-Install Script manager from market.
-Open script manager, navigate till system/etc/init.d and run the 2 scripts at boot.

There's ES File Explorer installed. Update to latest version in market if needed.
Open up app
Press Settings
Scroll down to root settings...
Check Root Explorer and Mount File System. If you fail to check Root Explorer, update to latest version of ES File Explorer in market.
Now that you got root explorer mode...
Press back till you go back to the file explorer.
Press the Sdcard looking icon on the row of icons. Its the leftmost icon in that row of 6 icons.
After you've pressed it, click into system folder
Next, click into etc folder
Next, click into init.d folder
You will see two files in there.
Hold down on the file (whichever first doesn't matter), then press properties.
Click Change in the permissions section, and then check everything.
Press Okay and repeat for the 2nd file.
After you are done, restart the phone.
After phone is restarted, go check to see if the permissions are changed.
thank you very much for the detailed instruction. i love this forum i tried em and it works
Like the title says, is there any possibility to install stock task manager in TJ's CyanogenMod 7.2.0?
I've tried with the root explorer process by moving the app to system/app folder and provided the correct permission followed by reboot but nothing worked out....suggestions please? or any similar market app that does the same job?

I do it using with Root Explorer. Root Explorer open, go to the SD card, find the installation package from the Task Manager, copy it, then go to System> app (up in the corner should be R / O) and paste it. Then hold your finger glued to the program, drop-down menu appears and choose Permissions. Put a checkmark where it does not, and then click OK. Restart.

Thanks for the help and your efforts in the graphical guidance. Finally it's working.....! Thank you.
For anyone having the same problem can follow the above method, don't use JobManager.apk(dang...i used that) Use the TaskManager.apk from OJ_mod ROM.
Open Root Explorer or another root-enabled file explorer and go to /system.
Tap the "Mount R/W" button, then scroll down to build.prop and press and hold on it. Tap "Open in Text Editor".
Find the line that says ro.build.version.sdk=15 and change it to read ro.build.version.sdk=16. Press the menu button and tap "Save and Exit".
Go to /system/app and hold-press GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk. Rename it to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk1. If that file doesn't exist (it didn't for me), just skip this step.
Reboot your phone and install the Google Now APK, once again available here.http://d-h.st/GZ1
Go back and edit build.prop as described in step two, and change the ro.build.version.sdk line back to 15.
Reboot your phone one last time.

This is the only option that let me install on my Xoom and work without error..

So Tumpy, I followed the instructions for my rooted ICS 4.0.4 E4GT phone, and the app installs fine, asks for permissions, but something happens and it won't take voice input or give voice output. I can see that it will be awesome when it works.
You don't need to do half the things in the OP. There is a large thread about it in the Android Apps and Games subforum. Voice does not work- it's a kernel thing, not just an app.

Hello XDA! I am new to these forums. This is what I found when I was trying to get rid of the thumbnails in my internal storage. I got some ideas on the forums but they were all using root access but I did not want to root my Xperia L. So I just tried and the result which I got was awesome. Now there is no thumbnail data on my internal storage.
How To:
1. You need to have ES File Explorer for this purpose.
2. Tap the icon with a phone on the globe on the top right corner of the screen.
3. Then go to settings.
4. Then under file settings go to 'Display Settings'.
5. Check the first option, i.e., 'Show Hidden Files'.
6. Now return back to the file manager screen.
7. Then go to /mnt/sdcard/DCIM and delete the .thumbnails folder.
8. After deleting the folder, tap the '+' icon on the bottom left corner of the screen.
9. Then choose 'File' option.
10. Then enter the name of the file as ' .thumbnails '.
11. Reboot your device and now you are free from getting useless thumbnail files on your internal storage permanently.
THANK YOU
If I helped, please press the 'Thanks' button.

Hi, I came across this post and just wanted to reply you.
You can use sqlite editor to remove the clock from lockscreen.
1.Open sqlite.
2.Then scroll down to "settings storage", and open it.
3.then open "settings.db" and open "system"
4.once open, search for clock.
5.then you will see a "lock_screen_show_clock 1"
6.Change it to "0" and then save and restart.
Thanks a lot. Also, is there any option to add something instead of this clock as well. Just giving it a try. I will let you know if there is any issue with this.
