Hey fellas,
Got my hands on the new Diztronic matte black TPU case and wanted to bring a full review to you all. This is a flexible TPU case as the name states, with a slight matte coating which adds good grip and repels unwanted fingerprints. The ports and cutouts are perfect, lining up well. The front is protected by a slight lay on the table design, featuring a contrasting glossy coating. This is an extremely high quality product, but is very affordable too, at only $12.50

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. Very well done. I have been contemplating getting this case for a few weeks. This helped me get a better look at it.

enjoyed your videos for the galaxy nexus. nice to see you continuing to do these kind of informative videos.
Loving the case so far. Very well made, look good and minimalistic.
Cheers guys! Thanks for the feedback
Always enjoy your reviews, man. Started watching you when I had a Gnex.

nearly a year gone now! thanks for the support
I just received mine today and it is nicer than the one I bought for my galaxy nexus. That one was a good design but full of burrs around the edges. I melted them but that turned the area from matte to glossy. Its not really a knock against diztronic but rather a bad batch. I know cruzer and diztronic use the same factory (their own designs of course). Happily this one is awesome. Dulls the look of the phone a but fit finish and build quality as well as design are very nice. The design of the covered buttons is a really nice touch. Basically there is a raised dot inside the case over the button areas to give you a nice quality click when you use the buttons. This is pretty unique in my experience with tpu, as button feel is usually awful unless they are cut out completely.
My only question is whether my best skins ever protector will work with this case. This phone is getting replaced and has no protector, but these large lip type tpu cases tend to peel screen protectors unless they are "case fit." Can anyone confirm whether the protector peels up with this case?
I know diztronic does not recommend wet type unless case fit but I'd like to know from someone who actually has one of those bse protectors.

I had the initial batch of XG and then sent me a second batch. The second batch seems smaller and because of that, the case fits right over it. You have to maneuver it a tad to fall on top of the SP. I haven't used BSE since my Nexus One days lol, good SP too!

So my flat black tpu case by Diztronic came today and let me tell you it is hands down better than anything out there and I could not be more pleased. I am comparing this to the Rearth slim case I was using and before that I also had the Ebay S line case for a couple days and while that case is also tpu, it is truly ghetto compared to this Diztronic. The fit is perfect and while buttons are covered there is still little effort needed to push them unlike many tpu cases. The feel of the case on the phone is also on the premium side and the matte black back does not attract fingerprints either. The other great feature about this case is the slightly raised lip going around the screen which is just right for anyone wanting to play music/put their phone face down. All of this is had with virtually no added bulk either. I highly recommend this case and know you will be happy with it.

It definitely looks better than the "S" TPU case, but does it offer more protection in your opinion.
It seems from your pics the lips on the front are higher than the ones on the "S"?
How good is the fit? would you say it's tight? Does the case come off easily?
Looks good, might still purchase this, although it looks exactly the same as the I-Blason case I have on my N4 already.
Hows the call quality? People complained about the official N4 bumper ruining the microphone quality so I'm wondering if it happens with this too.
I have one of these on order myself.
Would you say the Diztronic is significantly better than the Ringke Rearth Slim case? I've got the Ringke case and it doesn't fit as tight as it could around the volume rocker, too much play for my liking. Also my girlfriend hates how the four corners stick up a little from the screen (to protect the screen if its face down) she says they poke her in the ear on phone calls... Wish I had bought two of the Diztronic cases now

I don't have a case at all and I have to position the phone in a certain position on my face for anyone to hear me as it is. If a case or bumper further negates from the call quality I am going to have to pass. Even though I already ordered this and it should be here soon.
1. The call quality is not affected I already had two calls with the case on and it sounds great.
2. The lip is raised a bit more than the S case but not overly done, it will not bother you at all
3. This case feels very good on the phone, it is easy to get off it your actually trying to take it off other that that there is no annoying flex from the tpu or anything like the cheap ones (S case)
4. This is much better that the rearth slim because having this on gives me the feeling of better protecting just by how it feels in the hand and protects the entire bezel which a slim case does not do.
I may order the Diztronic shell case when that come out next week too
I think the stock bumper is stupid anyways
Haven't tried any other case for the nexus 4.but this diztronic case is easily the highest quality tpu I've ever used... Feels great. Love it.

it's definitely not the same as the i-blason case. I have two i-blason and the diztronic. the diztronic is sooo much better. i used to use their case on my gnex. very good quality.
Got my case yesterday. It fits nicely, has a good feel and looks pretty good too. Doesn't really add much bulk. The seams on 2 corners on the other hand seem a bit shoddy and looks like it might peel away over time. Curious to know if anyone else's case is like that too. Will contact Diztronic and see what they say.

Just received mine as well, and YES THIS IS THE BEST CASE OUT THERE FOR THE N4 IMO
in every aspect, design, feel, protection this case is definitely the best, glad I bought this case.
Just got one. Great looking case and real nice feel. My XtremeGuard screen protector peels a bit on the corners. Any suggestions on screen protectors that wouldn't have this issue?

I would get the black one, I also thought about the smoke color since it allows you to see the nexus logo on the back which is pretty attractive. But the Distronic logo kinda overlayed the LG logo and that's a no-no for me. But since Distronic has a no-hassle free return policy, you can always return it if you're not satisfied with your purchase.
I decided to gather up some different types of accessories for this phone, varying from cases, pouches, and even chargers. Detailed photos as well as a small written review will be provided for each accessory. I hope this will give you some informed decisions on purchasing these products. I would also take any constructive criticism to improve these reviews for future use..
Diztronic TPU Case
Review
Diztronic did a great job designing this TPU case. As you can see, this case provides great coverage in protecting the phone. With a lip covering the sides of the screen, the phone can be set face downward without the screen touching the surface. The buttons are great and have a nice feeling when pushed. Like other TPU cases pressing down on the buttons seems like such a hassle, but not with this case. The matte black finish provides a non-glossy surface that also makes it harder to see visible scratches or marks on the back of the case. All the ports (headphone jack, USB, speaker) are easily accesible thanks to the specific cutouts it provides. Overall, this is one great TPU case and I prefer it over the rest of them out there.

XO Skins
Review
XO Skins is one of many screen protectors that are done through a wet application. The whole installation process was simple. Only thing you have to take into consideration is the amount of liquid applied to both the screen protector and the phone should be minimal and just enough to let the screen protector glide over the phone. You also have to be careful squeegeeing the liquid away from open ports such as both front and back speakers. It took a little over a day for most of the leftover air bubbles, as well as marks, to dissipate.
There was little to no orange peel on the protector, compared to other competing companies such as ZAGG, which is way worse. I really like the it has all the cutouts for the front facing camera, proximity sensors, speakers, camera, and flash. Also, take note that their customer service is really nice and they will take care of an problem you have on the screen protectors. I definitely recommend this as protection for both the screen and the back glass.

LG WCP-700 (Wireless Inductive Charging)
Review
I've never used an inductive charger before owning this one. After a week of using it, it seems to do its job perfectly. The soft touch feeling covering the base provides a non-slippery surface for placing your phone. There are two LED indicators near the top that let you know whether it is on, and show that it is charging. The charging speed for the charger is fairly fast, averaging at about 10% in around 45 min. The charging does automatically stop once it hits 100% but as soon as it dips below 95% it picks right up. I would, however, like it if it kept the charging at 100%. The charger does make a beep when it is placed on the mat. It may be useful for some people but aggravating for others. This post will guide you in removing the speaker. I had tested the charging with a couple cases and can finally conclude that it does charge through TPU material as well as through the Ringke Slim case.

Clear S-Line TPU Case
Review
I really like the fact that you can see the Nexus logo through the back of the TPU case. The left and the right side has a nice textured material for better grip. The bottom of the case has to holes so that the USB and the microphone will be accessible. The back has a nice double texture; top part a matte clear finish while the right-bottom half is the clear TPU portion. The camera as well as the rear speaker is also easily accessible. The final part of the case is the top part which has two cut-outs , one for the headphone jack and the other for the secondary microphone. Both the volume rocker and the power button are slightly harder to press; I only hope for a future TPU case with cut-outs on these two places.

OEM Bumper
Review
After an extensive amount of waiting I finally received my bumper. Shipping and processing time was pretty quick. Overall, the bumper feels great in the hand even though it is slightly wider than a few of my cases. Compared to the Ringke /Diztronic slim case, it was fairly wider. Compared to my TPU case, it was just slightly wider. The most important part of the case is that your phone will be protected from drops and at the same time keep the phone looking great. The shiny bezel surrounding the phone keeps the premium look of the case. Both buttons, volume rocker and power button, provide a tactile feel when pressing down on them. They aren't like the TPU cases and it almost feels as if the actual case was integrated with the phone. On the bottom of the phone, there are cut-outs for the micro USB port as well as the microphone. Along the top, there are cut-outs for the secondary microphone and the headphone jack. I've read around some threads about the bumper and most people have trouble fitting their headphone jack to the phone because the cut-out is to small. The case was a bit pricey and I hope their will be other opportunities for people to try out this case when it's available again. I also hope that 3rd party companies will start producing more bumpers.

I actually did have a problem with that. The diztronic case has is a pretty tight case and when I tried putting it on my phone, the edges peeled just slightly. You can however try stretching the case over the edges to try and prevent that.

Thanks for the reviews, but it would be more helpful if you took the pictures with a higher aperture, so the FOV isn't so narrow.
Do you think we should get the case fit XO skin if we're using the Diztronic case? I'm torn between either the XO skin or Xtremeguard. Have you, or anyone, had experience with both of these screen protectors? Is there a difference in quality between these two brands? Basically I would want the one with the least amount of orange peel, hardest/smoothest, and tough enough to not get peeled off by the Diztronic case. Opinions?
My Nexus 4 case review.
I'm going to do a little case review for all my N4 cases: Official bumper; Mercury TPU case; XDA-developers TPU case, Meifeng Hard skin cover, and Ringke Fusion Premium Hybrid Hard Case.
Let's get started, hopefully this could help you guys when choosing cases.
Official bumper: The most expensive case I've owned, and it is not worth it. The look is cool, no doubt about it, however, it feels terrible in hand. It's like wearing a bad condom, which makes the whole experience weird. The protection it gives is limited.
Overall score: 5/10
Mercury TPU case: A solid case with good protection. Feels pretty good in hand, however, it attracts finger prints. A mediocre case, nothing special about it.
Overall score: 6.5/10
Xda TPU case: I got this case to show my support for the XDA community. I got it for about $12, took them about a month to ship it to me. As you can see, it looks awesome, dose not attract finger prints. The quality is a little iffy, since its hand made.
Overall score: 7/10
Ringke Fusion Premium Hybrid Hard Case: My second favorite case. The best part about it is that the back is see-through, great way to show off the beautiful design with good protection. Some say the buttons are hard to push, but that's not the case in mine, the responses I get is great. The only thing I don't like is the small head phone hole, I have to take the case off when I listen to my music. I dose fit the regular head phone cable, mine is a little bigger.
Overall score: 8.5/10
Meifeng Hard skin cover: My favorite among all. It is the slimmest case I own, which makes the holding experience awesome. The materiel it uses has a matte like feeling, makes it easy to hold. The only downside is that the protection it offers is not that great, it only covers the back and the side of the phone while leaves top and bottom of the front unprotected.
Overall score: 9/10
That's it! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Useless without pics.
More pics of the Meifeng please.
I would like to compare it to the Poetic Palette. They appear to be the same, but a YouTube review (more like overview) dropped the Meifeng case by itself into the ground and it sounds like it might be even flimsier/thinner than the Palette. I just want minimal scratch protection but I don't like actual skins/films, so the Meifeng might work for me.

I have the Palette and Meifeng. The palette is thicker/sturdier and offers much better top/bottom protection because the edges of the case come closer to the front of the phone. The matt material is also really nice...imo nicer than the meifeng.
However, because it's thicker it doesn't feel as good in the hand as the Meifeng and it also has smaller button holes. So as long as you're ok with a little less protection, the Meifeng is the way to go.

So initially I didn't like that case (Rearth Slim). But after switching between 6-7 cases I'm using it as my primary case. Imo, it feels the best in the hand. However, I had to use a blade to shave the manufacturing mold lines down. Before I did that the edges of the case were terrible. After that the feeling improved dramatically.
Also gives best corner and front protection of any slim case I've seen.
So short answer... yes, good decision.

Just got my Meifeng (the new black one :eyeroll: ). I wish I had gotten to see it before purchasing.
Differences
Size
Calipers show that the Meifeng is 0.07(±<0.02) mm thinner than the Palette (its semiporous texture is slightly squishy so it varies ~0.02 mm), so the thickness is pretty much identical.
Texture
The Palette is quite slick, but not glossy. It's more like satin than lacquer. The Meifeng is weirdly rough. It's like a soft sandpaper. It's not really a preference, as it would be easy to acclimate to either.
Cutouts
I always thought the Palette cut-outs were too small, but that might have been a conscious decision. The small bridge on the top face of the volume buttons is very thin.
Prospective Durability
Both look very durable, and you would probably break the screen before you broke the case. That being said, they aren't meant for rough usage. As I mentioned about the cutouts, the volume cutout bridge appears more likely to break on the Meifeng.
Other
The Palette is far easier to fit and remove. I hate using a case, and only use my Palette when I'm out and about (I also have a Poetic Slim Book for business) and I'm constantly switching between encased and caseless. I'll put the Meifeng in a drawer and leave it in case my Palette breaks.
EDIT: After a few days with the Meifeng, I honestly do like it more than the Palette. The Poetic case is great, don't get me wrong, but I really liked the larger cutouts of the Meifeng, as well as the rougher texture.

Just got N4 couple weeks ago and im leaning towards this ^ case. My only concerns are:
1. Is the upper right corner bare and the case is cut from there or is it just to show the layer of the case.
2. How flexible and fall resistant the the see through glass on the back is? Does it attract alot of dust?
Thanks.

It's to show the layer. If you look through xda or even searching the case you'll find pictures and videos of what it looks like.
The back isn't glass it's just plastic. No it doesn't attract dust but does attract fingerprints.

Its covered don't worry. The materiel is pretty flexible, because its just plastic. Its ok with the dust, but attracts finger prints and it scratches easy.
So I just received the Poetic Affinity clear case and I'm liking it!
album of pictures: http://imgur.com/a/E0vrg
It's clear, with a black bumper around it so that it sits on this small bumper rather than the clear portion. It's a very nice, tight fitting case. Phone feels nice and snug inside, which is a complaint I had about the Diztronic TPU in that the sides were loose and would bulge out, which was quite annoying.
this case fits nice and tight, and has a good grip. The sides have these bumps which are the same hard plastic that the case is made of, but they provide some great grip. def don't see myself dropping this from holding it on the sides, which I like.
the case itself seems to be of sturdy construction. it's a harder type fully clear mold, with a softer TPU type little exo skeleton type bumper that makes putting it down on a surface nice and soft. the lining around the screen is black and also a soft tpu like material, so if you put your phone face down on the table, again, it'll go down softly rather than hard like a fully hard case.
has all the standard ports, and they are all precisely cut: headphone jack, charge port, and the oval shape around the camera and motorola dimple are perfectly cut and look nice and even.
best thing is the case is super clear, so if you've got a nice leather or wood back, it'll shine right through. my moto x was the standard black back, but it still looks cool through this case.
overall, totally worth the money for a case that offers some decent protection, looks and feels good, and overall seems like it'll last with the phone!
link to the amazon site for it: http://www.amazon.com/Affinity-Prot...900484&sr=8-2&keywords=poetic+affinity+moto+x
The very same case but with clear bumpers if you want an overall clear look:
Looks great - thanks for the pictures! At $15 it certainly seems like a great deal! My Cruzerlite case seems shabby in front of it. I think I am going to have to ask someone to get it for me from the States.
What's the lip like? Sufficient in case of a face down drop? Is the corner protection better than the average case, like it seems in the pictures? Also, do you think that the clear part would get scuffed/ scratched over time and not look so great?
the lip isn't huge, but it's big enough to keep the protruding speakers off the surface it seems. corner protection looks good, and there's cushioning on the inside on the corners as well. the clear surface looks good, and isn't holding fingerprints too bad right now, maybe because it's brand new idk, but it may get scuffed up over time. I did notice a small scratch on mine.

Case review
Absolutely without a doubt best low profile case for the moto you will find. I also have the i-Blason Halo Series and in comparison the Poetic smokes it by a long shot. Just wish I could have gotten the black and clear.
Disclaimer: I received this product in exchange for an honest/unbiased review.
I have been using the VRS DESIGN/Verus High Pro Shield for about a week. I am going to keep this review pretty straightforward.
Pros:
- Very classy on my Nexus 6P.
- Not bulky... in fact, it is rather slim for the amount of protection.
- Nice bumper that fits tight with perfect cut-outs.
- Incredible texture that offers more grip than any other TPU case that I have used previously.
Cons:
- Buttons do not provide adequate feedback. I love clicky button covers and this just isn't like that at all.
- Bumper can be pulled from the case rather easily and may not hold up in the long run... bumper may be too fragile.
Conclusion:
I would rate this case 8/10. I will continue using it, and that speaks highly of the quality and detail of the case. Even though this was a review unit, I would have quickly paid for this case based on the design, fit, and protection offered. Would I recommend this case? Absolutely! This case is affordable and looks like it costs $30+. I love this case now!
How about some pictures bro

Did they not send you the updated version of the case? I have this case in Champagne Gold and it doesn't have any of the cons that you have listed. I actually hate how snug the bumper is, makes it a pain in the ass to get off whenever I need to clean my phone(Germophobe). The only issue I have with this case is that the bumper seams to be a little too easily dented. Mine has two dents from just being in my TAC knee pockets.

Yep, I have the updated version of the case. To be more clear on the bumper being loose/easily pulled from the tpu, i should have said towards the bottom by the usb-c opening. I can definitely see this bumper as being easy to scratch too.

Ya know, now that you mentioned that it's at the bottom, I just looked at mine and I see that mine is separating as well. That is going to bug the heck out of me now, lol. In the front it is fine, but on the back it has quite a bit of space there. Looking at it closely, it's because the front side of the phone is larger than the backside where is curves going to the bottom. Talk about an oversight.
I loved this case. Until the plastic broke. I fell out of my hands while I was sitting about 2 feet onto laminate flooring and the bumper snapped off above the bottom right corner. Had it for a month and it was the only drop. Decided to give the poetic affinity case a try this time. I don't foresee it breaking, but it seems less hardy than the vrs. Also, I miss my red/black look of my vrs case vs the clear tpu.
A few close-up pictures please
Received mine yesterday. It looks great on the phone and has premium-like feel to it. Buttons are really tactile and give a good feedback. Best 30$ i spend on smartphone accesories.

Awesome thanks!
Čakam, da ga dobim.. sem se bal, da bo slučajno prevelik ali pa premali.
Thanks for the info!
Those cases look awesome, but all I hear about them is how the bumper is loose, or breaks easily. It's really a bummer, because I do think they look the best.
