Can anyone recommend a good adblocked for rooted JB? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I tried ad blocker, which does seem to work, but I'm seeing connect issues with various net aps if its turned on. (Flipboard, and even google play give me network errors if its turned on)
Is there something else most people use?

Give AdFree a look. Been using it for awhile now, works well.

I use the add block feature in ROM toolbox one if the best I've seen.

I haven't had any issues with "Adaway", Adfree worked great for me as well.

I'll check out adfree first.. I think thats what I was using on our old droidx phones.

Ad blocker App

Is there any good ad blockers for non rooted phone. I have looked at some but they don't look all that great...

I think you have to root your device if you really want to live Ad-Free
Unfortunately it's true
I've used Adblock, which uses http proxy, it's reasonable...but no in app blocking

AdFree is a good choice for rooted phones, but since. You haven't got root, I don't think you can have really effective ad blocking... At least, as mentioned above, not in-App.

Sorry forgot to say that it is not for me but for some of my friends personal I use the rom toolbox from jrummy16

Adfree, i don't know if you have to be rooted to use it.

Netflix app not streaming on 4G

So I started a Netflix account last night on my PC it works fine but when I try to stream it on my phone I get an error saying we could not connect to the Netflix service try again later ( some other unimportant stuff ) then error code 12001. I called Netflix and the girl I spoke with said it was an issue with Samsung devices after the newest update. I'm currently running synergy nightly builds the 9/5/2012 build. Was wondering before I revert back to stock if anyone else was having this issue or any at All?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Im pretty sure after the latest update it only streams on wifi.

Thanks for the reply she mentioned something similar to this but not those exact words. What if I download an older apk? Unless its going to prompt me to automatically update the app if that's the case I'll just cancel and use some other service any recommendations?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Actually I think I was wrong before. The update added a wifi only toggle in settings.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The newest Netflix is working fine on both of my Droid Charge and Galaxy S3. The issue is with your phone. It also works fine on my Asus tf700 (wifi and tethering through 4G).
OK can't decide if I want to switch ROMs or just use hulu decisions decisions

Im on synergy 1.7 and use netflix on 4g with no issues ever. Besides draining my batt insanely

Well I did do a dirty flash to my current nightly build I'm gonna back this up and do a clean wipe see if that fixes the issue thanks for the responses I appreciate the help!

Maybe a stupid question but in app settings is the box checked for WiFi only

Unlimited 4g workaround

Unlimited 4g. I'm sure you've all heard about it. I went and checked it out. Apparently the only catch is you can't hotspot. But since I'm rooted and running cm7 I should be able to still use hotspot with a third party app, right?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Tethering is built into cm7, no need for an app.. and you might need to change the user agent on the device you tether so you don't get the tmobile redirect.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
I am on the unlimited 4g, if I use Firefox, default settings, it seems to work fine. IE blows in the first place, but for the sake of mentioning it, and doesn't work, routes everything to a page telling me to buy tethering. I can also torrent just fine. I guess part of it is just the port it's set to listen on, 80, and if there is activity on other ports, so what.
Edit: also, SSL sites work.

I use the hotspot for my laptop and my lady's g2x. She is on the monthly 4g I'm not concerned with using my laptop, it's her g2x that worries me. I don't see how tmobile would catch on. But I wanted to run it by you guys before switching and potentially voiding my contract

so what your saying here is that if i switch to the New Unlimited Nationwide 4g data package i wont be able to tether my tablet to my phone?
That's what they told me but (I may be wrong) if you are using a custom rom or just rooted with a thrid party hotspot app tmobile want be able to detect or stop you, right?

Nevermind catching a tmobile redirect on my laptop. Working on getting around it

I use Google Chrome & change the user agent. Give that a go.
How do you do that without an add-on
I figured it out. I sometimes forget Google answers all.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
bit the bullet and switch to the unlimited 4g plan and i havent had any problems with surfing the web or streaming media on my tablet tethered to my phone. i have gtab 2 with cm10 and g2x with cm7.

Unable to use Facebook on TB with latest app release

Now I am having this issue with my Thunderbolt with the latest FB update. On WIFI no issue, but no go on 4G, wifes HTC Rezound has no issues with the updated version either. This is very frustrating for sure. I have uninstalled the app, cleared cache, pulled battery, etc. I have reported to FB too, but wanted to see if others here are having same issues.
Here's what works for me, I NEVER use the facebook app, I delete it from my phone completely and log on to facebook mobile with my brower and then add it to my bookmarks.
Interestingly enough mine is actually working better than it has been in a while. The only issue I have is when my 4G flutters up and down. I am currently unrooted and stock as if my 4G keeps having this issue I am going to be doing some yelling down at Verizon.
Have you tried using another app like Friendcaster?
Remove, install older version from backup, disable auto update.
Backup often! Airdroid is the bom for that.

Are you rooted and using a ROM? Might be ROM related. I know this is the first time Facebook has worked for me this flawlessly.

Thanks for the replies, not rooted - i didn't have the back up so I'm SOL and will try friendcaster.
Is it legit for me to dropbox it and share?

Does anyone know,.?

Does anyone know how to make an application that will not allow Facebook to be installed? I might be interested in purchasing an application like this or making 1

If you don't want a particular app then don't install it. There's probably no way to block installation of a given app.

What he said. Is there a particular reason you want to block the installation of Facebook?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Though if you had a vendetta (and a rooted phone), you could always just put a Facebook catch-all into your hosts file to black-hole attempts to reach them. Wouldn't stop the app, would stop it from ever actually working and any website connecting there.
I think you would need to sign up for a MDM service. There a few of them out there and they should be able to either block apps from being installed or automatically uninstall it if it gets installed.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Haha sorry I was just kidding but also wondering. Yeah I know how to install apps or not. I was thinking of an app that you can download and then when you did want to download facebook it wouldn't let you. Its really just a joke brotherhood. I don't have a Facebook problem but I see one developing lol.

why would you need that?
