Phone name: LG P500 Optimus One.
Phone Model: LG P500
Issue: When i bought my phone it had Android 2.2, then later on i went to LG service centre and go it upgraded to 2.3. Im not sure of it upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 because nothing much had changed in my phone. Then few months later, i rooted my phone to Perfect pesov2.3 rom. And now i want to root my phone to a different ROM possibly CyanogenMod 7.2. So i decided to google out the procedure. I came to know that its mandatory for a new baseband. i'm not sure what baseband i run on.
I tried to check it via (About phone section in my phone) but some random symbols show up. (I have added a picture of it.)
What you have tried: I have tried to google it out. I tried Restarting my phone. I did power on and off, still the baseband is not visible.
Please help me, also suggest me a good stable ROM ?

If u have upgraded once to official 2.3.3 and never reverted back to official 2.2 then u definately have new baseband. For confirmation check perfectpeso thread for whether rom was for old baseband or new?

Well I guess it may be different on MIUI lol.
It looks like a bunch of jargon to me:
"M600A-SCAUTNZ-2.0.9720T 1 {JUN 05 2011 04:00:00} MP:TRULGE_08.09.02R_MDM"
going by that date(june 5th) looks like you got that older baseband. New baseband should be july something if im not mistaken.

Dang is there a way to upgrade the baseband without loosing my ROM setup?
If I made a nand backup of my current rom, then installed stock froyo and upgraded through LG to gb, then restored my nand backup?
G2x only has 2 basebands, April 27 and July 15 are the days I believe. Is this a tmous g2x? If so something is wrong here..

:S Yes it's t-mobile g2x (basically same phone) I'm just on wind in Canada.
Am I using a completely wrong baseband here? lol maybe that's why my battery life is to the crapper.
Holy crap! I definitely accidently flashed the O2X firmware the first time I tried modding my phone... Did I end up with the O2X baseband??
Edit:: Reversing to stock froyo and upgrading to 2.3.3 GB did indeed work!! I'm now on the jul 15 baseband!
It diffidently wasn't an o2x baseband, or it would say unknown, and would be unrecoverable. However it could have been the wind baseband, Idk if the dates are different for them. But happy it upgraded too the latest for you.

The Froyo TMO baseband had a March date. That's the Froyo Wind Canada baseband. It would work perfectly on Wind or TMO since the hardware is identical. So basically for the P999 we have three viable basebands. Now we just need to find a way to flash them at will like they can on the P990.
Hello XDA!
I've got a question.
Currently running a rooted LG O3D with stock ROM.
I've read quite a bit about Custom ROMS, I hear friends talking about it, I know what it does, BUT...
What ROM should I take?
I'd love to year your LGO3D stories...
Note: I do not mind losing 3D options (as long as I can get back to it by backing up).
Alot of thanks in advance!
Lrpvo
Edit: I would like specific stories of O3D users, as I've read enough others... Just need to be sure it'll run on my device.
i think ThiaiZ roms are the best!
they are so smooth & fast (Specially in preparing sd card)
Also they are compatible with each game.. (unlike Accura roms)
Thanks Dark Fear!
To all, update:
Yesterday got everything ready to flash CM7 Nightly on O3D, didn't get to do it, so did it this morning. Ran fine until 4 pm, when I was backing up files using ROM Manager, Lights Out. Now getting zero response from my phone.
Trying to flash back stock.
Keeping you posted.
thiaiz is fantastic,
CM7 is fantastic as well (although much different approach).
for those with gsm-problems (like me), CM7 with froyo baseband is the best solution (no 3D)
I had GSM problems today too =.= only thing I disliked 'bout it...
Though, anyone any ideas on getting my phone alive? It's not responding at all atm...

This'd be my guess. I've got a dead phone, not reacting on anything. Did get it to be recognised as a Omap4430 device (using Power+vol up) but that was at school on a PC I can't use to install software from LG I need to use... My win7 won't pop this up so I'm screwed.
Any1 else ideas?
i was scared at first too, a whole new world because i came from a sony erricson satio (symbian s60v5) and now android, wth?!
just did a lot of reading about rooting and flashing roms and now it all goes as smooth as i used to go!
had almost every rom installed (only cm7 not, bought a 3d speed, why wipe the 3d section off?). i know now that oc1,2 drains battery so i always take 1188mhz. i currently running rushdroid v3.6 and that works pretty smooth and fast but thiaZ en acurateam are also very good roms!
i'm just waiting for an ics rom
Good thinking..

If you want back to stock from CM7 restore backup in CWM wont work. You must install from cwm any stock rom (Thaiz, King3drom, etc..) and then restore backup.
If you cant enter to CWM you must install rom from kdz

If you want to you computer to recognize phone as omap4430 try to remove battery before power+vol UP
Hey there, I'm a little stumped here, I recently did the NVflash method to load CM 7 RC3 onto my G2x, everything works, except call audio. I've tried both speaker, headset, and BT headset, and none work, on the other end it sounds like a high pitch squeal. I've also tried messing around with getRIL, rebooting after each change, but no luck either.
I have recently gotten back to a rooted stock rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602798 But it seems that doesn't work either, and I have the July Baseband.

Can anyone help me short of reverting with the LG tools, or would that be my only way? Or should I try a CM7 stable instead of a nightly?
Thanks again for helping me with this issue.
flash new baseband. you are still on July baseband.
More clearly, flash back to a rooted or non-rooted 2.3.3 ROM, download the mobile support tool from LG and let the software update your phone to 2.3.4. Then, CM7 RC3 and newer will work.
However, if you want to flash older builds or CM7-based ROMs that haven't updated this capability, I believe you would have to manually revert back to the earlier baseband by using the KDZ flasher. That's my understanding, and should be enough information to get you rolling even if I'm slightly off.
Yes lg tool is the only way to update baseband so you can run RC3
Okay I'll go ahead and update to a newer stock rom with LG mobile tools, I do find it weird though that a rooted 2.3.4 rom can run on the July baseband... but does anyone have any experience if knowing that particular rom will work with the newest baseband?

Hi. Right now, my goal is to get my LG G2X back to stock ROM. Is this possible? I have no backup.
I don't have a backup. Thanks
Also, I don't mind this ROM....it seems to work okay BUT the reason I want to go back to stick is that the auto focus on the camera is not working properly. I tend to think this may be something to do with this ROM. Anyone have a fix for it or heard of this before?
•Current Rom - - bioniX reloaded v1.4.1
•Current kernel - - 2.6.32.9
•If you have done ANY undervolting or overclocking - - i don;t know.
•If you had this problem before (either on other ROM's or previously on your current ROM) - - no, i just want stock
•If you wiped Cache - no
•If you wiped Data - yes
•If you tried installing another ROM - no.
•Any other things you already tried (BE SPECIFIC!) - some research and that is it.

Depending what base band you are on (go in about phone and check what date the base band shows), you flash the stock nand from the link above.
P.s: the way you filled your form reminded me of the "I don't care I want an I phone" anime video on you tube. Lol

Alright! The stock rom is on the phone. However, the rom was not the issue with the phone
Oh well! learning experience. I am going to try and repair the camera
thanks for the help. I did get the nandroid romm flashed over and working great
Well, I found out that it is not the OS that was causing the auto focus problem. So, I took it apart and got the camera off the main board...so easy on this phone I was so happy.
I bought a new one for 11.00 on ebay. just waiting for it to come in now.
In regard to the OS. I was able to flash it back to stock thanks to the nandroid. Thanks for the help.

If you would have asked, I would have told auto focus is rarely a ROM issue.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and a complete NOOB to moding Lg Optimus 3D (saw the 'new members’ video’!) Anyway let me get to what my problems are:
I bought LG P920 ( O3D ) after the first month of its release in EUROPE. I bought the phone in Greece while it came from GERMANY. Not sure what firmware it was on since i didn’t really care about modding it , custom roms etc. but i updated using Lg support tool ONCE ...The only thing i did with the phone was just rooting it using Megatron for Windows .I updated to ICS last week. I think it was on V21E before i update it to ICS 4.0.4 but not quite sure about that. To be honest i thought things would get better, at least visually! After the update i did a HARD RESET to O3D so that it’s like new and re-install settings and apps from the beginning. I found out that a lot of apps i use (around 5-10) are not compatible with ICS so i’m kind of stuck. Back before the update it did cost me some extra battery but things run smooth 99% of the time. So i kind of regret updating to ICS since i can’t really use my phone to make things easier with my job. ICS is really nice to have but GB ( i think but not sure) worked really nice for what i needed . So, long story short, i want to downgrade back from ICS. I searched the forums but i think i got more confused than i was. Any chance i get a link of the correct guide i should follow for the downgrade. I found xbsall's resurrection guide but i want to be 100% sure before i do something on my phone.
The reason is, and the second part of my question, that LG support tool is not working since this week. I any of my 2 PCs ( 1 with Windows XP and 1 with Windows 7 ). I uninstalled Lg drivers for the smartphone and uninstalled the tool, reboot a hundred times, tried everything but i still can’t get it to work. It is installed but every time i get to open it, it gets here:

}
and then i get this . Any help to get it to work? That would help so i can try and downgrade my O3D and if something goes wrong , i can restore it using LG support tool!
Thank you everyone in advance, XCowX
Anyone ?
Forget Mobile No Support 'Tool.' It is just about worthless. You want LG Flash Tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39269819
As far as GB I have never gone back, but you should be able to just flash a .bin. and. fls.
