I've had my s3 since October & have had zero issues until a couple days ago all of the sudden there's now a noticeable purple/pink color saturation of the display that spans from the bottom left corner up to the middle of the screen. You can see it on most screens, it seems to get worse @ times but it also seems to get better its incredibly annoying & odd. Anyone experience this? What could it be? And can I make it go away? My phone is not modified @ all & is in perfect condition never dropped nothing.

Hi, I received a new Fuze from AT&T two days ago and I have noticed a small, subtle, yellowish dot on the upper left hand corner of the screen. It is barely noticeable unless I am in an app with a white or grey background. I don't particularly mind this blemish, I am just wondering if any of you guys think it can/will worsen? Should i send it back to AT&T now? Should i wait and see if it gets worse at all? Or should I just leave it to luck and deal with it the way it is, it doesn't really effect the phones performance or display that much at all. All opinions welcome, thanks.
it's called a stuck / dead pixel
1 pixel == 3 sub pixels 1 red 1 green 1 blue as in rgb
each one can die in 2 ways
on stuck or off stuck
most lcd panels really got some pixel errors if one really check up on it
there are programs which can excise pixels and temp make stuck pixels work again but
sooner or later they get stuck again if one can live with it depend on how anal one is about noticing such things
It doesn't appear to be one pixel, it almost looks like its an image of the sun. Brighter in the middle and fades out at the edges, in the shape of a circle. I'd put it at about .25 inches in diameter. As long as it doesn't get worse I really don't care.
I have got 5 "suns" on my Touch PRO and one green pixel I can see it well on black picture.
Yes it is not so nice but phone is going well with it so i don't do anything with it
But when you have got a new phone, i will send it back
Hm, well as long as no one sees the problem getting worse I really don't mind at all.
I don't think it would be worth the hassle with AT&T over something so minuscule.
Just noticed that my screen appears to be dimmer along the right side than the left. Has anyone else seen this with the DC or should I go use my exchange at Costco?
I had a phone that had a dim screen but nothing like that. Exchange it before its too late.
Will do. I have 90 days and it's only been 25 or so, so I'll make it over there.
It almost looks like the screen has two different color temperatures. The left is very cool and the right is very warm.
Yeah its really odd. I had one that looked cool and my girlfriend had one that looked warm. I got it replaced but to see that on a single display is just odd.
I have this exact same issue on a certified like-new replacement Charge. The right side of the screen is noticeably darker tinted, especially at lower brightness settings. Some people have had the same problem only in reverse (left side darker) on the SGS2 -- which uses the same screen as the Charge.

I got a new one and it doesn't seem much better than my original one... trend?
It's very hard to notice.. but I'm also very picky about these things.
Hi Guys,
New to this forum. I recently sold my one plus due to the exact reason but this was at the bottom of the display. Many have said that it would disappear over time but after 6 months, the yellow band was still haunting me. Gave up because of how infuriating it was and sold it. Got this beast, loving it but I noticed straight away at the top left of the display there was a yellow spot which spreads slightly to the centre. Im not familiar with the characteristics of certain displays as I am aware of the different kinds of displays these two devices use. Just wondering, would this problem disappear over time ?? I saw this post on this particular "fix" sites, which says that it will over time given the glue dispersion from heat and what not. BUT, im just afraid (skeptic here) it would end up like my one plus. Im trying to avoid going back to the reseller as this phone was purchased from a grey importer. Any input from any of you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

a lot of people have yellow spots . the spots are mostly visible in 0% brightness and grey backround. Install dead pixel detect and fix and choose gray from the menu. if the result is not good contact with lg service center to change the screen.
you mentioned also oneplus. I also had oneplus before. it had 2 issues the first one was the led light bleeding and the yellow banding. the led bleeding is only visible down due to the position of led lights of the phone and cannot be fixed. the yellow band was due to the glue that didn't properly fixed. I personally had this issue but after some months It was fixed by the use of the phone. I also let it 2-3 times under direct sunlight for 20-25 minutes.

Just wondering, would it work if id put the Flex 2 under the sun as well? The discolouration is only noticeable, like you said, on Grey background.. wonder if this would go away over time.. thanks again!! :crying::crying:

you can try it but I don't know if the glue is the issue. on the other hand lg has a very good service maybe it can replace your screen if the problem is so obvious

hey, i managed to exchange for another one. Though there is some improvement, the yellow spots are still apparent albeit less noticeable and only in Grey background. Did your's disappear, or at least improve overtime? How is it? I have tried using a 38W UV lamp for nearly an hour and the yellow spots are still there..

you may need to try a lot of screens to find a good one lol. Mine also has some yellow spots visible in grey but I can live with it... I have still 23 months to think about it (warranty)
My Z3 has just started showing a spot of discolouration at the top left of the screen, right by the charge port.
A phone repair guy told me that this is caused by overheating, does anyone else have experience with this? The place I purchased the phone from told me over the phone they wouldn't replace this under warranty due to my neglect putting too much pressure on the screen at that point, are they kidding me!!!
See attached photo
I had a similar issue but my phone had that color all over the edges and they did replace it under warranty. But mind you the screen they replace it with is not the original sony display. It looks and works OK but i dont think its the original one. Also I doubt the gorilla glass quality after replacement.
Interesting I was just about to post same issue, I have this green discolouration around all the edges of my phone as the pic attached shows, thought my eyes were seeing things, but it has definitely has gotten worse over the last few weeks, it easily seen on greys or white background.
Same like mine problem...

I've got the same issue on mine, but rather worse and mine is nearly a year old. Had no issues up until about a month ago an then a small bit of discolouration, then there was a second spot and then eventually it became what it is now it's been gradually getting worse and worse.

Maybe you push you power button too hard, lol.
It was also interesting to note that the Z2 had the exact same issue reported and displayed

And wow your screen is bad
Hi guys, I've had the strangest thing with my U11+ yesterday. I picked it up and turned it on after it had not been used for just a few minutes. The display showed enormous light bleed!
All four corners had clearly noticeable white in them, and the sides were white as well. This was all with the screen turned on. It scared the hell out of me.
The white started disappearing slowly immediately. After 5 to 10 minutes the white was completely gone and my display has been just fine since.
Is this normal? How can this happen? Is my display history soon?
There is similar tread I think, and few people had that problem and me too once or twice few months ago but now everything is ok, except burns-in in corners, and while lines when it is cold, but I am waiting for cold weather to send phone back to repair or whatever. The display is disaster, it is impossible to show or look images on a sunny day...
Hi, the only threads I found were about the constant but hardly noticeable light bleed, especially at the bottom. Nothing about this temporary light bleed.
Good to hear I'm not the only one with this. I do not have white lines. I find the display very clear and sharp, it should only have been a lot brighter to use in sunlight.
Is anything known about people who send theirs for repair? Do they get it back with a brighter display?
I don't know if there is any help coz even u12+ has dimmed display.
They say U12+ is 10-20% brighter. Who knows.
