Ported ICS Google Play Error [RPC:S-5:AEC-0] - LG Optimus 3D

Hi,
I'm using ported ics with badsouls rom. I get this error when I try to download something on the play store.
when I delete my google account and add it again after a reboot, I can download all the apps again.
But after some hours the error repeats. someone know how to fix the error? Could it be an error because of superchargerv6 and the modified services.jar file?
thank you for your help

What rom are you using?

edit: oh sorry my fault, while linking the thread, I read that badsoul fixed the error.
what is the best solution to install the newer rom without deleting all my apps / settings?

There isn't a way that I know of where you don't need to wipe data. I just use titanium backup to backup all my apps and settings.

Go to settings/account and sync remove your account. then re-add it.. and wait until it sync completely try that and let me know..
you can flash the new rom ontop of the other without wiping.. i recommend wiping cache and delvik

I installed v1.1, but have the same problem.
I even downloaded a new phonesky.apk like suggested in badsouls thread.
After I wipe cache / dalvkit and delete google account, I can download apps short after it.
But after some hours the problem comes back.

wipe
you can wipe data or reFlash rom .

I did already both, but error is still their.

I got NEWMAN N1 , some application were fine to install with Market some others (like Instagam) )I got error (RPC:..)
Finally I solved it by install via Chrom browser.
I don't want to re install account, why to do it ? , gmail is fine... all is fine...
Why google can't fix this LAME error

Google Maps 6.0 in ICS?

So, I've tried getting 6.0 on my kang CM9 builds, with no luck. There was a quasi-guide in the themes/apps section, but it didnt fix the issue.
Basically, we're stuck at 5.11, and it gives "Package is not signed correctly" error.
Anyone have any recommendations? I'm getting frustrated by this.
i tried the following with no luck:
In TtnBackup, I converted maps to user app, then detached from market.
Then I tried mkt doctoring, uninstalling, and reinstalling with no luck.
I also tried uninstalling while it was still detached, with no luck as well.
I get the package signing error every time, regardless of what I do.

I feel your pain--I messed around with that for 2 days before I fixed it, but the user app conversion worked for me. I didn't detach it from the market or anything, though. The info I followed is below, although you probably already tried it without detaching.

is very easy
edit the GApps from 28, and remove the Maps.apk
save it
then install the GApps, now you can install G maps 6.01 from market
another way simply do not install GApps at all, and only install Android Market 3.3.12 and then install everything else manually
Thanks for your attempts at helping, but they simply don't work. I guess I'm gonna have to start over with a fresh install, which sucks.
I tried flashing gapps without Maps, then installing -------> Error -8
I tried removing using the TtnBackup Method ------> simply reverts to 5.11 stock app.
Define "uninstall", because when you "uninstall" a gapp such as Maps, then it doesnt uninstall at all. It simply reverts back to the original version. If you literally get the apk off the phone, as I did in the first attempt, you'll STILL get an error, this one being "-8", whatever that means.
Yeah, when I was having issues the flashing without the maps apk didn't work for me either. Did you try deleting the maps data and then converting/uninstalling in TB? I thought I saw something mentioning to delete the data for the maps app first in TB and then uninstalling but I can't remember if that was it or not. I ran through the same problems--first the sign error and then the -8 error and then the user app conversion worked.

Interesting......good to hear you had the same -8 error. I'm gonna reflash gapps w/Maps and start the process over and make sure I delete any data and kill the app beforehand. Hopefully this time it'll work.
EDIT: Still no go. I'm starting to think the issue is with converting to user app. Despite doing this (and it took about 15 secs), when I select uninstall, it warns me that Maps.apk is a system app, blah blah blah. Maybe it's not even converting it? How can I tell?
The only other thing I tried to do that I can remember was somewhere in the process I tried to install the 6.0 apk from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007132 (the zip file) but I don't think it worked and then I did the user conversion and then it worked. Sorry, I don't remember exactly what I did to get it working. Bleagh!

[SOLVED] Unable to install google maps after restore to factory :(

I'm unable to install google maps after restore to factory defaults
Tried to flash different gapps zip from cwm, but didn't help. Later found out that there's no google maps in there.
Tried gapps fixer zip - didn't help.
Tried to install from market, got error: "incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID"
Installation from apk fails.
Also tried to delete maps.apk from system but it says "read only", adb remount fails with some permissions error, but titanium backup works fine & cwm flashes (but restores to stock after second reboot), so I suppose root is ok?
Can someone post google maps zip for cwm or advice me on the situation?

There's a couple threads on xda about factory reset messing up Google apps like maps and YouTube. You're supposed to delete something in apps but I don't remember exactly what it is. Do a search for the thread. Sorry I don't have more details

all I could find leads me to flashing gapps, but google maps is not in there!
Also I cannot delete maps.apk from system, it's ready only for me & if I try to manage permissions from root explorer it says read only
Try reflash superuser and than try delete it throught any filemanager with root acces
all you can do is reflash gapps. i had the same problem. for some reason the phone comes with google maps, but if u factory reset it, you don't get it, because it's restricted to some regions

[Q] Play Store Error on Lollipop

I'm running DH's Lollipop ROM and the Play store has been giving me -505 errors when I try to install certain applications. It is not during the download period, just when the app attempts to install itself. This happens with APKs as well. Is it an issue of Lollipop compatibility? I'm trying to download Chronus in particular.

Make sure that you did a clean install of the rom. If you were in TWRP there is a advanced wiping tab. Try wiping internal data (that does not wipe external sd card). This is probably a fix. If using some other recovery it should come with a similar feature. Hope this helped

Thanks, I tried that but still no luck so I just restored a nandroid. I've been digging around the N5 forums because they've had Lollipop for a while and it looks like it's a common thing with 5.0.

I had the same issue. Just curious, but did you try and use Titanium Backup at all? I did, and it failed. Must have broke something. A clean flash did the trick for me.
I had the same issue but only with apps that I attempted to restore with Titanium. I had to do a full data wipe and reflash to be able to install those apps again.

Yea I did and it just hangs up on that restore until I FC the app and deselect from restore. With the ROM I'm using Chronus (for example) is an optionally app to be installed and it installs that way but isn't the most up to date version and the update from the Play Store doesn't install either. Weird issues for sure.

Clean flash Lollipop and DO NOT use TiBu. It must not be fully working on 5.9 yet. I had the exact same thing happen. Just let Google restore your apps.

I have flashed the ROM and love it except this issue that I am also experiencing. I also have TiBu but did not use it for the app restore. Rather I used Google Play and it failed to install Any.do. I have tried manually and read extensively online and the problem appears to be related to Adobe air not being Lollipop compatible. I finally email Anydo and they are aware of the issue and are providing me with a link to their upcoming lollipop beta. My point is I don't believe reflashing, re-restoring, or rummaging around in the data/data folder will fix the 505 error.

After reading further I decided to uninstall ALL Task apps, which included Chaos-Control. I was then able to install Any.DO. It was a permission issue and it conflicted with Chaos-Control. Lollipop is confusing app permissions. Find the like app, uninstall, and then install the app you want. That worked for me.

Facebook not able to install, error -504

Hey guys and gals I've been fighting with this issue for a while and can't seem to find a way to fix it. I'm running the newest nightly for CM12 via safestrap and I've done a complete wipe and fresh install and I still can't install facebook. Tried clearing the data and cache from the google apps that were recommended via other threads.
This morning I did an entire wipe, installed stock, rooted, installed Facebook successfully, then installed Safestrap, made a new slot, installed CM, and facebook fails on install. Tried installing via Playstore as well as manually with the APK and both fail basically the same way though when doing the APK it doesn't give the 504 error.
So I'm hoping someone out there has another idea of something to try, in the interim I've been running Facebook lite, which works but notifications are unstable for me. It would be easier if I could run the normal app but it's been fighting me at every turn.
Thanks
Luke
Did you try pasting the .APK directly in /data/app and setting appropriate permissions?
Alright I figured I'd come back to this since I did end up finding a solution. I didn't try pasting the APK direct since I had read of some issues with guys doing that and having to wipe the device and I didn't want to have to do that. So I ended up using Titanium backup to backup the copy from the stock rom install that was working, and then restore it into the CM12 install and it worked. Wouldn't update via Play Store but it did work to get a functional install.
So if other guys find this thread down the road, this might be a way to make it work.
Take care!
Luke
I don't know why it wasn't working when you tried to install the apk, but sometimes happened to me something similar. I wasn't able to install any app from the PS, it always trow me an error, I don't remember the exact number, but if it wasn't 504, is really close. The only workaround was to delete my Google account and format data, and when it turned on I skipped the Google first startup wizard and went straight to the play store, and when it prompted to log on, I did and worked flawless. Glad to know that you already fixed it, but this workaround may help someone else

Play Services force-closing - fix?

Yes, this is a straight-forward fail - I am running a CM13-based ROM and flashed a nightly build (has been redrawn meanwhile) onto my N5 without backing up first. Right after the first reboot, I received a "Play Services has stopped working" error message and this keeps appearing all the time. Additionally, the Google Now Launcher has disappeared from my launcher list - and of course, all the Play Services-dependent features don't work, i.e. Chrome, Contacts sync, Play Store and so on. So, my phone basically is useless.
I suspect all the problems arise from the non-working Play Services. I managed to uninstall them after deactivating the Android Device Manager and re-installed the latest version, but this didn't fix the problem. Is there anything else I can try? Or is there no way around a complete wipe?
have u flashed Gapps?
Tried it, but didn't help either. I'll just go for a full wipe now. But thank you for answering!

try clearing Cache and dalvik cache and then delete the host file from "etc" folder!
I should've tried deleting the host file. Wiping Dalvik and Cache didn't work before...
Anyway, I took the opportunity, put my 32GB mainboard in and set up everything from scratch.
Are you using amplify?
No, I didn't use that.
