Can't OC - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. It seems that I can't OC on my tablet for some reason. In SetCPU, I set the max speed to 1.5 GHz but it won't go over 1.3 GHz for some reason. I have also enabled "Speed Mode" and that doesn't make a difference. I am running the Energy ROM with the kernel it came with. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

[Q] Overclocking on Glitterballs' Kernel

I just installed Serendipity 2.0 w/ Glitterballs' latest kernel, which supports OC up t 1.2 GHz, and I wanted to know, is it possible to stably overclock my phone to 1.2 GHz without variable frequency or UV?
If so, how would I go about OCing my phone?
Also, will OCing affect the health of my CPU and lead to increased wear and tear in the long run?
Thanks in advance
If all you want is to overclock, you don't have to change anything.
Unless you plan on keeping your phone for 5 years OC won't do any harm.
Sent from my Captivate.
Thanks MikeyMike01! Looks like I'm going to OC then. And btw, I'm a huge fan of your ROMs

Stable Overclocking Kernel?

Hi Guys, what is the most stable overclocking kernel for the Asus TF 101
I have been using netformer with Prime 1.5 and have not had a single issue. Clocked at 1.6 with set CPU on interactive mode and a screen-off profile to down clock to 500 mhz.
Clemsyn-Blades.. just try the kernels out yourself and figure out yourself. It varies between devices.
Clemsyn-Blades installed, running like a lamborghini, awsome! Thanks.

Same here. Had a couple random reboots at 1.6 but all is well at 1.4.

Hammerhead ROM with OCGPU - Stable at 1.6 GHZ

Morning all,
I am running the Hammerhead ROM with the OC GPU kernel. I have been able to run at 1.6 GHZ with no issues. When I push it to 1.7 GHZ I get alot of browser closes, hangs, and reboots.
Has anyone been able to run reliably at 1.7 GHZ with the OC GPU kernel, and if so are you doing anything special with voltages to get this to run reliably?
Thanks,
Steve

Each device and each Tegra chip are slightly different..some will run that fast without any problem, some can do it in bursts, while others will crash before you close SetCPU. It often has very little to do with settings.
I had the same issue as you. At 1.6, it has never rebooted, but at 1.7 it very consistently reboots or forces a close.

I am going to fool around with voltages and see if I can get 1.7 Ghz to stabilize.
same here.. i had no reboots but some force closes when i really push the device with 1.7 ghz ( tiamat kernel&3.2) ... if depends on the load of the cpu i guess.. when i run quadrant test continuously it works without a problem even a non-stop half hour.. but when i open 15+ pages in theb browser it freezes and sometimes forse closes.. i assume the voltage management is not stable or enough for 1.7 ghz .. when its 1.6 its perfect.. ( to be honets none of this gpu and cpu overclocks are really necessary and effecting my everyday usage, its already a very fast and good device)
Hi guys!
Which app are you using to control the clock?

SetCPU is the best for the Xoom, imho.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Sorry man. It's been said before about the tegra and other procs, it's all luck of the draw. I am one of the lucky ones who can get stable at 1.7ghz but it won't work for everyone. I wish there was an easy fix that would make this work for you.

Setcpu overclock with intermediate frequencies

I have my xoom overclocked to 1.5ghz with setcpu on interactive governor.
Is there a setting that allows it to use 1.2 or 1.4 before going to 1.5 ghz?
Its just a thought but wouldn't that save battery life instead of stepping from 1ghz right to 1.5ghz?

What kernel are you using? tiamat kernel (tachi) goes 1.0, 1.2, 1.408, 1.6, 1.7
using tiamat kernel. Its not the frequencies available I'm asking about. I can set any of the frequencies you mentioned. But mine is set to 1.5 ghz interactive.
But what see happening when I look at the "time in state" report in setcpu are that 1.2 and 1.4 have 0% I would have assumed if I set the CPU to 1.5 Max then it would use the frequencies below it as needed instead of just jumping from 1 ghz to 1.5

Plus 1504. That's my oc sweet spot.
On your second point-I guess it uses what it needs. If you're concerned about saving battery power, set profiles.
Out of curiousity if you go to "time in state" report in setcpu do you see 0% for 1.2 and 1.4 ghz?

Oh yeah sorry I missed that one...i never checked state but assume if it is interactive and I am working actively that it is going to go to full power. Try conservative profile if you want the opposite.

How to downclock CPU to 1.2 GHz?

I installed the ARHD 3.0.6 XE rom and my CPU was automatically overclocked from 1.2 Ghz to 1.5 GHz. This has brought some unexpected battery drain (it's much worse than it previously was).
Is there a way to underclock it to 1.2 GHz? I tried using the Daemon Controller app the rom came with but when I apply the changes, it simply reverts back to 1.2 Ghz.
Is there any safe utility I can use to downclock? Preferably free, but I wouldn't mind shelling out some bucks for a safe app.
Thanks to anyone who replies!
NoFrills CPU might be ideal.

Hi,
HERE YOU GO
This is daemon controller 2.21
uninstall the one you have and install this one.
It works.
Change your clock speed to 1.18 something and it will show 1.2ghz.
