Link contacts to Facebook?

How do I link contacts to Facebook contacts so their profile pic updates automatically?

1) download the official facebook apk from the market and sign in and there will be an option to sync all ur contacts pics.
2)also u can do it the following way after installing the facebook apk, go to accounts and sync in settings, add account and select facebook and then sync.....

I've got the contacts from Facebook that have a mobile phone number entered on their profile. Easy and nice.
What about the contacts in my phone that have a Facebook profile but not added their mob info to their profile?
Is there an app to link those Ki d of contacts?

Go to your contacts and click on the friend you want to "join" to the facebook contact. Edit and press the menu button. Now you'll see "join" and touch that. Now pops up your facebook friends that match.

Awesome. Its going to take a while but glad they are now joined.
Any reason why the contact picture displays with such bad quality when making a call?

[Q] Qusetion about contacts (History, Activities, Media)

Is there a reason that when you slect a contact and choose any of the options History, Activities or Media.... nothing ever shows up under those menus?
I thought it was supposed to sync with your SMS and facebook and show recent messages, sttus updates, etc.? And I do have my contacts synced with Facebook.
is this a breoken feature when running a custom ROM? Or am I just missing something?

You have to sync with the integrated facebook sns and not through the facebook app from the market. If you go to add account you will see facebook under the integrated accounts header.

I am synced through there as well. As, even if I wasn't linked with facebook, I should still be able to see call and text history with my contacts... that's not showing up either. Thanks though...

Facebook pictures are not syncing

So I setup my facebook as an account and told it to sync everything. The problem I am having is that the pictures are not being downloaded for most contacts.
I went into the address book and selected to view just facebook contacts and 99% of people who I did not like to a contact did not have a picture. The same could be seen for people's bdays who appear in my calendar.
Anyone have a solution?

Unfortunately, it's a problem with ICS. Facebook and Google are having a bit of a pissing match, much like those between Apple and Oracle. No ICS ROM period can sync facebook pictures without jumping through some hoops.
There are solutions; look for an app called HaxSync on the market, it's a workaround but it does work.

Or as a free alternative, Friendcaster.

I knew about the facebook/google fight but I thought HTC's facebook implementation would get over it that just how alternatives like friendcaster can

its what i use. only downside is that it syncs EVERYTHING so you will have to link contacts to clean up your address book

It's been working fine for me. All of my contacts that have fb are synced and there pics are there

Contacts that have Facebook sync perfectly fine. It's the Facebook contacts, the ones that I don't have linked to my contacts, are the ones that don't have their pictures synced

I think the issue is with the HOX because it doesnt show up on Go SMS either. The only way I got it to show up was by installing this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsInJvLndlZWRuZXQuY29udGFjdHNzeW5jIl0.

Contacts in AOKP

I have a lot of contacts synced with gmail, but most of them are emails and i don't need them in my phones contacts. How do i delete multiple contacts at once?

Don't remember if you can do a batch select (I've only done it once and for the same reason) but you need to log in to gmail from a computer and edit the contracts from there. Also I believe in contacts settings you can set it to show only contacts with phone numbers.

Like eb says using a computer you can edit the contacts. What I would do is setup groups and only sync the various groups with phone numbers.

Don't have that option. And i have one more problem. How do i sync all my Facebook contacts. When i was on gb and installed Facebook, the first screen would all if i wanted to sync all my contacts, sync with existing contracts, or don't sync at all. But now i don't see and can't find that screen

Open app drawer select People, then menu contacts to display, customize. Select your facebook account and it will show a box for all contacts if that isnt checked then it is only syncing with existing contacts. If you select your gmail account you will have the option to sync all the groups individually.

It says no contacts. There's no way to get to that screen on the Facebook app that asks how youwant to sync the contracts?

Clear all data log out and uninstall the app. Reboot your phone re-install the app. If that doesnt bring the option up then its go forever.

Contact Photos

Has anyone figured out how to sync Facebook and Google+ accounts to display contact photos?
Edit......answered my own question by searching play store. An app called Ubersync for Facebook works flawlessly.

I use hax sync. Same concept I guess, but it works great as well.

Does the builtin FB sync not work?
I just clicked the Contacts Sync checkbox under Facebook in Settings -> Accounts.
I assume that will work for FB.
