ZTE V970-Does it not have a Magnetic Sensor? - ZTE Grand X V970

The Smart Tools give me an error.
If missing, is that a common occurrence on mid-tier phones?
Thanks

Vibrate Motor

Does anybody know which vibrate motor the Vox uses? I checked with many sellers on eBay and cnn.cn for a new motor and I am unable to locate one. Perhaps one of you might have an idea where I can get one.
Thanks.
this is the vibrator in vox:
Vibrator, JT0406-30CSR1, JNTECH, Cylindrical, 3V, 100mA, 12000+/-3000 rpm, 60/-, 20degC, 11.2*5.1*5.8mm
I think that motor is custom built for Vox by JNTECH because that model is not listed in their product page here- http://www.jntek.co.kr/english/product/product.asp
Stupid me, I should have checked the service manual PDF. Thanks prajith! Now I just have to find somewhere to buy it or find one with smaller dimensions.
they have many models and some other models might fit, but be sure it matches the specs.
......and why not use the HTC service?

[Q] smart cover like functionality?

hello,
Is there anything out there for android tablets that does what the apple smart cover does for the iPad? Locking and unlocking the tablet when closing and opening the cover.
thanks!
The ipad's smart cover uses magnets to detect when it is closed. For that function on an android tablet, the manufacturer would have to put that technology into it. The only other hardware that would work is a proximity sensor. The problem would be that when you put your finger or anything else over the sensor on accident, it would trigger the screen lock. Currently, I don't know of any application that uses the proximity for that purpose.

michaelnv710 is right you cannot buy an android tablet case that will provide you with the same functionality, but you can use a dedicated application. I would suggest you take a look at CaseSensor

Sorted thanks! CaseSensor does what I wanted and works really well on my Galaxy Tab 10.1
I don't care about the on off functionality, I'd just like to find one for my acer Iconia that's physically similar like the origami one for the asus or the one that Apple bullied samsung into pulling. Just for screen protection without the bulk of the folio cases which are annoying when I'm using it as a reader. I only use it at home. You'd think they'd be pouring out of China by now.

[Q] where are the sensors (on the hardware)?

I've got a small basket of broken MT4GS phones from which I am assembling a small collection of working Frankentouches. On one of these, everything works fine except for the sensors (the accelerometers, the magnetic sensors, and maybe a couple of others). I've had the phone apart and everything visually looks OK (no loose connectors or wires).
Having now done the "dumb stare" troubleshooting technique, I'd like to dive a little deeper. It's not obvious from the previously-mentioned dumb stare where the accelerometer and magnetic sensors reside. Does anyone know? If I can narrow it down to which piece of the multi-part motherboard, that will be progress.
I just bought another used MT4GS and found it had this same problem. That really makes me believe it's some common bad connector or part instead of a handful of unrelated component failures. Anyone got any ideas?

SM-J500FN - issues with magnetic sensor / compass / hall sensor

Hi guys,
I have recently purchased SM-J500FN and I am not able to start any compass map or use compass in google maps. It simply says that device does not have a compass, which according to the official Specs on the samsung site - http://www.samsung.com/in/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-j/SM-J500FZWDINS is not true. They clearly list 'Hall sensor' under sensors section. I also have contacted Samsung customer service and they said 'it definitely has a magnetic sensor' and recommended to return my phone for repair. Two weeks later, phone came back with note saying 'this model does not have a sensor'.
Who is right? Is there any secret trick to enabling the compass/magnetic sensor?
Has no magnetic sensor. Also no gyroscope. Budget cuts.

Pairing SCR24 Style cover to D6603 without NFC?

Hi, due to various reasons the NFC on my Z3 is irrepairably busted. Is there any way to get around the pairing of the smart cover without NFC?
Phone is rooted so if there are any super technical ways feel free to give suggestions.
Thank you!
I was looking through the build.prop and saw these lines that looked kind of interesting. Could these have anything to do with it?
ro.qti.sensors.max_mag_rate=false
sys.cover_state=0
It's to my understanding that once a cover is paired the magnetic sensor should activate on the phone for any of the style covers. So that leads me to believe that all I need to do is find the line/lines in some config file that activates the mag sensor.
If anyone has any info please feel free to share!
