[Q] Root One S - HTC One S

Sorry if i'm posting in the wrong place. It won't let me post in the developer section.
I rooted my One X back in March and decided to switch to the One S because the One X is a bit big for my little hands.
I have followed the root instruction, unlocked bootloads without any problems but when i flash CWM it say its been successful but it won't boot when into to recovery. Instead I get a message at the top saying loading recovery and a message at the bottom saying something about being an android device and i shouldn't be doing what i'm doing.
Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know what I might be able to try to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Don't use CWM it hasnt been support for a long time, instead use TWRP so so so much better.

Thanks for this. I've had a quick look and it says to install this will GooManager (with root permission) but I don't have root yet. How am I supposed to flash this? Is there a file I can flash with adb?
Thanks

[Q] Help me I'm new

Hello everyone this is my first time starting a thread on this forum so hello, anyways I just switched form iPhone to the Skyrocket, and am enjoying it, I switched because I wanted something to make my own and android seemed the route to go. Anyways, I just wanted some input on rooting and what the best ways to do so on a Mac. A couple months ago I rooted a EVO for a friend so I have some knowledge, but would still like some input and any tips that I could get.
-Thanks

Welcome to ROcket world man. I switched from iPhone too but i had i777 for like 2 weeks and than i727. You must read this once so you know what we are talking about. Its all in one noob guide. And make sure to flash t989 cwm through rom manager. Don't flash anything else unless it says it will work with i727. T-mobile SGS2 aka t989 is very similar to our phone so mostly everything there you can flash except kernel. Because with t989 kernel you will get rotation issue. Let us know if you got any question.

Thanks for the info it was really useful. I had a question though, The last part after, Flashing the kernel. Is that to complete the whole process or is that if you had any problems, and needed to go back to stock. Sorry if thats a noob question, but I just want to make sure.

Read this thread, section 6
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709
Also the issue you are most likely seeing is because you tried to flash a ROM with a kernel without first unlocking your bootloader. This is also explained in the above thread.

Can you get into recovery? If so wipe/factory restore and flash the stock ROM or a custom one WITHOUT a custom kernel. I would suggest just going back to stock ROM and starting fresh. If you made a backup (which you should have) you can just go back to that too. Just remember to unlock your bootloader before you put a new ROM on.

Yes you must flash the stock kernel after the vzw screen of death. Using root66 makes it easier to get back up and running. One less thing to do and you can then down load ez unlock & ez recovery to unlock boktloader/ flash cwm.
Thank you everyone for responding
Everyone was very helpful
I was able to get the phone back to stock and I went into a store to exchange it because I had that permanent roaming thing
So now I learned my lesson and first thing I did with the new device is back up my imei..

Unable to get Root for TF700 4.2.1

Hey everyone!
I have tried rooting with the motochopper tool and the Debugfs automated root tool, but neither method seems to work. Motochopper acts like it works, it successfully pushes the superuser.apk to the device and reboots it, but doesn't seem to actually get root. Whenever I launch the superuser app it gives me this error: There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!
The Debugfs automated root tool seems to always tell me that it can't find the device via ADB but motochopper seems to get to it just fine, so I don't know what else to try.
What am I doing wrong here? I can only guess that ASUS has released a new update, my build number is JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.14.10-20130801
I've rooted several devices in the past (Hero, EVO 4G, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S3) but can't get anywhere with this TF700.
Any help would be great!
Thanks
Yea, that is what is it, I have a newer build version, guess I will downgrade and try again. Thanks for looking!
MotoChopper doesn't work with the latest firmware, you will have to use an alternative method. Just search in the tf700t forum, there's more than one topic about it.

Same here. I'm unlocked, have phils recovery installed, and have flashed the supersu 2.01 and still no root.
I'm not sure why you guys aren't getting root. I'm using TWRP 2.7.1.0 and it works fine.

Figured it out. There is a setting in SuperSU that says to respect CM root access setting in developer settings. we don't have that setting under developer, so I unchecked it, and root now works.

Yeah, i know how to do all that stuff. was just looking for a quick way while at work. haha. i investigated it and found the "fix" on my own. BTW, the part I posted in here isn't listed in that thread, either. Maybe his SuperSU.zip was already preconfigured to bypass developer settings, but the step isn't actually listed.

Sorry for not reading the forum. I just broke my tmobile phone and need to order a new one ASAP. Root is a must for me. Can you please shortly let me know will I be able to root any Note 5 SM-N920T or not?
Yes it can be rooted but you're going to have to do some reading and research. There's no quick "one click root" method.

Rooting this phone is easy. Make sure you have Samsung drivers installed, download Odin, download custom recovery, Odin custom recovery, download and flash systemless root. Done.
Do a search and you'll find what you need.
