it force closes. Supposedly they've fixed the lollipop crash, but it didn'thhelp me. On the other hand I can use Hulu now!

Just got the update to Android 5.0.1 and it is now working
There seems to be the same problem with all Xperia devices, but i couldn't find much about it with the Z3.
When playing music via bluetooth to a apt-x receiver there is a little break every few hundred milliseconds. This is really annoying and makes it impossible to use it at all. For some reason, sometimes it is just working fine with perfect sound quality. Also, with a non-apt-x receiver there is no problem.
I'm using 5 GHz WiFi and with my S3 and my Note 10.1 2014 or iPhones the connection works perfectly.
I already tried the old Bluetooth fix for the Z1, but it doesn't help.
Do you experience the same issue or do you have any solution?
I'm using the Avantree Saturn bluetooth receiver.
edit: sometimes it works fine for a while and then suddenly, e.g. when i start a game, it starts to stutter
No issues with my Sony SRS X7 Bluetooth/WiFi Speaker ....................unless its not using Apt-X some reason.
It says "connected to aptX-device" if it's a aptX connection
You are right I checked, it says Apt-X device while connecting. So I guess it works fine for me. I have not had any issues.
Thanks for checking! That's strange though, I found some other posts about that issue, mainly with car radios. Maybe it works because you have a Sony speaker
I think it differs device to device I had no issues with a HarmonKardon Onyx Studio either.
On Amazon there are a few people saying they get that issue with that Bluetooth reciever with other devices. I suppose it does not like the Z3.
Mine does not Display Aptx when connecting to my SRS-X5 or My Ecoxbt, which both supports Aptx.
When exactly does it display it?
Sent from my D6616 using XDA Free mobile app
Right as your connecting it. It will say "Connected to Apt-X device" in a notification near screen bottom, and then disappear.
Mine does not display Apt-x.
Edit: I can't seem to upload a pic.

Not the main notification.
It stays for like 2 secs near the bottom of the screen just after it finishes pairing.

US site, by few I mean only 10 or 15 people out 200+ reviews. But I think its safe to say it depends on device to device.
I have a problem with the bluetooth in my car it is always disconnected (Toyota original device) and after a while connect again.
I have a s7 which I use screen mirror to show my phone on my Samsung smart tv. (For reference before you ask tv has no Internet and phones got unlimited data) I mirror my screen with you tube and other video services, two weekends ago I mirrored netflix and watch 2 movies. This weekend when I connect with netflix running it just connects and then disconnects. If I connect then open netflix, as soon as it opens the screen goes black and disconnects. I tried netflix support and they was unhelpful. I also connected my TV and downloaded a firmware update, thinking that was a issue. Phones up to date and all involved devices are up to date.
I wonder about copyright issues with digital media, can't mirror to second screen for recording. I asked netflix, of course he said no. However I don't think he understood what I was asking. Props to him for doing his job, however I needed someone with knowledge of their software.
I also just tried it from my asus tablet and same issue. So multiple devices and same issue, comon item is the tv. I performed a factory reset on my TV and no resolve and updated firmware version.
Like I said before it worked 2 weeks ago, now it doesn't. However youtube, fullscrean, directv, and Hulu all work just fine.
Any suggestions?
Same problem here. I found your post because I am trying to resolve. It seems to be a problem with Netflix, since it's the only app that forces the screen mirroring to close. I hope someone has an answer soon. I just got really hooked on watching Netflix again since we've been able to download their shows and watch later. I don't have internet at home, but can download over wifi at work. Come on, guys! Help us out.

I know I'm on a trial of netflix, however I don't see a use in keeping it... a 5in screen if I can't share to my 70in. Phones to small and tablet isn't much better.
Any one got a idea, come on people need assistance here...
My netflix works fine streaming from both my S7 and my HTC 10, difference is it's a Panasonic Tv. Samsung TV's are a PITA i've found and I struggled to screen cast to two different Samsung TV's with my S7.
Not what you want to hear i'm sure.
I understand what your saying but how come all works until Netflix is open. Once the loading N appears it disconnects and won't reconnect until I close the Netflix app. I will make a video of it tomorrow. I'll also try to track down someone with a smart TV to try theirs.
Same problem here..any info would be greatly appreciated...Hulu direct tv everything else works fine except for netflix..some days it will work most days no luck..my tv is a sharp roku tv and it worked fine until late recently

I understand what he's saying about a Samsung TV, but you got a sharp. Also it's multiple devices and only one single app that's common having the issue. Directv, vudu and full screen works fine, so does youtube.
the cheap is you buy some cheap wireless router and sync with your samsung s7 or make wifi hotspot from your samsung s7 and then connect your smart tv. but remember maybe when you share screen this share send data to samsung and all share that you see it can see samsung too. yestarday i share samsung s7 with my smart tv and when i block the smart tv program it didnt work, so maybe it when you unblock the screen sharing it send all what you see with samsung, and man be carefull becouse when you netflix screen share maybe it record what you screen share, this too do it teamviewer, you screen share with teamviewer but after that teamviewer can see all what you had screen share, and if you ask teamviewer to stop record your screenshare they will lie like obama.

What about sharing from my Asus tablet, also tv doesn't have Internet. Only the Asus and s7, they connect to the TV via direct WiFi connection.
if your tablet support make wifi virtual router then it will work. im glad that your tc donr have internet becouse you pay much money and they spy on peoples and i kust remember if you have laptop then it too can make virtual router, you need to see in windows and in linux.

Has anyone had any success? This seems like a failing issue to get resolved. There has to be some one there smart, I'm a 13 year network administrator and I've hit a snag. I see multiple people with issues, yet no resolution.

Haha brain fart.... I totalled missed the pita... I got it...
Just a thought but is it looking for your TV & phone to be connected to the same WiFi network (through a router) rather than using WiFi Direct? Just a distinction I found when pairing my account with an app eg. Waukitv.

Unless the hardware is relying on it, I don't think so. The only Netflix setting is a selection of internet speed. The purpose of Wi-Fi direct is a private direct connection. Also just got the Android N update and still no difference... Also wow it changed the looks of my phone. Especially the settings window.
I am having the same exact problem. I have a pretty for signal 4G 2 bars, but I still can watch other things using screen mirroring...just not netflix...which is the only one I really wanted to watch. Any luck at all, anyone?

I really hope they have an answer for you. I called the general line on Sunday...got pushed to Verizon...then to Samsung...they all say it is the other ones problem....I am betting on Netflix. Keep us in the loop.
I called Netflix and didn't stop pushing until I made it to a engineer, the only screen mirror software they support is second screen and google cast. Other may work but are found to be unstable and unreliable. I will follow up once I've had a chance to test with my results.
I just got a Pixel, and I'm ready to sell it if no roms support Miracast. Chromecast is not an option - I need a phone that works with the Miracast standard. I have tried to mirror to a LG TV as well as trying two Miracast adapters (Microsoft and generic models). None have worked.
On both the Nougat and Oreo factory images, Rooting and editing build.prop did not work. The adapters/TV are visible, but the connection always fails.
Before the phone goes on Swappa, has anyone had success using Miracast with any rom. I searched, but the only results are those of people asking the same question as me.
Thanks for any info...

I have great news - I was able to get Miracast screen mirroring to work using the CRDroid rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel/development/rom-crdroidv3-2-t3607271?nocache=1). You still need to edit build.prop (add the line persist.debug.wfd.enable=1) and turn on wifi. After reboot, the phone immediately found the TV / adapter, and connected. I was able to mirror my screen, view pics, and a video. Another plus is that this particular rom is incredibly smooth and fast - even more than stock Oreo.
I'm glad I don't have to sell the phone now. Hope this info helps others with this question.

I just got the Pixel 2 XL, but same issue. Have not rooted my phone yet, or any phone actually, but I am willing if this will allow Miracast. Do you think it should work for me? Wifi is not an option so Chromecast is out and Pixel/Pixel 2 don't support hardwired options. What do you think?

This is great news! I always had thought it was hardware driven, but fantastic to hear that software was able to enable it. I wonder if @BeansTown106 knows about it? I believe he is currently compiling the next PureNexus Rom based on Oreo 8.0. Would LOVE to see this feature added in the next revision.

I just got Miracast working with "crDroidAndroid-8.1-20180405-marlin-v4.1" for the Pixel XL. I just went into settings - connected devices - cast - then hit the three dots in the upper right hand corner to 'enable cast'. then on my Fire Stick I started device mirroring. Bingo! Fire Stick shows up as connected. Works with VLC and Youtube testing so far. Sound and video. Rotation of phone to horizontal creates full screen (55" TV) mode. I have magisk 16* installed but there are no settings I used in that app for this to work, just wanted it noted as it is the only none stock app installed so far.

UPDATE: Didn't notice I was in Pixel not Pixel XL forum. Hopefully sailfish works as well.
Web video caster works well for me on all ROMs and I'm using firehound ROM atm, just make sure you turn battery optimisation off for this app and adjust your setting's to your needs. I've tried many casting apps and this one seems to be the most stable best one I've found. See below where you may need to tick boxes to suit your TV/miracast needs. Also make sure you have no other apps running, only this one and that your on same WiFi network too as well other device on same network. Hope this helps
