[Q] ICS Camera Driver???

Hello members...
These days, everyone is waiting ICS Android 4.0. We see some ICS ROMS for HTC Desire S.None of them have working camera. So Please make me clear about following questions about camera problem.
1) Will camera driver be made by HTC only or other thirtd party developers such as MIUI or CyanogenMod Team can also develop that for their ROM?
2) If HTC releases ICS for Sansation XL, Will it possible to port that driver in Desire S or not?

1) I think thirtd party developers can develop it, they are not worse than HTC`s devs.
2) Why not.

I think thirtd party developers can develop it,but whey can't port drivers from other cameras. Maybe we will see full working camera in ICS ROM soon

There already is a ICS ROM with camera drivers. I think, if it would be portable, someone already has done it.

Maybe there's a chance to port anything from the released kernel source code for desire s?

It has nothing to do with ICS.
I don't mean to sound rude and I can understand that you guys are eager to see a working camera. But getting it to work is much harder than a simple port. I sense that it is coming soon but until then we just need to sit tight.

There is an experimental WiP driver for camera on ICS. Lastest CM9 and Virtuous roms have it

I can confirm, that this driver is working. Better than nothing.

Camera lag with CM7

Hi after flashing the CM7 my camera and all video related lags and start to be useless. Any solution?

[Q] Please help me fixing Camera problem in Sense 4 roms!

I have tried almost every Sense 4 roms but i get one camera problem in all of them...after taking a picture going back to main menu or just pushing back my phone hangs and i cannot but pull out the battery to make my phone working...what is the problem and solution??? pleas e help as i cant use any Sense 4 rom.. thnks

no....through revolutionary......this problem only occurs in sense 4 roms....

Deactivate face detection. I have no cam problems. I'm using fallout and it makes very nice pictures.

i tried deactivating it on both fallout and cooldroid but no luck... i badly wanna use sense 4...help please!!

Hi buddy. I think your problem is caused by the camera hardware revision that HTC put into the newer batch of desire s. There was a big discussion on this some time ago when a lot of newer desire s' were having camera bugs with cm7 based Roms but worked correctly with sense 3.x Roms. The issue was finally attributed to the camera hardware revision in some newer models.
I think you probably suffer from the same problem and may have to wait till the desire s ICS source code is released. That will help devs cook up a better more compatible Rom.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help as I now have a Galaxy S3 and barely use my desire s...

Android 4.2.2 Q !

hey guys i just ordered an HTC One S yesterday , and i just wanna ask , will this device get the 4.2.2 update ? or HTC is still doing this thingy where they don't update their phones using the "this device can't run this system" excuse ?

It would appear they started to develop an update but decided not to push it. Someone got their hands on it and made a Rom out of it so if you are feeling brave, you can have 4.2 w/sense 5.
I just updated to the Rom from the modder tmo jellybean update. So far, I am In love. Even put HTC Zoe on it. Works great except zoe mod borked front facing cam but that's no big.
I would reccomend it.

ROM camera problem

Hi,
In all the roms I'm facing camera problems.
In albinoman,lungo,sultan roms camera goes dark , or has some glitches in panorama mode when rotating screen.
In revelation 1.0.3 camera works sometimes, but usually it shows error can't open camera. It is the same with apps from google play. Cant open camera.
With ics roms,its ok.

With sense roms I'm not having this problem. I see this only with AOSP. In custom AOSP you can rotate camera while in panorama, so it's more buggy.
When using 10.2 straight from cyanogenmod.org camera has glitches when touching screen in panorama.
In 10.1 only when switching between photo mode and panorama mode.
I think it's a driver issue, but why im the only person who faces it.
With sense roms camera works well.

Anyway to put sense camera, example from revelation rom to albino rom, or from the same revelation to stock cyanogenmod rom.?

No problem with Sense Roms
I only had problems with aosp roms where t would work and then in one day the front camera would stop working and cause the camera app to crash when switching to the front cam so now im using sense roms which work and also take fast shots!

I have sometimes problem with camera too. But mine camera works fine just flash is something not like that... When i use shot with flash, sometimes my phone is rebooting. I don't know what's the reason, because I had this same problem on other roms... Any idea for soultion?

Probably its your battery I have same problem like you my battery was old and sometimes I have reboot with flash I changed and the problem disappeared

So I have to go to the shop and buy brand new battery. This is not bad idea, because i can fix my problem and make better battery stats.

Would JB sense camera work with CM 10 rom?

Sense camera won't work in aokp roms(which cm is)
I'm looking for camera app for aokp as well if anyone knows one...
