Go into download mode and flash a froyo ROM. The fugumod kernel is not for android 2.3 ROMs that's why your phone went mental

Thank you MicroGeek! I've flashed successfully a stock firmware (2.2)...but I've two simple question,..
1) There is a guide (in an italian forum) that combines Kyrillos ROM + "Fugumod Ultra Pre Release" kernel..how is it possible? (obviously till I flash only the rom it goes all ok)
2) May you suggest me a kernel to combine with Kyrillos rom? I'm searching a kernel that improves battery performance
Thanks a lot guy! :good:
@up on that forum is probably a guide to combine Kyrillos froyo rom(he has a froyo and cm7 rom) with fugumod ultra...
2) I am using my own rom with fugumod ultra 1366 Mhz and my battery lasts 2 days with average usage and 1 day with heavy usage. CPU is set to 780 Max - 156 Min with conservative governor. And the performance is amazing.
If you don't like ultra version try standard, the performance will not be that good but battery will last longer.
Click thanks if i helped.

Kyrillos 10.6 is not froyo-based... (2.3.7)
However my problem now is that i cannot flash nothing except the latest stock firmware (it's the only firmware that let me wake up successfully the phone)... i tried several times to flash Kyrillos but the phone remain in the GT-I5800 splash screen..I don't understand why this happens
Did you try flashing a custom froyo rom ? If you did and it doesn't boot try to flash Zerofill.tar(i think you can find the download link in rkoby's mediafire folder) and then try to flash cm7 or something else you want...

I'd like install an good ROM ..
I currently downgraded from froyo to 2.1 eclair because foryo drained my phones battery very very fast
I'd like to know which ROM to use to have, like all features of froyo and which would give me two benefits : Low Battery Use and Faster Working..
plz can some help?
i am not much pro in these things..
First tell me how's your battery on Eclair? I predict you are using the stock eclair. Am I right?
In my view you should use any good modded ROM like Indroid, kyrillos, G3mod etc all these have nice speed + battery backup, our
you could try Destiny ROM as it claims stability and batt backup over performance.
If you prefer stock then try the deodexed stock roms.
As you have specifically mentioned that you are not a pro, there is a possibility that you are getting low batt backup because you haven't calibrated your batt after flashing the new ROM.
I advice you to deliberate the batt or run few cycles of full charge & discharge after flashing any new ROM.
Best of luck..

I've just downgraded .. so now currently charging it up .. lets see what happens..
What i hate specifically about eclair is that we can't install apps on sdcard
btw can plz tell.. what is OC version and non-OC version..
I have I5801 .. ie 667mhz phone and no GPU..
which one should i install?
also, if i install like Kyrillos ROM.. will i be able to install Froyo or Eclair back if i want to?

OC version is Over-clocked version and Non-Oc is Non-Overclocked version...
In OC version The kernel is tweaked and modified to give a higher performance..
and increase in the CPU freq....(i.e. 800MHz,1000MHz,1200MHz etc)
Non-OC version includes the Same 667mhz cpu freq....
OC gives u better performance as system gets very fast ..but it has its own Disadvantages.....
It's upto you to select OC or NON-OC version.....
If you are happy with the phone response and speed in Its UI then try Non-OC...
and if u want More performance then Try OC one.....
But Read each and every Risks that exists with OC
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266712
OC= over-clocked
Non-OC= non overclocked
I personally recommend you to flash the OC version, a unlike UN the non-OC version you have an option whether to overclock (eg- 1000 to 1200MHz) or you can just set the max speed close to the default clock-rate (eg-700-800MHz). & If u choose the OC version keep your calm & use the overclocking when you need it.
& yeah you can almost always revert back to your eclair when you wish.
I would also recommend you to use apps2sd by partitioning you're sd-card.
Best of luck

I have not installed Cranium Rom and my ratings are normal for an almost stock kernel. Forget about the Adrenaline shot since my kernel doesn't support init.d yet. So maybe Sakindia can explain why your ratings are like that?
By strange result you mean a ****ty result?
I run a 5346,2056,3372 on a 2.3.5 I9001 BUKP1, GINGERBREAD.BUKP2, and I am not realy happy with it.

I have run the cf-bench once again on a stock rom 2.3.4 with stock kernel. the results are: 6125, 2523, 3963.
They are slightly better than with my kernel. So at least I know that my kernel ain't that bad. Maybe the results would be better if the default governor is set to performance. But again, that ain't a good idea for a mobile device I guess.
I run again CF-Bench and i got same results, but for the third time i got 6400 2500 4200 approximately...some glitch of CF-Bench.
But as usual i like experimenting randomly than spending time and effort, like our expert friends here like manveru0, sakindia and others.
My friend manveru0 you re doing great, you work for CWM is essential for getting a step further so to get a good custom rom.
I hope you'll continue..
yes , i did reply in GlaDOS's post , but looks like i've been ignored ...so i have to post here see if anyone could help me with it ...
i was using FRANCO kernel , and then flash GlaDOS both BFS and CFS and 2.2 and 2.3 version , all stcuk , fine , first of all i figure it could be problem due to residual file of FRANCO kernel
ok , then i just flash whole new MIUI ROM with everthing wipe and then flash GlaDOS , but still stuck ...
any idea ?
thanks in advance...
and Merry Christmas to all
Which version of the ROM and kernel?
If you flashed ICS ROM, then it should be OK to flash GLaDOS 2.x. But if you flashed GB ROM you cannot flash the current GLaDOS kernel.
................kidding me ???
i throught there is GlaDOS for 2.3.X ROM ???
You can't flash a ICS kernel on Miui gingerbread base rom, its gonna get stuck. You need to flash an ICS kernel on a miui ics base rom or whatever ics rom your gonna use.
Try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397393
Good Luck !
Wow, so you really flashed an ICS kernel with a GB rom??
Best practices for modding your phone:
1) ALWAYS backup your existing setup before flashing something new.
2) Read, research, read again about what you are doing before you do it. The last thing you want to deal with is a truly bricked phone, especially since it can almost always be avoided.
Not trying to come off as a prick - just trying to save you from a lot of unnecessary grief.

Nope
There is GLaDOS for GB, the latest version is 1.12, which is not in the OP anymore, but you can find it somewhere in that thread.
well yes ics kernel to gb rom, this is kinda embarrassing, i saw other kernel has 2 separated threads or 2 versions so i thought same to glados ....
and thanks for concern and advise, my phone wasn't bricked, I am still able to enter recovery or fastboot, once get there I can pretty much deal with most problem I have encountered

Is there any other boot versions? The samba beta v2 had many to choose from.
Nope. Only one. But I am able to use with Samba boot option. So far so good. never hanged or ghost call.
Just installed over samba rom without any wipe. Used original boot from samba, i never overclock my phone. Everything is smooth, some apps are missing (cell broadcast widget :-( , whatsapp...) and some are added, some NeverWillUse buddy apps etc. I will definetly stay on this rom for some time.

Nice. Would it be possible to make OC and undervolting kernel that will run 1,3GHz cpu and 400MHz gpu on Gingerbread rom as it is on Maximum Velocity froyo rom? I would like to have it on ginger cause I dont want to downgrade and flash Froyo baseband. It would be nice in a final Samba rom.

The kernel released by LG, for Ginger 21A ... does not work, does not the network coverage, and they have not fixed or released other.
I have search in this forum and googling it about my problem [ not big problem actually ], but not yet found proper thread or answer.
After flashing ROM version V5.2 and try to boot from recovery, i got my button key now blinking while booting.
But after booting complete is normal.
Currently use V5.2 with baseband 18A, and it works normal in my O3D device.
Button is also working normal, except search and back button is mixed function.
Do you guys ever has similar blinking led? is it absolutelly normal,
or just i have not yet found some issues in my device...
thank you for any feedback ( if there is any link for fixing search/back button improvement, it'll be better )..
mine is blinking too while booting, think it is normal.
if you want normal buttons, you should install a kernel with 4 button support. then back and search isn't switched.
blinking = normal
4 keys fix: flash this Kernel but read the Instructions carefully!!
ps you dont have to use exactly that kernel but its the one i use/like

i guess you flashed iodaks kernel..
No it wont really harm your phone but it will drain more battery.
And its not really smart to keep the min @1,3ghz.. make it min 300mhz and max 1,3ghz iodak made his kernel so, that it raise to max freq. every time you touch the display, so theres no need to make min freq 1,3ghz.
Edit: oh and choose for governor Hotplug and for i/o sheduler sio (best combination if you ask me..)

hi bensmokie , TMProduct1onZ..
as in my 1st post, i've xbsall ICS now..
and read many post for fixing 4-keys (changing kernel )..
by yesterday, i found this tools... here
my question is :
1. can i use it directly to flash kernel to fix 4 keys? the kernel is based on iodak's kernel.
2. i've read iodaks kernel zipped format. but it should need to install wkpark bootloader
3. i can boot into recovery mode, could i install iodak zipped kernel directly from recovery mode, without doing #2 step?
thanks..
