Bugs: You tell me..
READ CAREFULLY:
Ok kernel: You will get a corrupt kernel in this rom simply because kernel devs use the latest NDK release to make kernels. This in turn corrupts the wifi and Bluetooth. So to fix this you will install the rom and then go download either V4.2 or V0.6r from samno's kernel page it has to be those two as only none + kernels will work with this. Remember you must let your phone boot and you must set up your phone before flashing Samno's kernel to fix your wifi and bluetooth.. Remember also that the kernel must be a 21D kernel..
THE FILE SAYS VERSION 1 BUT IS ACTUALLY 1.1 I FORGOT TO CHANGE FOLDER NAME!!
Download Link: https://hotfile.com/dl/155052526/288e9a2/Typhoon_Version_1.zip.html
About theme or themes i have found that i cannot make everyone happy with my choice of theme. So instead i have decided that from now on all my roms will be stock. But good news is i will make a video soon on how to customise your own UI with UOT kitchen.. Keep an eye out for that too ..
How to install:
Before you even start you must make sure you have any V20 baseband or any V21 baseband.
1. You must be rooted to root there are plenty of guides that can be found in the general section please have a look.
2. You must have CWM installed guides can also be found in the general section.
3. Switch off your phone.
4. Once turned off hold the power + Volume down key together till it turns on then let go of power whilst still holding the volume down key.
5. Once in CWM you must wipe everything.
6. Install the new rom that you have downloaded from your SD card.
7. When installation is done restart and enjoy.
I'll have some
meemo you're on fire with these roms mang! keep up the great work
I flashed this over the clean rooted chinese V20G, and when I try to turn on Wifi it says "Error" and obviously doesn't work. I wiped data, cache and Dalvik cache when in CWM, flashed the zip and rebooted. I also had no APN's. I'm currently reflashing it, and if it still doesn't work, I'll download it again.
Edit: re-downloaded, same problems. Maybe it doesn't like the chinese rom?
I like... Thanks.

Erm did you read the READ CAREFULLY bit at all or did you just click download and install it blindly? i have placed a bad kernel on purpose you need to start it and set it up via the lg setup then go to samno's kernel page and download his V0.4.2 or V0.6r and install the kernel that will fix everything your Bluetooth, WiFi etc.. I am sick of people not reading is it hard to give up 5 mins of your time to read things or has technology blinded us humans badly? Oh since you will not read you need a 21D kernel but without plus maybe + works too try and tell me..

It does, unfortunately. I read the whole post a few times, but I can't explain how I missed that paragraph every single time. If I didn't know any better, I could have sworn it wasn't there before. Sorry about that, honest mistake.

The rom is not depended on ghost calls it's the baseband flash either V20G or V21E first as kdz to get baseband. Or get the fls files from the kdz and use smart flash to flash V21E or V20G baseband and use any rom without ghost calls..
Anyway soon i will make a V21E rom might as well wait if you don't want this one..

titan kernel the new V0.6r is a beast i can leave my phone on stand by the whole night and only have a 1 percent battery drain.. Download setcpu and put minimum on 196 and max on 1008 will last you forever..
is this new kernal you speak of unreleased?
I don't see it on the Titan thread.
possible bug?
hi meemo,
just installed this on top of dna v2 and i'm having a problem with messaging. i did not wipe my data, just cache and dalvik. now whenever i enter the messaging app, it just keeps on displaying this "refreshing" prompt and i can't get to open any of my messages, i cant compose one as well. i reinstalled the rom again but same thing
thanks for the default theme by the way... it looks clean as it is
So After some roms instaled on my lg there I chose GTR V6 (V7.8 DONT SEMS to work stuck at logo)
My question is about roms and kernels, so after I instaled GTR v6 on my phone I need/can to instal a kernel ? so If I can or need how I do Ive read a lot of threads but I dndt found a good answer so after I instaled a custom room How do I instal a kernel Is the same as rom? revocery then
wipe data/resetfactory and wipe chache and instal like a rom? Plz tell me how to do the right thing
I just want a good phone for a little gaming and like a normal phone

The cache, and dalvik wipe are optional to me. I always do it, and have better luck that way. Doesn't harm, just makes that next boot longer as it rebuilds those caches. I had an issue ONCE where I had to wipe cache, and just do it every time I flash a kernel now

Quick noob question: what is a new kernel good for ?
I already have AOKP 4.0.4 on my P500, but saw different talks about different kernels.
So, what is the kernel and what it does.
Wil flashing a new kernel affect other stuff (installed apps, settings...) ?

There are different kernels that people have worked on that are better for certain purposes. Consider the ROM a airplane, and the kernel the pilot. Different pilots are better at certain things, but all are certified to fly the plane
Things that our kernel devs have added are touch screen driver fixes (LGs were ****), undervolting and CPU frequencies additions for performance, VPN stuffs, ect ect. When you install a new kernel,it won't make you lose any data or settings. Everything will be just as it is for you.
Basically adding features and improving performance beyond what LG provides. Looks like Williams awesome looking AOKP is running the same kernel Hehap does on the version of ICS I am running and it is pretty good. I am testing DJnoxDs ICS kernal with touch screen fixes and vysnc off here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587209 and it is pretty fantastic so far.
But if you wanted to try out different kernels with the ROM you areon, you can flash it over in recovery. If you do a backup in recovery before hand then you can easily go back to the kernel he provides.
Just make sure if you are having any issues with his ROM after that, to keep the fact you changed kernels in mind. Check the threads for the kernel you are trying if issues come up after flashing, or at least mention in William's thread that you are using a different kernel if issues are coming up so bug reporting happens correctly.
Got it, thank you very much for the infos.

Try the Djnoxd kernel
Its awesome
Y dont u use ginger snap its btr
you should try ginger snap its best rom what i got after lot of search
I keep running into problems after flashing any ICS custom ROM. (Maybe I should try going to an ICS Stock ROM first).
Most times it just loops on the loading screen.
- Phone is rooted of course.
- I usually have the Emancipation GB custom rom before flashing to this one or a Stock GB with root and red CWM.
- I follow instructions to a 'tee'
- When I do reboot, it loops at Samsung logo.
The last time I tried (Dark Knight ICS Rom), just recently, I flashed then rebooted into recovery (from advance-boot to recovery), and it didn't go to recovery mode, it just looped.
So currently I'm on Stock GB with root and red CWM.
What am I doing wrong?
What are some things I should consider?
Some of the GB custom roms are nice yes, but I rooted mainly so I could get ICS.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer/

To be honest I was running from using Entropy's build.
Fear of it being too technical (It's actually the first thread I saw when I was thinking of going to ICS). So I used it and my phone is up and running now on ICS.
Won't be able to play around with it as much until I get home from work but thanks for mentioning it again.
Now to go and read the thread all the way through (kidding) well see if the problems he had are still occurring.
Thanks again guys.
For me, using Entropy's build made it easy to go to any other ICS rom for the Infuse- it is great as is or as a "stepping-stone" to other ICS builds. Glad it worked for you.
Yea man it was nice. I don't even need the other custom roms, this has everything I wanted.
And since it has a theme chooser, I'm good for life on the look of it.
I might try and customize my own stuff in the future but for now, all is right with my Infuse. I was going to get the Note but I got a brand new phone right here.
Hi!
I flashed pac-rom but it keeps my phone awake 24hrs even when i am sleeping therefore 70% battery consumption when i am sleeping and everyday i have been posting in that thread for help or update but dev has left, and this was a stable version with never ending problems for me.So i want to remove this and see if the other rom also behaves like this or not.
I want to remove this rom and gapps as well but i am a newbie and never did this before.I will be really grateful if someone guide me step by step in this.
Please reply soon coz i am not able to live a normal life as battery is creating problems for me.Thanks a lot in advance

As i said i am newbie things are not clear to me and what i asked in the question is not mentioned clearly and exactly. And since 7 days i am stuck in this esp last three days coz either the rom is a problem or need to be reflashed. And how to remove gapps etc that is not clear dear.Anyone who has a helping nature would write few lines or steps if he wants to help.My head is screwed up with this rom, nothing is working properly and all the time i am busy with my phone. Can't even open my eyes now as i have been continously looking at small screen.
Do not know if i have to reset the phone again or what, how to remove gapps as i do not have google store, gmail and maps in that. I always try to help a newbie coz i know he will not understand things clearly and can screw up,and in my case an experience person can tell if it is some thing else i should do along with that i.e if he would be concerned.
You are the king man so you would not know these small petty things.
Anyway thanks for whatever best you could do.
@kitu34: The procedure for flashing a new ROM is always the same:
1. Download the ROM, put it on your SD card (I recommend creating a folder in your SD card for your ROMs, kernels, etc., so that they're all in one place, but that's just a suggestion, not a requirement. Optional: Download the recommended GAPPS package for the ROM (if the ROM comes with built-in GAPPS, no need to download this).
2. Boot into recovery. You should be able to reboot into recovery simply by pressing power button > reboot > recovery. If not, then shutdown the phone and press & hold power+volume down+home.
3. In recovery, perform a factory reset (wipe data & cache), wipe dalvik-cache, and wipe system.
4. In recovery, flash the zip of the ROM you want to install (the procedure for this depends on your custom recovery; just browse around the menus for the option to flash a zip). If the ROM has a separate GAPPS package, you can also flash it here. Note: Always flash the GAPPS after you flash the ROM, not before.
5. Reboot system.
Flashing a custom kernel uses the same procedure, except you only wipe cache & dalvik-cache in step 3.

Update the ROM? Do you mean flashing a newer version of the same ROM? Some ROMs can be updated by simply wiping cache, dalvik, & system (no need to wipe data), then flashing the new version. Personally, I advise doing a clean install every time when installing a new ROM, even if it's just an update. That means a full wipe: data, cache, dalvik-cache, & system. A clean install helps you avoid potential errors.

If you want good battery life, then I suggest staying away from Jelly Bean ROMs for now -- the battery drain is huge. If you want to try a stable JB ROM, then the latest Jenkins build is good, as long as you don't mind battery drain and a couple of relatively major bugs (those being bluetooth A2DP not working and wifi hotspot reboot).
If you want a relatively more stable, but still high-end, ROM, then stick with ICS. Hephappy's CM9 is good (check the thread in the General LG-P500 forum), or if you want a tweaked & modded ICS, then get neko95's ICySNAP.
That said, the king of battery life still is Gingerbread. I'm personally using the latest unofficial CM7.2 build by FitAmp; it's stable and with good battery life, better than ICS or JB.

The home button not working is a result of a GAPPS error when the system partition is too full. You'll need to trim the ROM prior to flashing (search the cm10 thread; it's too complicated for me to explain here) or download the version of cm10.1 with built-in GAPPS. The fact of the matter is, our phones has a very small system partition, hence why we have to go to all this trouble when using JB.

You're seriously going to need to learn how to help yourself, @kitu34. Instead of asking for step-by-step instructions all the time, try looking for them yourself; simply using the "search this thread" function and running a search for "trim" in Rashed's thread would give you what you need. In fact, here's the link to the program used to trim ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33349661 -- that link was in the first post of Rashed's thread, labeled (and in very big letters) CLICK ME. The instructions for using the program is also in the thread, and the program's interface is so simple that simply browsing around should tell you what to do.

Thanks,i did search the thread by the relevant keywords but was not clear that i simply have to remove apps after flashing or before or what and the link you gave did not strike me would be for trimming. Now i know as someone told me to use titanium but the link i have not read fully but it is helpfull and will read now. Thanks again

I tried Jenkins with rashed's mini gapps and worked perfectly(except battery drain), instead using an tool for rom editing, use an app like root uninstaller to get read of unnecessary apps to free some space on internal memory or use an d2ext script(but it got some strange behavior from my phone, you need a really fast sd card, an class 10 for that, and a reliable brand, mine is class 4, so in the final, sd card will worth half price of the phone)

Thanks,i have both titanium and es explorer, can i do with that by simply uninstalling system app? Actually someone told me not to this way and instead trim the rom.Even i am confused what is the difference.Either it creates problems or the amount of space we get by uninstalling with titanium is less compared to trimming the rom.
I will later what i did later.
As the title says: P5110 keeps rebooting during boot - right after animation stops (before word SAMUNGS starts glowing).
Tablet is rooted and there is CWM 5.5.0.4 installed. Was just fine for almost half a year and all of a sudden this...
I have tried
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- advanced : wipe Dalvik Cache (whatever that might be?)
I also tried all the "mounts and storage" options and noticed on thing: i can mount all storage mounts (/system, /cache, /data, /efs, /preload, /sdcard) but one - namely /emmc. Does it mean that emmc is broken? What is emmc? Is it important?
I am considering unrooting it and removing CWM. But not sure whether it's even possible and don't dare to try!
Can you tell me anything that might help me debrick this tablet?
Do you have nandroid backup(one that you make with cwm)? If yes go to backup and restore in cwm and hit restore....if not try to reflash rom via cwm or flash stock rom via odin in dowload mode.
emmc is.... http://www.simmtester.com/page/news/showpubnews.asp?num=181

Sorry to jump on this thread but might be a similar steps the OP has to take.
What if he flashes a new Rom and it still is locked in a strange boot up?
I posted a thread earlier today but either no one has an answer or my thread title was just crappy.
Mine did exactly what his is doing now (just boots the samsung logo and hangs) and now it just boots into recovery everytime you start it.
Flashing an original stock rom didnt fix it.
Flash via Odin any stock ROM then root it and flash whatever you like.
This kind of brick may occur easily if you have flashed uncompatible kernel or tried to restore nandroid backup of another ROM or made by uncompatible CWM recovery version.

Solved?

Normally, it should actually work absolutely fine if you flash a stock ROM via Odin.
Nobody knows what did cause your problems and what did you flash as last. Also, different OS versions use sometimes different partitions. Even CWM recovery is not compatible through all versions, it uses different formatting.
So this way should work to restore stock ROM on your device:
find and download Odin that fits your device (earlier versions are not neccessarily worse ones)
find and download PIT file for your device
find stock ROM for your device consisting 3-files (for PDA, Phone, CSC).... ROMs are usually zipped, so you will get 3 data after extracting
The PIT file will do re-partitions for the case that your formerly installed ROM used different partitions whch are not compatible with the stock ROM.
After that you will have again unrooted stock ROM. So just be careful afterwards whatever you flash and before you do it, make sure that whatever you flash always fits your device (no matter is it whole ROM, kernel or just upgrade).

Thank you for the reply. I had posted a link in here that linked to my thread that explained what i had done and used but it didnt show up for some reason? Anyway I used the below roms(in bold). An update was available for JB and we own two tablets both the P5113 and bought at the same time. One tablet updated fine but the other one would download the package but then would keep failing to install it. So i did a factory reset on the device and then that's when the fun began and it started booting strange.
So I first tried flashing the official JB rom using ODin 3.04.
P5113UECLK7 (4.1.1) - Cellular south November 2012 (Official)
and it still did the same thing so then i tried flashing it back to ICS which is the rom that was on there i think. (It was ICS but not sure if that was the exact version number?)
P5113UEBLI1 (4.0.4) - Singapore September 2012 (Official)
Im sure the roms are going on there fine as if im not mistaken ICS has a blue battery charge icon and JB a gold one. I noticed that it went from blue to gold when i first loaded the 4.1.1 on there and then back to blue when i put ICS back on there.
I cant seem to find a PIT file for the P5113. Only for the P5100. Would that work?
I tried it anyway and it didnt work

If I was you, I wouldn't flash it before I am 100% sure it fits the p5113. I own the p5110 and they are indeed very similar, but who knows.... Take care of your Tab, mate.
BTW: why not CM10.1 stable? It works awesome, full wipe/factory reset, install zip through recovery, install recent gapps for CM10.1 (4.2.2) and after boot install Apex launcher and enjoy life

I hear you Its a paper weight right now though so thought id rather try as nothing else is doing the trick.
The tablets are my kids so i preferred to just give them an official stock version. I got put off using custom roms when i used paranoid android on my samsung galaxy 2 and it was real buggy. I just need my devices to work for the basics. I now run stock jelly bean on my GS2 but even that has crappy battery life, lucky for it to make it till 4pm and still be on and thats with moderate use. Couple of phone calls and a few text messages and a tiny bit or browsing. I know what is causing it though as it only starts to lose battery when im not on wi fi. It at least doesnt freeze and stop receiving phone calls altogether like PA did though. I used to miss a ton of work calls because the phone had actually frozen.
I love Apex though. I have Apex pro on my GS2 and its much better then the standard launcher. My daughter has the GS3 and it still does not rotate on the home and app screens which i find annoying.

I've got your point, mate. :good:
Same with me: I need all the functions to work. The CM10.1 does it really, but my p5110 is wifi-only device so I'm not sure if CM10.1 is same good for your p5113. CM10.2 seems to be smooth and fast, but many apps aren't yet updated for 4.3 so I will wait a while before I flash it again.
I have cm10.1 on my p5113...it runs amazing...the p5113 owners most of the time have to flash the p5110 version because there is nothing different with the tabs besides the ir port..

Can you reach the download mode? (press 2 buttons at same time: volume down and power button)
OK, yes- you need same Odin version as Tabs 51xx, this is link for Odin 3.07:
http://hotfile.com/dl/161620048/6c6d559/Odin3_v3.07.rar.html
Try pressing the buttons with the charger plugged in, as well as plugged out, that is little trick with the p51xx Tabs

Great, I am glad to hear it did charger cable trick help?
Just to make sure: you must be sure to flash a stock ROM first (not JB based custom ROM), after it you will have revived Tab without root. After that normal proceeding: root it, install CWM recovery or custom kernel that fits your ROM (or even whole custom ROM) which already features the CWM recovery.
The stock recovery (3e) checks the signature so of course you can't flash any custom zips. CWM recovery has an option "toggle signature verification" where one can disable signature check. Then you can flash whatever you want, just take care that all you ever flash must be absolutely compatible for your device.

One more thing mate, look at this video which I've posted on YouTube last January:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NXBN9Z63TY
It describes how to get rid of the signature verification problem. For the reason that quite many people don't understand english well, I have made a speechless video added by step by step description in the text (video description) so people can just copy the text and paste it into their translators.
If one ROM that you have flashed bootloops on the logo just try another ROM. It happens sometimes. Important is that you should always before flashing another ROM make full wipe: (data/factory reset/cache/dalvik) in your recovery mode.
Did you do it?
Please let me know if you were successful, it should work now! Good luck :fingers-crossed:
It works!
Thanks everyone for your feedback!!!
and my apologies for late response.
I followed the advise to (re)flash stock rom and it worked!
After that i rooted it again, installed another recovery and now have the latest stock rom working perfectly.
For those who get the same problem and the tabled keeps rebooting - just plug it into recharger and keep the on/off button until it turns off. Then you can fully charge it before you attempt to flash rom.
Once again, thanks a lot!
PS. now i am considering installing CM10.1

Great! Congratulations
Yes, install CM10.1.1 with gapps for 4.2.2 it works great, all the functions. Just mind that you can not restore nandroid backups made with other kernel, (sometimes also not if done with older CWM recovery version) and also apps backups made by Titanium backups in older systems aren't good idea to restore once you upgrade to CM10x
If you want to return for any reason to your old (current) ROM, do the same procedure like by unbricking
