I flashed the Viper 1.2.0 before and wifi didn't work, so I waited for 1.2.1 but I didn't manage to get wifi. I can switch it on, but it keep connecting and then auto switch off and on again with no sucess.
I'm already flashed the extra partition 2.35. I came from Pacman and wifi worked perfectly on this ROM.
About Sense Roms, only stock 4.0.4 from T-mobile worked. I got the newest Hboot. Can anyone please help me?

You updated with the T-Mobile 2.35 ota?
You can't flash the partitions with hboot 1.15, only 1.09 and below.
Your only hope for working WiFi on NON T-Mobile 2.35 based roms is to downgrade your hboot.

Hello,
your problem is that you were on the newest t-mobile base. You need to flash the 1.84 extra partitions. In order to flash that file you need to downgrade your hboot to 1.09 or lower. There is a sticky in the development section for instructions. Once downgraded you can flash the correct partitions and get Wi-Fi working. Hope this helps.

Once downgraded you wont need to run a RUU. Just flash extra partition zip you got.
I'm in the same boat. Trickdroid 7.0 is the only sense Rom that gives me Wi-Fi. I haven't looked into downgrading the hboot.

I download the "[RADIO] [FIRMWARE] ICS firmware and radio from WWE RUU" and flash in bootloader, there show me 4 thing:
1. userdata
2. tp
3. Radio_v2
4. Radio_cust
I know the Radio should be the 3 Radio_v2, what is the other things.
I remember I flash the other radio version before, it just show me the Radio_v2, why this new one have 4 items, the others is the firmware files?
Should I flash all the 4 items? What do the others except Radio_v2 use for?
If I only want to update my Radio, How to do?
Thans!
only flash the radio.img file... I've tried to flash all of them via hboot before and it messed up my mobile data connection...
Note: don't flash any radio if you're not experiencing any errors or weird things on your current radio when flashing any custom roms...

I did not download and flash my old radio but I've flashed the firmware and radio 3831.17.00.16 over my DS and it solved my mobile data problem....
Edit: Before flashing, be sure to make a nandroid backup and this firmware and radio will erase your installed ROM and you will be stucked in HTC logo.... I know that it is wrong but I have to pull out my battery, wait after 5 - 7 mins and reboot to recovery and install my current rom... maybe you should use adb commands instead of pulling out your battery to reboot your DS to recovery after flashing it....

You can't backup your radio. What you can do is look in system setting and look for the smalband version.
Most of the radio's you can find in this forum
Reboot your phone in the recovery mode and do a nandroid backup
And the easiest way to flash a radio is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1860253
download the file and flash the radio.
Good luck!

If it was a 2.xx ruu or the ics ruu, then your Hboot version was the problem. Hboot 6.98 doesn't have the separate /system/lib partition that the more recent stock Roms use, so you could try updating your Hboot (to 7.00.1002) and flashing the ruu again.

I couldn't find firmware in this thread, that you linked. Where did you get it? Or did you flash this PAC-Man ROM and it flashed radio and firmware also? Were they, sort of, "build-in"?
I might have to uninstall firmware from "[RADIO] [FIRMWARE] ICS firmware and radio from WWE RUU" thread, too...
Recently I rooted a friends One S just curious before I start flashing if I go from a sense rom to cyanogenmod or vice versa, Will I have to do anything with Hboot or can I switch between roms without any issues?
You can switch between roms , regardless of your Hboot. If you're on a higher Hboot after 1.09 I think then you have to fasboot flash the boot.IMG or use flash image GUI, even if you're restoring to a previous ROM. Doesn't matter if its cyanogenmod or a stock sense ROM. If you don't want to flash the boot.IMG then you can S-OFF http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155135

I got a question regarding this topic:
My brother's One S is still on HBoot 1.09 and currently running an ICS ROM.
If he want to install a JB ROM, does he need to change his HBoot or anything else?
Because with my One X, I had to upgrade HBoot to be able to install newer ROMs.
Yes, Hboot update is required to install JB

thank you, is there an easier way than going back to stock and updating via OTA?
don't get hboot's and boot images mixed up
you can flash jb or ics or whatever on .09 and most likely will not have to flash boot images separate. that usually occurs on .13 or higher
i have .06 and flash everything including radios
obviously can't change hboots without s-oo
Hi guys, been reading through the threads. Fixing to try flashing this rom soon. Have a couple of quick questions tho.
My phone is bootloader unlocked, twrp installed, and rooted. Will flashing this rom change any of that? From the looks of that thread it seems the answer is no, but just wanted to confirm.
Also, I see that this rom does not come with a radio. Should I download just the radio, or do I need the radio + RIL?
Am I fine with the HBOOT that came with 2.20?
And as far as installing...boot into recovery, wipe dalvik, factory reset, and then flash the zip?
Oh...and this is for a AT&T HTC One X
You're fine. Just flash it. You can flash the radio if you like. The RIL is in the rom.
Well the biggest thing bothering me is the HBOOT. It's from the AT&T 2.20 Ice cream sandwich update. I for sure won't have any problems with that? Oh, also...like I said I am bootloader unlocked, but as far as I know I'm not S-OFF. Is that ok?

Should be fine, you just need to flash the boot image manually using a computer. After you get everything up and running I'd s-off and then flash the 1.09 hboot from here for convenience sake.

Correct. If you are stock rooted, it's a good idea to do a backup in twrp just in case.
Also twrp 2.3.3 is suggested as 2.4 seems to have issues wiping.

I would only flash radios if you notice low signal strength or battery drain from radio usage.
If you check the radio thread it tells you if you need RIL's or not

I believe that's HBOOT 1.14? You would need to S-OFF or downgrade to 1.09 using the JET Tool to flash radios but you may not even need to flash radios, it's your call.

I would wipe system too or flash the wipe tool, then flash the zip. Then fastboot flash the boot.img (You can flash it before the rom too, either works) from the rom if you are indeed on hboot 1.14 which I am pretty sure you are.
.
Thanks for all the help guys. It appears I was over worried. After spending the day reading threads and getting an idea of what I needed to do and in what order to do it I finally decided to just do it. I pulled the boot.img from the rom and flashed it with fastboot. Then flashed the rom with twrp (yes I had 2.3) and did a backup before all that. Let the rom boot and then rebooted to bootloader and fastboot installed the new radio. Everything is up and running great. Will look into S-OFF and downgrading my HBOOT later. Thanks for all the help!

2. Booted into recovery (twrp 2.4.0.0, which had no problems flashing 1.7.1) and flashed 1.8.1 - Caused continuous boot loops, I know I am S-OFF and don't need to flash boot.img.
3. Tried getting my ass on another rom, flashed Viper - Booted but I don't get any network signals + reboot if I unlocked the lockscreen.
4. Thought of trying some aosp/cm ROM, tried LiquidSmooth - Same thing repeats.

I had this same issue. What I found after hours was that the only solution was to start at the beginning.
I had to return to S-ON (But keep SuperCID)
Lock Bootloader
Flash a Stock RUU w/low Hboot (Keeping SuperCID lets flash any)
After that was completed, I was up and running again, but I still had a signal issue. With the Lower HBoot I was able to re-flash the radio and I was up and running.
From there, I re-unlocked the Bootloader, installed the custom recovery and was able to flash a different ROM again.
I found that it was very dangerous to update to the 2.15 firmware, just caused problems for me. Hopefully that helped.
Also, with the [ROM][S4][JUNE29]V1.8.1 T-Mobile HTC One S JellyBean Stock/Rooted/deodexed/, it is USA based, so unless you are in the US I would just avoid it. I am but I chose Viper just because of the Firmware updates.

What Hboot does the latest Tmob JB RUU contain ?? And why lower hboot in specific ?
Any particular reason ??
The new ruu updates it 2.15. Lower firmware= lower hboot. The lower hboot means makes it easier to flash radios. Most cannot be flashed higher than 1.13

why didnt you just updated the official way,
mostly all problems are caused with flashing it manually or flashing only parts,
since there are multiple firmware versions for multiple devices its easy to **** up.
genericly people do it like this-----> flash first---->read/research later.
if your s-off reverting back is easy.

Will we be able to upgrade to this new patch with s-on using the flash boot?

Maximus HD --- No you need S-off for this. The firmware updates your Hboot, Radio, and you flash a different recovery and finally Rom
You might check out other Rom's that have Sense 5 4.2.2 features. They do not require S-off like Maximus does.
Hi thanks for your reply.
Do you know of any such roms that don't require the s-off?
I installed odyssey, its got no google playstore..suddenly my computer no longer recognizes my sd card / phone.
I tried adb push, managed to get a stock orang001 tmobile uk package to the root folder, but when i turn off the mount, it says its bad..which is a little odd.
Seems thought I got odyssey installed / flashed etc, its so bare as its practically useless to me unless i have google, plus its got weird glitches on boot up, taking forever, always booting into the developers screen etc.

With Odyssey you have to flash slim gapps after you install the rom.
Your Sd card (partition) may be corrupted, the way to fix that is to put the stock recovery back on your phone then go to bootloader and "clear storage"
All of the other Roms don't require S-off, MagioRom is being actively developed with the sense 5 and 4.2.2.

Moonshine

If you aren't on the supported firmware it won't work. So, if that doesn't work for you then I would just leave it S-on. It isn't hard to fastboot flash a boot.img before flashing a rom in recovery.

No, it is hard enough to get it to work on the supported firmware. (I would love to be proven wrong, for the handful of people that need this)

Please tell me how did you manage to install MaximusHD ROM without S-off!
I'm a little scared since I read they have a lot of problems while installing this ROM.
I'm using CM10.1 right now, but I would like to have sense 5 on my HTC One S.
I have unlocked boot loader and TWRP recovery.
I read there are other ROMS with sense 5 like MagioRom, which doesn't require S-Off (As far as I know)
Is there a great difference between MagioRom and MaxiumusHD? All I want is Sense 5 on my phone without all the terrible of S-offing!!

I tried Maximus with CWM, did i using sideload and them flash the boot.img file. but it was a disaster as my device didn't connect to wifi and had some call drops then I tried flashing twrp and then sideloaded magicrom 4.0 and flas boot.img, it looks lot better now but only issue right now is my phone keeps on rebooting and am still waiting for a stable rom to be released.
I read MagioRom comments and they say with that ROM phone reboots a lot. So I think the only way is with MaximusHD. The WiFi problem I think it can be fixed. I don't know about the call drops, but many have this ROM as daily use so I guess it's ok. I will try S-off with moonshine method, then try install Maximus. Hope my phone survives.
