As the name implies this the unsecure stock kernel boot.img
You can use the adb remount command to push files to system now!
YOU MUST HAVE AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER FOR THIS! See here for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30274025&postcount=317
If you dont know what this then it may not be for you. This is more so developers can use in there ROMS.
No need to ask to use it, just give credit if you do.

New clean ROM soon then?

Would it be too much to ask for an AOSP kernel (ICS)? I'd do it myself, but I don't know much about kernels lol

Well, this is more for developers.
It just unlocks the /system partition so you can push files. I mean, yeah, it will be in the next CleanROM but its not urgent from a user perspective.

This is a Stock kernel. I just modified the RAM Disk to remove security and to add init.d support and set up the script so it can be flashed.
I didint build the kernel. Its just stock.
How come your user name is in italics BTW?
Not sure on run parts... Need to check. Unsecure is still a go!

I know it's stock. I was just wondering whether you were able to get an unsecured AOSP kernel for all of the AOSP ROMs out there. It'd also help with Sense 4.
To get your username in italics (RDs only):
Go to User CP
Select "Group Membership" from the side bar
Select "Recognized Developer - Identify me as a member of this group"
Save

To make it unsecure its just some changes in the RAM Disk. Im sure if the AOSP guys are out they know how to do that. If not they can reach out to me for help but they tend to know more than I do about kernels and all

This is mostly for developers that want to do things that having a locked boot.img normally stops you from doing. An average user will gain little value...
But lets say you were making a theme and had to "push" files to the /system folder you can NOW do that with this boot.img. It makes Dev's lives a LOT more easy now, lol

yes it does, copying files to my sdcard and then moving them with root explorer, or packaging them in a flashable zip and copying to sdcard and flashing everytime is frustrating. specially if your doing it every 10-15 mins.

Tell me about man, tell me about it!
And I confirmed init.d support is functional as well!
I know this is just a simplification process for devs and it helps skip the extra step of moving files somewhere else first then move to /system with root explorer if you're rooted, so please don't ask if I'm a dev, the answer is: no, I'm not. I would appreciate if someone could only answer this question without getting into other details. I would like to know if it would harm or break anything if I have VRALF2 rom and radio/stock kernel and I flash a VRALG1 kernel, but keep the rest as it is? Would this newer kernel work with my older version rom, or do I have to flash the whole package first? I basically don't want to renew my rom to the new G1 version since there is no apparent improvement (it's actually worse) over the older F2 version rom, since it downgrades certain things.
Thanks

When you say no improvement are you talking the Modems? If you are only flashung a rom and havent changed the kernel then it would be the same as just flashing the g1 modem with a different rom correct.
Hey scrosler how can I identify that the flash worked. The ROM booted normally but in the kernel name I don't see any change.

I'm not talking about the modem, I'm asking about the kernel, if I flash THIS unsecure (G1) kernel, but otherwise have ALL F2 stuff (modem, rom, etc), will it mess up anything? I think u misunderstood my question, I don't want to flash a G1 rom or modem, just the kernel, because the modems are same, so no improvement there, and the F2 rom is better than the G1 rom, so I'm keeping everything as F2 like it was, but flashing this G1 kernel. Will that be compatible/ok?
Try it??? If it fails just restore from backup?

Well, you can try it but my experieince tells me that you may loose LTE and WiFi because yo dont have matching modules. The modules (aka drivers if it were windfows) hare specific to a kernel. If you took the /system/lib/modules folder from a G1 ROM like mine or nosympathy and pushed them in I bet it would work just fine. But why on earth are you on older build?

Thats easy... Before you flashed the boot.img was USB deggign turned on? If not it would be turned on now.
If USB degging was already on or not on turn it on... Then... connect phone and wait for the connection to finish. Then type "adb remount" (assuming you have ADB handy) and it should say "remount succeeded" If it says operation not permitted then it did not take.

What difference did you expect? Its a STOCK kernel and will behave like a stock kernel except give full and true root access to the device. Its not for the end user its for developers. Of course this ramdisk will also allow us to start modifying and shutting off services, tweak things at the kernel level, etc... But right now, this is just bone stock with init.d support and root level access to the file system via ADB.
Hope that explains it some.
HI, guys, I'm desperate, I already manage to recover IMEI with QPST (was Zero) but not ERI ( 0 or none depending the ROM runiing ) I don't know what to do. Any sugestions??

Yes. I used the stock image from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762204. Then I put in the reprovision code somebody posted in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870972. Make sure you don't take any OTA's before putting in the code. I'm not sure if there is a newer method available to fix this problem but this worked for me. Also be aware reprovisioning will wipe your internal memory completely.

Dump of Stock Partitions
Lollipop d800-30f
Since we don't have a d80030f KDZ or TOT yet, I decided I would try to do the next best thing. I did a back to factory 20c -> 20y -> 30f upgrade progression. Then I did a factory reset, followed by one click root. Then I dumped all of the partitions that are normally part of the KDZ.
The zip includes Stock 30f images of:
aboot
dbi
laf
misc (removed, not needed - specific to each phone)
persist
rpm
sbl1
tz
I have the modem partition, which will get its own zip and its own post. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/modems-att-stock-modems-t3106221)
I also dumped system, but it is huge. Please don't download it if you're not a ROM maker (it'll make Google mad at me): https://drive.google.com/folderview...NEb0dUVlpQenhrOHZsaGYyQ3ZiOGV0LWM&usp=sharing

Here ya go.
Flashable zip of the whole ROM will be soon (probably work on it tonight).
@blastgator, what will be the difference between your flashable zip and the stock OTA, other than the fact that it's a zip? Also, do you find it preferable to use stock LP on our device vs BlissPop or other 5.1.1 ROMs? I spend a lot of time and computing power building nightlies, want to know if it's pointless. I don't think so, but now that we have LP, I needed to ask you. PMing you!

I still run KK. I am just doing some of this stuff to get ready for the upcoming move. I was going to start looking into ROM creation, based on stock ROM (since we don't really have any at this point).
Therefore, I don't really know the answer to your question - "is it worth it?"
And yes, the zip is just what I recovered after doing the FOTA. Much easier grabbing these instead of having to flash 20c and then force 2x FOTAs.

I slapped a zip together earlier for the stock ROM - it wasn't cooperative and made me mad so I gave up for the evening. Kept getting error:
E: Failed to sysMapFile
It was >2GB so that might have been part of the problem.

Exactly what I'm looking/waiting for as well. 100% stock Lollipop rom in a flashable zip format. Well, a debloated version would be better but I'll debloat myself if need be. Our Devs are amazing, I'll hang tight and wait for it

HOWEVER, I have NOT tried this on my phone because I had some family issues come up and I can't be "off the grid" so to speak to test things in recovery.
This flashes 20y bootstack, 30f modem, 30f system, and 30f bumped boot.img. Nothing else /should/ be modified. Root may or may not work. It appears installed, but you may need to run "One-Click-Root" or some similar thing after install.
Also, I modified nothing other than root and doing a bump. FOTA will still be functional as well as any other nasties that could cause issues down the line. This is STOCK!
If anyone tries, please report back, for everyone's sake.

Didn't work. I had a bad update-binary in there. Once I fixed that I kept playing mix and match because of fastboot error. Still no luck, and needed my phone back. I'll tinker more later.
Tried full 20y bootstack. Tried just aboot and laf 20y, rest as LP. Tried each of this with bumped and unbumped stock LP boot.img.
Bumping gave me a padding error, guessing it might be partially related to that. Unsure.
Thanks for the update, saved me a few headaches I'll hang in there until you get a version that boots. Thanks for doing this!

Thank you @blastagator for all your help. No rush. To know someone is looking into it will hopefully spark some interest in the d800 community! Once again - your contributions around here have been invaluable.
Hi all,
I'm in need of a few files that are present in the stock rom. Can someone possibly send me these files?
The files can be found in the following directories:
system/bin:
fingerprintd
vcsFPService
system/etc/permission:
There is one single file with "fingerprint" in the name, that is the one.
system/lib:
libfpasmtztransport.so
liblibvalAuth.so
liblibvcsfp.so
liblibvfmClient.so
liblibvfmtztransport.so
system/lib/hw:
fingerprint.msm8974.so
If some files can't be found, it's still ok. Any help will be really appreciated
I think it's really hard to find someone still on stock rom in this forum lol

Thanks for the link. I already had stock rom somewhere on a hard drive. The thing is that to get files from stock I'd need to reinstall stock which is quite a pain once you have flashed a custom rom. That's why I was actually made the request to get them.
I can't extract the rom on my computer as I don't have the different tools.
Anyone has the files mentioned in the OP?

Hi,
I haven't had luck with these so far. That would help me a lot of you can share them with me.
So I modded the hell out of my stock rom and eventually broke it. After failing to flash the stock firmware about 50 times I gave up and put Lineage OS on my phone. Eventually I decided I wanted to try putting the stock back on and somehow screwed up my IMEI crap and don't have a backup. Basically all my phone can do is run stock rom but without any mobile network support or the same thing with Lineage OS. I've spent hours trying to fix it but nothing's worked. I checked just about every guide I've been able to find and none of them work. the issue is either not fixed or there's some kind of an error/change during the process that makes it so I can't continue. I downloaded some combination file that is supposed to help fix the issue but it won't flash via ODIN like the guide says so i can't do that.
I really need this phone up and working again. Anyone got any ideas? As of right now I have a paper weight that I can browse the internet on.
Update: I fixed it by flashing Android 8.0.0 firmware onto my phone instead of 7.0.0. I'm not sure why that fixed it because even lineage OS couldn't get my IMEI number but it's working now.

Quickest way to solve the issue as you've found out is to flash latest stock for device. Bootloader was the source of your problems, once upgraded it cannot be downgraded no matter what. All these bull sh1t guides saying you can just end up with a bricked phone.
Now BACK UP your EFS partition so this doesn't happen again.
