I'm using the above ROM on my Desire S and am having issues with the proximity sensor. I had the HTC ICS ROM before this and all was OK but since installing CM10 the screen stays active when I am on a call and the phone pressing against my face is activating all sorts of apps and screens whilst I'm talking. It seems as though the screen is not switching off and de-activating.
I have downloaded a proximity testing app and it is showing that the proximity sensor is working OK.
Is anyone else having this problem with this ROM?

The ROM worked fine for me as long as I have used it. How you've installed it? Full wiping or dirty flashing? If so I suggest you to make a full wipe and then reflash the ROM.
sent from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
This rom is not 100% done/developed, iam having issues too like Force closed apps.
it works for me. don't have this issue. probably try reflash it see what happens
I use this release since October...It's very smooth!
Everythings works fine in 16/11 build except gallery setting that' doesn't load...
Updated to 06/12, i performed a clean install and it's now work perfectly, still remain the gallery settings bug.
i´m using the 1116 build and everthing works for me

Can you load the gallery settings?
Thanks for the replies.
I have found that the screen disable is working fine on normal calls. It is Viber that has the problems, it also has the problem of not ringing when an incoming call is coming in. So I am putting it down to the Viber app and not this ROM. Otherwise the ROM is fine apart from the panorama screen problem in camera.
An update to Viber has come through today so I shall see how that goes.

Hi,
I have this wierd problem with my sensation. I found out that if i have my camera on and it falls a sleep it wont unlock any more. no ring nothing.buttons glow but a solid black screen. The only way out is a battery pull.
It's with photo camera and video camera mode. no other apps suffer fom this.
I've tried other roms but nothing. I currently run ARHD 3.6.7
I found out on accident but it is realy annoying me now
Any of u with the same problem or ideas?
known issue with kernel. not sure which kernels. try keepscreen app to keep screen awake if using camera so it doesnt freeze

Yeah, it's bricked kernel. Doesn't matter what version you use, it seems to keep on happening randomly.

Hi,
Go into Bricked Kernel post, there is a .zip file called, CAM-FIX.zip
Flash that, magic will happen =]
Thanks guys, I've all ready flashed an other kernel and it works all fine now.
CAM-FIX.zip on the other hand is only for sense 3.5 and I really prefer sense 3.0
The camfix patch is so the camera can even function in the first place, it does not fix this issue. Without the camfix, if you try to use the camera the screen just goes black and the phone freezes. This issue however is an intermittent one, where sometimes when you exit the camera you get the black screen and freeze. Doesn't happen all the time, but it's definitely the kernel at fault.
To the OP, if in your case it's only happening once the screen times out, you could always use tasker to make it not timeout when using that app?

My nexus s' proximity sensors have stopped working. I am rooted and running aokpcb rom, I'm wondering if this is a hardware problem or something with the rom? The screen won't turn off when answering / making a call when the phone is brought up to my ear. I also tried using the app prox pro, and that wouldn't work either. If anyone knows a fix or what the problem is, that would be great.
Backup your current ROM , wipe and install a Stock ROM.
Issue solved --> Rom Issue
Issue unsolved --> hardware issue
Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestion, and the problem wasnt fixed with wiping and installing a stock rom. But, with experimentation, I installed the app "Prox Pro" and whenever I would turn it on, it would execute the command that was specified for when the phone was "flat". So, when realising this, I am assuming that my phone developed some sort of calibration problem with the sensors. All in all, I am wondering if there is a way that I can re-calibrate my proximity sensor so that they work properly. Thank you.
Could that just be the default for the phone if it's not getting a reading?
I don't think its the default. The sensors always worked fine up until sometime last week.
I meant a default if there is no signal or an error, which is what it currently looks like.
Oh, okay, ya that could be it. Do you have any idea how to change it? I also realised that the light sensor isn't working either, when on auto brightness, the screen will always be dim, no matter how bright it is outside. If you, or anyone else has a solution, I will open up my phone and check to see if there are any connection issues or something like that .
Hi,
Since last week my camera didn't work well anymore. I used to have no problems but since somewhere last week, my camera would crash my whole phone upon starting. This was with ARHD 6.6.4. Then I flashed 6.6.7, and the problem was still present. So I cleared cache and app data, and still, no working camera.
Yesterday I flashed OrDroid 9.0.0, hoping this would clear the problem, but it didn't. When I click the camera-app (camcorder as well) my phone hangs, and about a minute later reboots itself. When clicking main camera in Z-devicetest the same happens. Using the mirror-app, my phone keeps working and gives a clear image from the front camera.
Any advices?
Well, today my camera worked several times... But I cannot get it running again. I tried lots of different things, wifi on/off, airplane mode on/off, bt on/off, full battery, on wall charger...
I'm afraid it might be a hardware malfunction. Can anybody give some advice?
I used to have a camera problem it used to crash when I opened it. Someone told me to uncheck face detection on the camera settings and it worked. You can try that

I don't think it's a Rom issue, did you uncheck face detection ? If it's the Rom that should do the trick. I'm running ordroid 9.0.0 and I have no problems with the camera. Make sure you uncheck face detection, if it's still giving you trouble it could be a different issue. Check your settings. Could be a problem in settings. This is known to happen if face detection is on. So uncheck it and let us know if that did the trick. Hope this helps. Best wishes!

Well, I thought I found it, but it wasn't the battery. When the batt is full, or nearly full, I haven't had any problems, but when ~<80% my phone just crashes and hangs or reboots...
I did uncheck face recognition and geotagging when it worked, but this hasn't fixed anything.
Are you on a custom kernel or not? I have experienced flashing different roms affects the camera as well.

Same issue on several different ROMS (Sense and Senseless). Camera will work for a while then freeze and crash to the home screen OR occasionally crash and reboot. This also happens with other camera apps, not just the stock app. If I don't find a solution soon I am going back to the stock ROM.

Just as sudden as the problems appeared, they disappeared... The camera functioned for about 2/3 weeks without any problems, but now last week, all of a sudden, it started crashing my phone again whenever I start the camera app...
Hi all, I just noticed that my auto rotate isn't working anymore. I was using a custom rom, but reverted back to stock just to make sure everything would be alright, but it still isn't working on my stock rom. I downloaded "Phone Tester" from the app store, and when I check to see if it's working, it says that my device has no accelerator, compass, light sensor, etc...
What's going on here? It was working fine a couple of days ago.
Edit, when I go to the Phone Tester app, it says that I don't have:
- Accelerometer
- Compass
- Magnetic Field Sensor
- Proximity Sensor
- Light Sensor
- Gyroscope
- Pressure Sensor
- Humidity Sensor

Having your same issue. It worked once when I flashed a new rom but then I rebooted and it stopped working. I went back to stock but that didn't help either.

If you flashed the factory image and it's still not working then it's most likely a hardware issue.
I remember soon after the N5 was launched there was a barometer app that was crashing all of the sensors. Maybe this is still an issue?

I have barometer installed and working since day 1 I bought the phone.. I would assume the OP problem is an isolated issue that somehow crashed all the sensors.
Most possibility is factory hardware defect.. or .. somehow the phone was at affected by strong magnatic/radiation field area that caused those sensors broken.
Having the same issue.
So I figured something out today. I flashed the stock image for 4.4, (not 4.4.2 like i had previously), and everything works perfectly fine! Now if I take the OTA for 4.4.2 it stops working once again. So now I have no idea what to do lol since I know its not necessarily a hardware issue but more of a software issue. Another thing is while on 4.4.2 if I open GPS Status & Toolbox app to check the GPS or sensors the phone soft reboots but the app never opens.
This is definitively a software issue somewhere. Its been working perfectly fine all day on stock 4.4
I will try and see if I can find what's changing or getting updated when you do the update to 4.4.2.
Hi, it appears that recently the gravity sensor in my Nexus 5 stopped working.
At least it is what it seems by using sensor testing apps. And this makes it impossible for the phone to get its orientation (compass is not working).
Screen rotation is still working fine though.
Here is what happened exactly: not long ago I was using Google Maps, but the phone was a bit sluggish so I decided to reboot it.
After rebooting I opened Google Maps again and immediately noticed that the orientation indicator was missing (the blue "beam"), while it was present before the reboot. But I didn't care about it, and just thought that the compass needed re-calibration.
After a few days the orientation indicator was still missing, and the phone never asked me to re-calibrate, as it used to do before instead.
Then one day I launched Google Sky Map, and noticed that the view does not rotate automatically.
So I fired up a sensor test app I had installed (asd.vector.sensor), and no data is displayed for the Gravity sensor. Also orientation is not displayed and the info says that the gravity sensor is used to compute orientation, too.
Other sensors are ok, and as I already wrote screen rotation still works great.
Any clues about this issue? Did anyone ever experience this?
I'm afraid a system restore would not help...
I'm using Resurrection Remix ROM, Android 6.0.1.
Thanks.
If the problem exists on a stock ROM, it could be a hardware fault.

Ok yes, but I still do not know if it exists on a stock ROM.
Taking it the other way around... Do you think there is real possibility that it is a software fault?
I mean: did it ever occur to anyone? Is there really any hope that resetting my phone to stock will fix this?
I HATE having to reset my phone...
Thank you.
I stopped using custom roms a while ago because of minor problems that would suddenly appear.
I don't think there is a way to really tell if it is software or hardware unless you reset or use a stock ROM.

Well, that's a little hope at least.
I will need to find some time to re-stock my Nexus and try.
Thanks .
Ok, I restored the phone to stock and all sensors work again now!
Thanks audit13 for pushing me in that direction .
That's great that it was a software bug in the custom ROM.
Now you get to hunt for a custom ROM that works with a minimal or zero number of issues
