I'm on 4.1.1, and recently started seeing this message pop up.
"Please select email client for ZDA" ; options are email, Gmail, or Wi-Fi Direct
Does anyone have an idea what it is for?

Everytime I try to send out an email from either outlook or the pop 3 messaging options i get:
Outlook - the email just sits there in my outbox and does move
Pop3 - the email gets moved to my drafts folder and I get a message saying System Admin - Invalid message recipient
Can anybody help

The problem lies in your POP settings...though some accounts allow you to use the correct outgoing mail server - ie the same as you'd have in Outlook - most have problems and you have to set it up in a different way.
Leave the incoming mail server as it already is, ie if you're on btinternet "mail.btinternet.com". However, change the outgoing mail server to "smtp.o2.co.uk". I don't think you need to tick the "requires SSL connection" in options, but if it still doesn't work then give that a try. I had the same problem regarding "invalid recipient" on an old Clara.net account I had, but once I put in the smtp.o2.co.uk" it worked a treat.

I'm trying to insert settings on my o2 phone for my gmail account and uni account.
one is a pop setting and the other an IMAP4...
The only problem is when it starts downloading the mail, it starts downloading EVERY message i have in my inbox, is there anyway i can just download new messages?

You have to set in settings --- fowarding and POP on your gmail account. Select under POP download the following "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on"

I'm also currently configuring my XDAIIs with gmail, the above infor is very usefull.
I have a follow up question, is sending e-mail posible also? I have tried reply from 1 of the e-mail from gmail but it failed.
I'm running WM 6.1 and setting up a gmail account on it.
when clicking send/receive it says "connecting... checking headers 1 of 160" then it counts till it get to 160 but displays no mail!!
tried sending new mail to myself, then click send/receive.. it says i've got one mail - again checking headers 1 of 1 but still displays nothing
all i see in the "inbox" is "to send a new email, tap menu then tap new" but none of my email messages
any clue?!

When I receive an SMS message my phone wakes up, but doesn't show the number in TF3D next to the Messages Tab. If I go to the Messages tab it shows the new message but if I tap the message it goes to the Select an Account screen where I can choose Mesages, Hotmail, or Setup Email. If I go to the Messages inbox, the newly received message is not there. Also all messages that I try to send are sitting in the outbox.
having the same issue... love the phone overall but total crap software.
I cannot seem to get LIVE email to function properly. I can get email in, but cannot send email out. When I set up, I can do incoming settings, but when I get to outgoing settings it says "cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information".
Anyone help?
