This is my first time I have tried to play around with my S3, I have tried to root using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709
When I go through the process, this screen appears saying this: http://gyazo.com/bc710780287cbd70d839d751f11ca0a3
This is not letting me be able to root my Verizon S3, can anyone help me with this issue?

I've done that but nothing happens to my phone/computer, just brings me back to the main menu of that program.

Hmm, I'm away from my laptop to test this out. Have you unplugged then re-ran the RootDebugs tool? Also, did the Windows drivers install?

Man,
My questions must be so stupid that I can't even get someone to respond!
When trying to flash certain things using CWM, I am prompted to install an “untrusted zip"...
Has anyone experienced this and is it safe to install untrusted ???
Please help

Try toggling signature verification off.
Thank you. I will try that. Appreciate the response.

Is whatever you're flashing stated as compatible with your device/made for your device? Have you tried flashing with a different recovery (If available)?
I have Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 and was trying to flash the nexus 4 boot animation..
This happened a few days ago when I tried to flash some of the android 4.2 system dump.
Both times it says “ install untrusted zip". I just tried to toggle verification and that did not help.
Thanks for helping

You might as well just make a backup and then flash .
I'm such a noob I don't even know how to make a backup, I've been trying to figure this out for days!

Bizarre, I just flashed the 4.2 clock and it worked via mobile Odin.

This is due to you having stock recovery. It will not flash anything not signed by samsung

No. It's not safe to run untrusted.zip. It may be contained with viruses and may screw up your phone or PC. Only run files with actual names because you don't know if it's good or bad. It can crash your phone, not to mention your PC.

"Untrusted" is not the file name. The recovery is just stating that the file is "untrusted" since its not official from the manufacturer.
Hopefully your phone is rooted, if it's not I can't help ... make sure you have an unlocked bootloader and install Rom Toolkit from Google Play. Rom Toolkit has a bunch of boot animations for free, including the nexus 4 animation. Also, it will install these from the app itself - much easier than doing it in CWR.

Hey rookie, welcome to xda!
While I've got your attention..
Can you guys help me with something else??
I'm running jellywiz RLS12, yesterday I flashed a 4.2MOD pack over jellywiz. After flashing it, I realized I didn't want it. I tried to research how to “unflash" stuff but was unsuccessful, ended up having to do a factory reset and reinstall jellywiz.
Any pointers on how to do this more effectively??
Thank you!

Hello,
So I was trying to flash back to stock after a failed attempt with cyanogenmod 10.1, and stupid me accidentally hit the phone button in Odin. Now my phone will start up, show me the "galaxy s3" screen and not do anything after that. Furthermore, my suspicion is that my home button does not work (even though it was working perfectly fine this morning). Because of this, I can't enter into download mode. My phone is effectively bricked. Any help or suggestions?
Randomly got it to go into download mode after hooking it up to the wall charger. Fingers crossed.
Even after this, it still won't boot correctly.

What did you do after you got it into download mode? You're going to need to Odin back to a full stock ROM

I plugged the phone into my computer and chose the correct file under pda. Then once everything seemed ready, I hit start. Odin gave me a "pass" and everything.

Sorry to say this but you probably bricked it, you're gonna need a JTAG or a replacement. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

pull the battery, put it back in and try to get into download mode. you shouldnt be bricked unless you installed a rom from a different phone
I doubt he bricked it. Dude, try unlocking the bootloader again
Cyanogenmodded very skankily via XDA app. Skanky, indeed
Read this again and follow the part that applies to you. There's a section about not unlocking . It's a soft brick, very fixable.

Thanks

1) pre-OTA update to Kitkat, using the guide that said back up to D80110c.kdz
2) loaded d80120a.kdz
3) re-rooted
4)loaded TWRP
5) tried to revert to stock Rom using UpTextEx.exe - but where it normal ask for English/Korea imput, I get a screen with the following:
Port, ESN/IMEI, Model, etc. But all my phone info is missing.
Click read phone information and it starts to scan then I get a popup: Port (USB or Serial) not found. I click okay (only option) and it keeps scanning but as of now, it doesn't add info at all.
I don't want to start the upgrade (as it's not an upgrade) for fear of deleting the IMEI or some other item that will turn my phone into a permanent paper weigh.
Just need to get this back to scratch so I can sell it.
So does anyone know how I can restore this to original settings if UpTextEx doesn't see my info?
Bumping this with updates.
1) Download menu shows rooted
2)Root checker says it's not
3) Super SU says there is no SU binary installed.
4) LG R&D still not showing phone info, but I attempted an "upgrade" using D80110c and D80110g - both ended up with it saying that I had the most current version.
5)Factory reset (hoping that would erase the root and let me start again), but still rooted, still denied SU.
Can someone please help me get out of Iimbo?

Not sure how that happened, as I searched for my device and pulled up that forum before posting. But must be doing something wrong there as well, as I just scolded for the same thing on another post. (which however was in the G2 section).
