n8010 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
okay why is it that their are ...pretty much NO roms for my tablet n8010? All the roms I see posted for the note 10.1 are not for my model, I have seen one which is stable for the jelly bean update but It wasn't running that well on my tablet, why is their such little choice for my model and also when will jelly bean be out for my version?

Someone asks this every day, sigh.
1. The devs are likely waiting for JB to compile ROMs for your device
2. Only Samsung and Jesus know when JB will be out for the N8010 (and N8013)

whaaaaaaat????????????????????????????????????? wow...thats nice man,
But its risky to try out roms which arent specifically designed for your device, right? I used a rom from this site and it changed the model nunmber to n8000, even though the rom was supposed to be for my device...lol...I guess Im just going to wait for the official jelly bean rom out here..

The reason you do not have roms for 8010 is because none are available the jB for 8010 is out for Germany but an OTA and hence the complete firmware is not available but there are some post where you download the OTA and follow some steps and install it.
Would I recomend you to do that no, if it was the complete firmware i would say go ahead.
Wait for sometime it should be out soon ( I have been waiting for couple of months form the Indian firmware of Note 800 to be out still no signs)

You will run into problems with things like Titanium backup getting confused and not restoring properly.
Honestly the rumor is that the JellyBean OTA may be coming shortly. You should just wait for that. The cm10 rom is the best developed now but you lose s notes with that.
I recommend just rooting with the 8013 Odin in Development and leaving it at that for a while. Other than cm10 the other roms have proven to be a bit unstable. Always be careful. With ICS flash the wrong combination of recoveries and roms and you could have a paperweight on your hands.

Thnx for ur feedback.... But Im only planning on using stock roms.... So can i flash stock n8010 roms from sammobile on the n8013?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I would not if i were you. Honestly until JB gets released you arent going to see much of a performance pop flashing any stock roms.
Better just to chill and enjoy your tablet. Run it on Apex Launcher. Makes it faster.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
Thnx again.... The weird thing is that no where could i find a post of how these 2 versions differ except that one is the US version nd the other international..... If they have the same exact hardware, nd they only differ in the region released nd model no. then supposedly flashing one model's rom on the other should not cause any problem.... Am looking 4 strictly technical input on this.

The exact differences between the two models are still unknown. Apparently on the Tab2, the difference was IR ports, but 8010 has them.
I'm not sure why you're so concerned, considering that more developers have 8013 and 8000 units, very few people have 8010s.

They never seem to do so for USA devices.
There is a Kies dump (effectively a full return to stock package) for UEALH2 available in the Development forum.
I know people have flashed the leaked 4.1.1 on their 8013 and in settings it even showed up as a 8010 but yeah I wanna know if the ROMs work
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
For a custom stock based rom for the 8013, i recommend checking out the rom in my signature. Extremely stable, and has jelly bean animations
I bought a N8013 @ best buy in the USA two weeks ago. I am now back in germany and flashed a german DBT N8010 ROM (LH2). Everything went fine. WLAN, BT, ... everything is fine. I would say that I have now a "real" N8010 machine Even Kies accepts my tab and does not say that it is not qualified for updates...
So, to answer the question: Yes, you can flash a N8010 ROM on a N8013 machine.
But what about N8000 and N8013? Are those interchangeable?

I bought my N8010 (sales in China) and there's no 5GHZ WLAN support in OFFICAL firmware (both CHN and TW ROM , it can't recognise the 5Ghz access point of Cisco E3000)
But it DOES SUPPORT 5Ghz WLAN after flashing N8013 ROM JellyICS (This rom isn't stable enough for daily using for my N8010, all google apps go crash.)
So I guess (just guess) N8013 Rom supports 5GHZ WLAN natively but N8010 doesn't (at least in CHN Version Rom)
I have the 8010 uk version and it works perfect with 5Ghz radio on my asus rt n66u

My N8013 have just flashed with N8010 UK firmware. It stops recognizing 5ghz airport and OTA updating feature. However, using new 4.1.1 is great. it's compromise.
N8013 JB update?
Is their any word on when Samsung will release the JB update for the N8013???

Official: Jelly Bean for the GT 7 Plus coming in the next weeks

Samsung has just made the announcements, and among the listed devices is the 7 Plus.
This time around they have promised a faster deployment than with ICS, saying it's coming to all these devices "within the next weeks".
Great news =)

impossible you say? I would bet ours devs.. given full samsung source, binaries, blobs etc, working full time, could build official JB in a matter of days. Testing does take time though.
Id bet on before February from Samsung.

i'm not sure what you mean by "every firmware has a kernel...counter" thingy. i've flashed more than three times using odin, and my flash count is still 0. i think that it will only count if you flashed a custom firmware. just my thought though
What i want to said is, u dont need root for flahing firmware via odin and dont take hard way and use mobile odin...and it will not count up ur binary...believe me..this is not 1st time im using android and flashing firmware...tab plus is my tenth android device lol...

I am predicting a late January test build showing up on SamMobile with a OTA of late Feb or March.
I base this on the historical release rhythm for Samsung tablets and the P62xx series.

probably, i hope by late january or early febuary we could get at least one jellybean build for p6200. the blobs might help a little for cm10(or 10.1 by that time), but i don't know how much it will help, perhaps the video playing problem could be solved, and maybe a smoother "buttery" jellybean.

Most people have know heard of the Jelly Bean update for the GT-P6200 which should be released today (22/02/13) but does this include the Wi-fi Version (GT-P6210) or will we have to wait even longer for this update to come out?

With new firmware, beweent change log number and build date, which one is more acxurate to indicate that is a newer firmware? Thanks

Not sure why everyone talks about build date.
The changelog is going to be your one guarantee that a firmware is in anyway different or identical to the one you already have
Quite often build dates might be different because of scheduling of the coding etc

Thanks for this. As a new comer to the Android world and having just got my S4, I note this is the firmware on my phone (online import to Australia). However, could you confirm for me:
this is a link to the Stock ROM should I need to return the original OS,
that despite this, I can still follow published methods for rooting my phone (eg "Root the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean using Motochopper tool",
there is no problem with me moving to a British based Custom ROM such as described here "Update Galaxy S4 I9505 to official XXUAMDM Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware", and finally
Does the region software is designed for (eg Hong Kong vs Europe) have an impact on the phone's functionality and hardware abilities?

Anyway.. thanks!
Now just have to wait 2 hours for this to dw despite having a 100mbps connection.
