[Q] Waze not working on [ROM][4.1.2][STABLE] CyanogenMod 10 ♦ Gierdo's Nightly Builds
I am using [ROM][4.1.2][STABLE] CyanogenMod 10 ♦ Gierdo's Nightly Builds rom, version dec. 2 .
Great rom, with a few drawbacks on my transformer: google search fc's, no big problem.
However, when I install WAZE social GPS app from the play store it does not work. It does not fc, it simply shows the WAZE startup screen and then nothing. Just throws me back to the start screen. When I look at apps in settings it seems to be running. But nothing happens when I shut it down. I have tried to delete app data, user data, reinstall, wipe dalvik/cache: nothing.
I really need waze and hope someone can help me get this to work on this rom.

Fixed it!
Well, that was a quick fix.
It seams that the team EOS gapps 10.6 (for Xoom I think) is not working completely as it should on my tf101.
After installing a different gapps package Waze runs as expected and the search function also works as designed without fc's.
Anyone else having problems with Waze on Transformer tf101: try different gapps.

Adding Market makes my system crash.

Every time I add market the system becomes unstable and I can't get the system to reboot after it is installed. Any ideas? I am currently using CM mod and have tried all releases of tnt lite and zpad.
Well I am CM6B4 ROM and the market and fixes and all is working for me, but what I do notice is that every time I use th market to add/remove/u[date apps, my system is totally unstable afterwards and usually the google services framework crashes and then most all the other gapps will FC on me whenever trying to use them. A reboot fixes everything till the next time I use the market.
I am using the same release as you are. I have tried them all several times and I am still unsure of what to do. I really love this tablet with CM added to it. I can just side load all my apps if I needed to. I would just rather have the market as well. Also I am not sure of what Gapp releases goes with which ones. I have Clockwork installed so I am not worried about bricking the unit. I sideloaded Angry Birds and that has me occupied for the time being.
Same issue here along with uid errors. Only way to get things stable was install clockwork and then clear data and cache. I was then able to do the market fix and things so far have been stable. Using TnT Lite 2.0.
Ok, I will give that a shot thanks.

Team EOS Rom and Maps issue

Hello-
So, I've been on the nightly for a while now. I've noticed that the Maps application launches every time I perform a boot of my Xoom. I've been on the Team EOS Nightly 89 for a couple of weeks. Is anyone else experiencing maps launching on boot? I also look into my running apps and I see 2-3 map apps running. Not sure how that is possible. Not sure if this is ICS or the ROM.
Let me know if this is a known issue or if there is a fix.

It is normal for Maps to be running the NetworkLocationService at boot, and other services periodically.
Zanshin is right.
If maps is part of system/app you really don't have a choice.
It is possible to make it to a user app though and freeze it at startup using Autostarts from the market though without suffering ill effect.

[Q] Starbucks app crash - CM10 4.1.2

The official Starbucks app has never worked for me. It crashes instantly upon clicking it, returning the following error "Unfortunately, Starbucks has stopped." I have tried clearing data/cache, uninstalling, and rebooting. It is not the app, as I tried it on my wife's GS III phone which is running a 4.1.2 ROM. It works perfectly for her. So, I fear my ROM may be missing something this apps needs.
Detective work: All other apps on my phone have been working well, including some retail-related ones such as Amazon. However, when I tried to use the Groupon app, it crashed on their loading screen. These two apps (Starbucks and Groupon) must have something in common. I have attached a log file of the Starbucks crash to see if anyone can make sense of it.
ROM: SUPERLITE CM10 JB 4.1.2 RoM, V7.0
Thanks in advance.
starbucks app running fine on liquid smooth and slim bean no issue at all
Same problem here. Play Store tells me that Starbucks app is incompatible with my device.
I am running a new install of CM 10, Android 4.1.2
People keep saying it's a 4.2 issue, but I and some others are not ON 4.2 releases.
Update:
I installed Slim Bean 3.0 a few days ago and both the Starbucks and Groupon apps work just fine. This ROM has been really stable for a few days with good battery life. Looks like a keeper for now.
Okay, so, I am still on CM 10 (STILL Android 4.1.2)
I side-loaded the Starbucks APK 2.2.3 (the newest, as of this posting) and it seems to work fine.
HOWEVER, the Play Store shows that it is installed, but still gives me a warning that the app is not compatible with my phone. Doesn't show the normal buttons for Uninstalling or Opening, so I'm assuming it won't Update as normal, either.
Sidenote: all other apps have seemed to work perfectly on my copy of this build, including Groupon.
Intriguing...
Well, the fact that Groupon works means that our issues were different. In my previous ROM (Superlite), the developer admitted that he liked his ROM's very light and therefore left many components out. One of those must have been needed by these specific retail apps, but not needed by others such as Amazon. BTW, you must have read by now that many people do have trouble with the Starbucks app. Lots of complaints in Play Store and around Google. I just ignored those because my problem went beyond Starbucks.
If you are having trouble with CM10 nightlies, try Slimbean 3.0. LIke I wrote before, it is working great so far.

Google Maps is crashing the Xoom

Hi there
I'm running CM10 stable, but the xoom is crashing when I launch google maps, or it's related apps (navigation, local, etc)
Any idea how I can fix this?
Have you tried clearing the data and let it redownload?
Hey, sorry I missed this reply. I've since been using CM10.1 nightlies and the app also crashes. This includes after a fresh CM flash. how can i better report to a dev so the users cash be addressed?

Kindle App on Cyanogenmod

I've been running Temasek's unofficial cm12 builds for the Note 3.
Works great in general, but the amazon Kindle reading app doesn't function. This is quite a kicker as I was heavily invested in my kindle library.
The app breaks on downloads. Some books will appear to download to completion, then inform me that the download failed. Sometimes the app will break and throw a "has stopped working" as soon as the download is initialized.
Things I have tried:
Plenty of app data/cache wipes and reinstalls
Clean rom flashes
Uninstalling all other amazon products (research suggested potential conflicts)
But nothing has worked.
Amazon support refuses to help troubleshoot since it's cyanogenmod.
Any ideas?
I was also having this issue on my galaxy s4 i9500 running the latest Euphoria build. I did some searching on Google, and found a solution that worked for me. I used build.prop editor to reduce the Dalvik.vm.heapsize from the default (mine was 512 I think) to something lower (the site I found said to drop it to 402, but I set it to 470 and it works fine). This solution worked for me, but I claim no responsibility if this messes up your device in any way.
